Instead of going to another restaurant my brother suggested Gregg's, one of four like it in the state. He and my mother had been there before and liked it. Normal standard fare they said. On the internet, the reviews were mixed but more people liked it then not so we went. There were their famous sliced cucumbers were okay and the rolls were fine nothing to write home about. The area is spacious and it was not noisy at all. Appetizers chicken quesadilla was very good with guacamole, bits of tomatoes and sour cream side for sides. Crisp, enough chicken and the taste was quite good. Their orange sweet potato crinkle fries were excellent and fried just right. Chipotle like dipping sauce with it was excellent. The buffalo sauce was too vinegary. My main dish (and nephew's) was the Philly cheese-steak (a la RI) sandwich on a kaiser. It was very good with tasty grilled beef strips with some onions and little bits of cheese (some would more but I liked it with this little bit of cheese) . My mother's broiled (non breaded) scrod was excellent broiled just right. My sister-in-law liked her Chinese chicken salad. My brother liked his burger. The restaurant makes their own desserts. The chocolate cake with pudding like filling in it was chocolate and excellent. The waitress was very good, helpful in deciding on certain entrees etc and served us well and was gracious in all ways. She helped us (me mostly) decide on which items might be good to try. Reasonably priced, good tasting food, many items to choose from (the new menu), I would rate it as a good place to go for lunch or dinner .

I've been to Tazza many times for breakfast and lunch and occasionally at night for many of their live music events. By day their food is great and most of the time their wait staff is very attentative. whether you go there alone or with friends to eat, drink or check out one of their music venues it's a great New York style cafe / club in the heart of downtown.

Julians is hands down my favorite place in Providence for breakfast, although there is usually a wait it is well worth it! They offer a wide range of choices begining with traditional items such as oatmeal and eggs to creative offerings such as an herbed egg wrap. Julians can also feed the pickiest and most concienous eaters with plenty of vegan and dairy free items on their menu. The staff is always very friendly and will welcome you with a cup of delicious fresh brewed coffee (or mimosa) while you wait :-)

olga's is one of those ideal spots - beautiful, cozy, warm and filled with the smell of freshly baking breads and cookies. plus there is a garden and patio outside where you can sit have a morning meal and forget that you are actually in a city. i had a killer omelette and even the side of bread that came with the breakfast was amazing, with bits of apricot in it. the staff was so kind, too.

Known as RI's swingers club, I was shocked the first time I visited this club. I thought 10.00 for a cover charge was too much money but went anyway. I found out later if there was a couple it was also 10.00\r This is a 30's crowd but has some younger people. \r Mostly couples. The club is a giant dance floor with seats along the wall, a beautiful light system, and a bar with friendly staff.\r Everyone who I have met that works there is very friendly. The owner Henry has the brains to hire a female DJ on Saturday who is wonderful. She plays all requests and mixes great.\r I don't know about the swingers thing but the club is worth checking out.\r Also look for theme night. Last week was toga night , very interesting.

After work some friends and I meet at Caffe Dolce Villa for some cocktails and ended up staying for dinner. We sat down outside and I had a Broccoli Di Rabe, sauteed in olive oil, garlic and hot pepper seeds. Loved it everything on the menu is delicious.

I stopped by the 4 Seasons at the Job Lot plaza on Reservoir Ave in Providence for lunch and ordered the Szechuan Noodle special. I’ve been going to this restaurant for years now and have never been disappointed with eat-in or take out. It’s one of my favorite Asian places. It looks great since remodeling after the fire and I missed it while they were closed.\r \r I was treated to a spicy dish that looked like traditional spaghetti with an Asian sauce on top. The sauce included small shrimp, ground pork, mushrooms, and sprouts. Everything in the sauce except for the shrimp and sprouts was ground, cut or diced into very small pieces and placed atop Asian noodles and garnished with green onions. Interestingly enough, the mixture was spicy but the soy based sauce had a nice, slightly sweet flavor. The dish didn’t skimp on the shrimp. There was shrimp in almost every bite.\r \r Service is sometimes slow and much to my disappointment waiters seldom return after serving for any reason except to bring a check. Obviously, this makes it necessary to catch an eye if you decide to order a drink or need something. Waiters are always professional and polite however.\r \r This was a wonderfully tasty lunch for under $10.\r \r I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and frequently introduce it to people who have never been. You can order anything that interests you without wondering how good it will be. It’s wonderful, cross cultural food for this type of venue. You really should try it… You too will be a believer!\r

their french bread is delicious and sandwiches are not bad at all. i would've given this place 3 stars if they hadn't charged me a whopping extra dollar when i asked to replace mayo for hummus on my popeye sandwich. their hummus isn't even that great. overall, i think alibi is a good place to go to if you're starving and want a quick decent sandwich.

The menu is fantastic! There are all the right kind of simple and tasty combinations you could ask for in a selection of egg/omelet dishes. You'll have a hard time choosing what you want because you will want to eat all of it. I recommended Sunday brunch, but that's a busy time. If they say your wait time is over 40min I would move on. If 40min or less I would say it's worth the wait!

Not only are the wings the best but you can order them to your liking, I especially like the honey/barbeque and plain with all the sauces. They also have a great variety of salads and sandwiches. The portions are large and inexpensive. Great place to mingle with the after work crowd. P.S. Try the Cheesebuger too!

Louis' is the best greasy spoon joint - period. I had the spinach pie, for $3.25 - I got 2 big chunks of cheesy spinach yumminess drenched in sauce. Waitress was fast, friendly and earned her 40% tip ($2!!!!). \r This place must be slammed when school is in session, as it was, on a Wednesday in June at 1pm, I found a seat easy and had a great meal!
