I stopped in tonight (Monday) sat at the bar this time and the bartender was ""on point"" she recommended a great glass of wine and food to go with it. Although service is always good, I will be at the bar on Monday's for now on.

This restaurant if by far one of the best in Providence. I have never once been disappointed at the level of service or the quality of their food. Their staff are consistently professional and last year I had them assist me in organizing an event for a friend. The evening went of splendidly without a single flaw. Highly recommended.

My only regret about Capriccio is that I don't live or work in the city so I could eat here every day. The pasta and seafood is incredible, especially the Dover Sole. Worth the travel. Good value.

We had guests coming in from South Carolina, and on the plane they sat next to a former chef of Al Forno, who highly recommended it.\r So we went Saturday and as we were told they did not take reservations we came early, only to discover that due to graduation parties they did reservations and everything was booked. But after begging a little bit, we managed to get a table in an hour.\r Meanwhile we enjoyed a good glass of wine from their extensive winelist, while we were browsing the menu.\r It was really hard to decide what to get as they had so many courses that sounded good.\r When we got our table our waitress was SO good in going over the specials, and answering questions. The way she explained the dishes was very visual, and she really knew what she was talking about.\r We shared an appetitzer, which was a simple spinach salad with bacon and parmesan cheese. And it really showed how simplecity makes perfect. \r When our entrees arrived they all looked terrific. I had a Meatball cheater lasagne, with the best meatballs. The lasagne part was good, but not over the top. But then i tasted my wifes Pasta, which was heavenly. Also I tasted my sister-in-laws gnocchi with hot sausage sauce and it was really good too. \r The atmosfear at the restaurant was very nice, the service was knowledgeable and service minded and the price was reasonable for the quality of the food. A list plus was there were no loud music playing or no televisions, which I appreciate coming from Europe. \r Thanks Al Forno - I will be back\r

II dined at Bacaro this past Saturday evening after hearing so many great reviews and all I can say is what an intoxicating experience! Now don't take that the wrong way, I had some great wines, but my intoxication was of my overall senses- touch, smell, sound, sight and most of all, TASTE. With the economy the way it is right now, I figured it would be very little trouble to walk in and get a table...first mistake. Luckily, due to a last minute cancellation while I was enjoying a cocktail at this very busy bar, the hostess was able to get me into a table and much under the hour plus wait quoted. It was obvious based on how busy this place was and how delicious the food was that this chef has been at this for a while. The pizza we started with was wood-grilled, thin, crispy but most of all, balanced. It had just the right amount of tomato, cheese and olive oil. The prosciutto on top with the wild arugula just threw it over the top. Like I said, ""intoxicating"". I was apparently raving so loudly that the table next to me heard me and told me that this was the long time chef from the world renowned Al Forno. Now it makes sense. This guy didn't just pop on the scene, he has been doing this wonderful stuff for some time now. My wife had a dish of paper thin slices of what the menu called Jerusalem artichokes although they didn't look like any artichokes that I have ever seen before. He drizzled these with honey, truffle, grated pecans and smoked sea salt. I didn't really care what they were anymore, all I know is that the texture and flavors are still lingering in my mouth. I can go on forever about the food here. I guess a lot of people keep coming back to this place because it almost seemed as if the staff knew everyone around us. All I can say is that I will be back and often enough where someday I will take notice of that unsuspecting first time Bacaro diner and just watch as his or her elation expands with each bite!

I love good italian bread. I really love great italian bread.\r I hope this bread is as good as they say it is. If it is I will become a regular customer. Not just for the bread but for the rest of the goods they bake.\r I will send a real review once I have tried the bread.\r Most bread is just bread. I want the best and will travel to get it. The five stars will stay up until I try the bread. If it is great they will stay. If not they will go down accordingly. Barry Newman\r \r Barry Newman

I can honestly say that this is my favorite place to eat in the Providence area. The seafood is excellent and the Italian dishes are out of this world. I've been eating here since the mid 90's and have brought many family and friends in to eat as well and none of us have ever left unhappy (or hungry). Real local people and witty wait staff are the icing on the cake. Oh and one more thing, the menu is nice but for the real treats, check the specials board!

Making a stop at Roma is like taking a trip to Italy! This place is unbelievable. The deli cases are full of imported meats, cheeses, olives, prepared foods, and desserts. There is even a cappuccino/gelato bar! I spent 30 minutes just deciding what to buy and left with 4 bags full of groceries. Dominic is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to everything Italian, and it shows in this gourmet Italian Deli.

My wife and I have been shopping at Venda at least once a week for the last 4 years. We love the food, and a couple of the employees are nice but overall the service is awful. Many times while waiting in line we are overlooked by the employees. Several other customers will walk up ahead of us and get served immediately when the staff knows we've been waiting. Often before we are done ordering they will move on to another customer. Some of the employees look at us like we are not good enough (I guess the $300- $400 we spend every week is not good enough for them) Several times while waiting to be served-with no one else waiting in line-they will see that i'm there and just continue working on something else-like the customers don't matter (cause they make so much money without having customers).
16.Villa Italian Kitchen
1 Providence Pl # 5110
Come to Villa Italian Kitchen at 1 Providence Pl, Providence, RI for a delicious Italian meal. Villa Italian Kitchen was founded with one store, one family and one concept in 1964, when our founder, Michele “Michael” Scotto brought his authentic old-world recipes from Naples, Italy to New York City. Michele’s commitment to hospitality, quality ingredients, like homemade dough, 100% whole milk mozzarella and fresh sauce and the strict loyalty to those now famous recipes, built the business. From that first Villa Pizza that opened in 1964, next to the CBS/Ed Sullivan Theater on Broadway, to nearly 300 Villa Italian Kitchen restaurants later, our commitment to quality and genuine hospitality remains the basis of our foundation. In 2014, Villa Italian Kitchen and its parent company Villa Restaurant Group celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Today, Villa is under the leadership of Michele’s two sons Biagio “Ben” Scotto and Anthony Scotto. Together, they continue the vision and passion of their father extending the genuine hospitality inspired by their father.

It was halloween and I was picking up my costume at 'Bruna Costumes' on Pocasset Ave in Prov. I traveled from Narragansett so I asked the sales girl where I can get a decent meal. She said 'Saint Barts club'. It's right around the corner on a side street. I almost wasn't going to go. I never say a restaurant in a residential neighborhood, let alone on a side street. I saw a lot of cars there and people were going in and out so I thought, How bad can it be? \r I had chicken parm and it was to die for. The sauce was excellent. The atmosphere isn't the best but who cares. When I returned the costume, it was an excuse to go back with my family. They all loved it. Now I go there at least once a week. Check the hours frist. They close early.
