YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. 24 Hour Vet in Providence, RI
1.Providence River Animal Hospital

Just took my cat to Providence River Animal Hospital after being an unhappy patient at City Kitty. Loved the new experience. The Vet tech and Vet were both kind respectful and patient. The vet (Corinna Barry) was great. she explained everything and did not try pressure me into any extra vaccinations or tests. (City Kitty was very into over testing for everything under the sun) I did not feel ""at the mercy of the vet"". Totally recommend this place!

I've never had a cat before so I had a ton of questions. Dr Mercurio patiently answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed at all. The office even called the next day to see if I had any other questions. But most importantly is that I felt confident that she knew what she was talking about (unlike the first vet I took her to). The staff were also friendly and knowledgeable. The office was quiet and relaxing which I'm sure Nala appreciated. You can park for free in the lot across the street. Just don't park against the parking garage (in that lot) if you want to avoid a $30 ticket from Brown University. The faded signs are literally 10 feet high and easy to miss. The price was higher than the costs I'm typically use to with my dogs. The exam alone was $58 and an ear cytology (swab) was $27 (a rescue friend of mine says her vet does this for free) but at least the ear cleaning was free. I did stop her before she gave shots (I didn't want them because I'm still looking for her owner and if not the town does them in the spring for $10) which were about to be administered had I not stopped her. She was fine with it. Just remember that you don't have to do everything they suggest. Their original procedure estimate was $264 and after skipping most of the suggestions I ended up paying $85. Like my friend says their job is to load up the bill and your job is to knock it down. Overall, it's a bit pricier than I'm use to but having a vet who can diagnose properly and give correct advice is more important and worth giving the 5 stars.

I have been taking my cats to Povar Animal Hospital for almost 17 years. I have always been treated with courtesy and respect, and the dedication of the vets and staff to the animals is genuine and beyond reproach. They are careful to explain every aspect of the thorough treatment given and the spectrum of options when a problem occurs. I wouldn't consider bringing my pets to any other veterinarian, even though there are many situated closer to where I live.

Basically, I felt rushed, I was ridiculed on my parenting skills. She barely even touched my cat. Barely addressed the issue. Pushed products on me and made me buy antibiotics for my cat who didn't need it. The dose prescribed was too high and my poor baby was barfing all night. She didn't even tell me why he had to take it. She told me he had fleas and flea dirt when she barely looked at him, and I know he doesn't - I check all the time, and he gets frontline! She tried getting me to buy revolution from her. I took him to another vet (whom I also wrote a review about) And the vet told me there were no evidence of fleas and the black stuff was pimples. What a waste of money. the good thing was that she didn't make get tests for things he doesn't need, which is why I went there after reading a review, so that's good. And also the receptionists and tecnicians were extremely nice and caring, friendly, and helpful. Unfortunately, they were not the vet that looked at my baby. So long story short, I thought I would save money going there, and the fact they are walk-in only and open so late attracted me there, but I should have saved money and time choosing one aside from these alluring qualities. It was not bad but it was not good, and we need better than good for our furry friends.
