Taylor's Trees & Turf
I had used another arborist in the area for the past 5-6 years, but their level of service declined over time. I guess they felt they didn't need to impress a repeat customer. So I called Taylor's Trees and Turf to discuss treatment for an ash tree and a maple tree. Josh arrived when expected and evaluated the treatments I was using and made recommendations for changes. He also took the time to examine the recent planting of a new tree and recommended addressing the fact that it had been planted too deep and had been over mulched by the nursery. Taylor's Trees and Turf prices were better than what I had been paying for the previous arborist. Before they could do their work, a wind storm damaged the ash tree. They came out and evaluated the damage and recommended that it be taken down and the scheduled treatment was cancelled. They did their work in a timely manner.

Taylor's Trees & Turf
We called Taylor's to trim some of the lower branches of our Norway Spruce that were rubbing against our house and the roof. They did an excellent job removing several large branches taking extra care not to damage the fence around our enclosed patio or our AC unit. They were very professional and did a stellar job cleaning up afterwards. This particular tree is the tallest in our town, I believe, and is only 7 foot from the corner of our home so we were very concerned about the job being done carefully, safely, and in a manner that would primarily consider the health and longevity of the tree. Taylor's did not disappoint on any of those points. We heartily recommend their service.

Taylor's Trees & Turf
We have done business with Taylor's Trees and Turf for at least 20 years. The service men are always very businesslike and their products have really improved our yard. Now they have added exterior bug spraying to their list of services and I am happy to have that done for the first time this week. I recommend this firm for anyone needing lawn, tree or insect spraying at their home or business!

Taylor's Trees & Turf
This is our first year with Taylor's and I have been very impressed. They are responsive to calls and e-mails, honest with their recommendations and even provided some additional treatments on their dime because they weren't happy with the results. I have recommended them to several family members and they too have been very satisfied.

Taylor's Trees & Turf
Very happy with our service. Very prompt and professional. We used another service before Taylor's and was. Dry disappointed. Didn't show up when they said they were. Taylor's was on it as soon as I called and didn't pressure me into plans I didn't want.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
