Pueblo West Boarding Kennels
Pueblo West Boarding Kennels is a wonderful place to take your "kid"! I have boarded Major, my one-year-old Doberman here and had a great experience. I like that they provide blankets (my Major is a shredder), and their own leashes for walks. When I went back to pick Major up, they told me about how funny some of his quirky mannerisms were (he makes a chomping sound with his teeth and "sits" on a couch with only his back end). I could tell that they had really spent time with Major since they noticed his goofy habits. He seemed to really enjoy the staff and his experience here. Their prices are also very reasonable and I like that the runs have indoor (climate-controlled) space and outdoor space so the dogs can go in and out as they please. I highly recommend Pueblo West Boarding Kennels!

Frequent customer. The store itself is beautiful. Fun place to take the kids. They have a wide varity of pets with everything you could ever need to care for them. The staff is great always super friendy, and helpful. The long term staffers really know their stuff. My only concern is that ever time I buy fish I loose most of them. They do have a decentĀ  return policy if they die in a certin timefram from the purchase date and it is not because of something wrong with PH balance in your tank. Unfortunately, they usually die just out side the window. This has been the case over my last 3 or 4 purchases, and I loose 2 out of 3.

A Country Canine Resort
The folks here are nothing short of AMAZING! I live in Dallas, TX and was visiting family for the holidays and needed a daycare for my pup. They were happy to accommodate my needs but could tell I was a little apprehensive. Jori took video of my happy lil' guy playing with the other dogs. It warmed my heart! It is nice to know that Thelonious has a place to stay when we visit Colorado. I would Highly recommend taking your pup for a day of fun! Thanks again Jori! Cassie Nutter

I last two times that I left my dogs at Country Canine, I had a bad experience. The last visit included an ear infection and a fever to the point where my dog cried when I tried to pet him. How could the staff there not notice this? I had to take my dog to emergency for medical care that same day. I will not take my dogs back to Country Canine nor do I recommend them.

Pueblo West Boarding Kennels
We boarded our two dogs for 8 consecutive nights over the Thanksgiving holiday and have no complaints. Jim gave us permission to text him any time we had concerns and accommodated our need to pick up the dogs on a Sunday (their one "closed" day of the week). Rates were reasonable since our dogs could share a kennel, and they came back healthy and happy. Thumbs up!

Jim and his family are always flexible and understanding when I end up 5 minutes late. Our dog always appears happy and well taken care of. We appreciate having a trustworthy family taking care of a part of our family!

Tips & Advices
Pets that do not get along with other animals may incur an additional fee. Some facilities have special solitary sleeping and play animals for these types of pets.
A checklist for what to bring to a pet kennel includes:
  • Vaccination records
  • A favorite toy or blanket
  • Food and feeding instructions (if the pet has dietary restrictions or is a picky eater)
  • Medication (if necessary, in its original bottle and with written instructions)
Some pet kennels have veterinarians as part of their daily staff, while others only have vets part time or on call.
Most kennels can provide basic care such as administering medications, but owners of pets with serious medical issues should choose a facility with a veterinarian on call.
Bordetella, commonly known as kennel cough, is highly contagious, and most dogs catch it at least once in their lifetimes. As such, all dogs should be vaccinated at least 7 days before boarding.
