Performance at Calaroga Terrace l want to let you know how much I enjoyed your performance on Thursday here at Calaroga Terrace. It was the first time I had seen a ballet performance. All of the residents I spoke to enjoyed it. Please extend my thanks to all of the participants. Mamie Carter Sent from my IPad

We came to visit a friend of moms who had recently moved in. The exterior looked nice enough, but, once we came in things deteriorated rapidly. There was no one at the front desk to answer our question of our friend's apartment location. The few staff we saw seemed to be rushing about. As we waited to speak with someone, I wandered into the adjacent dining room. It looked like people ate then were whisked away; tables full of dirty plates, silverware and partially consumed beverages. And food on the floor! There was one waitress trying to gather all the dishware on a cart. I walked back to the foyer...we finally met a gal who was pushing a large cart that told us how to find room numbers and we proceeded down a hall. I don't know if we walked in on something, but, the smell of urine was over-whelming in one section. We asked if everything was OK and were told that they were short staffed that day and couldn't get to everyone in a timely manner. We had a nice visit with mom and her friend, but, had to walk through the cloud once more returning to the front door. Still there was nobody at the front desk with phones ringing, etc. What if there was an emergency, I thought? We will select better when our time comes and let our children know where NOT to send us!

Community Vision
In my opinion, I would give a -10 for Community Vision if that was an option. What CV's informational pamphlets and news articles say about this organization is wonderful. I only wish it were. Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to personally experience dealing with the organization. My child is in the program and we have been trying to get problems resolved for years. It's a whole different world than what the pamphlets and news articles say.

Terrible! They don't care about the clients all! This is a for-profit business and they run it like one. Many programs don't have the funding to provide happy, healthy, safe environments. No money for food, activities, hygiene products or ISPs goals. It takes weeks to fix equipment such as dishwashers, or washing machines or sinks. Under pay their employees for the amount of work and harassment they receive from upper management. Can't keep employees, so they are always under staffed, making it dangerous for the individual’s they provide care for. Hardly follows OARS laws, some houses in Multnomah should be shut down, or they need to fire the people in charge of them. Everyday I pray for the individual’s involved with this company.

I have to say that I am very impressed with the memory care. You can call and tell them of a problem with your resident and they immediately take care of it. Kudos to the caregivers! I wounld'nt want my parent anywhere else!
