The owner, David, bought this shop a couple of years ago. Unfortunately there are still a few old negative reviews attached to this location from before he took over. If you're really serious about finding a good mechanic, take into account the age of those reviews in your calculations. Also look around, I am not the only one singing his praises.As for my own personal experiences, he has been exemplary . I've taken my car here a few times already, the first of which was for some pretty major work. Every time David has been extremely knowledgable and friendly and motivated. He very obviously takes a lot of pride in his craft, and treats your car like he would treat his own. On top of that, he is just a very, genuinely good guy. He isn't pushy at all, and didn't talk down to me because of how little I know. He is accessible, straightforward, and thorough. He has always gone out of his way to help me understand what's happening and what options I have. His prices our fair, and he has consistently offered to work with my needs, even to save me money at his own expense when he felt it would still be a good decision for the health of my car. The truth is, I never review anything, but after all he's done for me, I feel I owe him a debt of favors, and I don't know any other way to do that but to try to get him more business. He has won my trust, time and again. Both in how he treats me as a customer, and in the skill he has in his work on my car. And that kind of trustworthiness is hard to find in any industry, let alone a mechanic. Needless to say, I wholeheartedly recommend this shop.

BEST SERVICE EVER!!! I have interlock device in my vehicle installed 6 month ago. And for some reason after that installation every couple of days my car would not start. That problem i had over 5 month. I had to come back to the place that originally installed it. They swap all the system but nothing changed, i had same problem - car would start only when it wanted to start. I even had towing involved. All of that was very frustrating. So i had to search for other places that install and service Smart Start Interlock System. And FINALLY I FOUND THEM!!! Bruce took time to look everywhere in my car and fixed the problem. Now i don't have to spend 4+ hours to make my car start and pay for towing. He even diagnose some other issue that my car had, and that was also fixed for NO CHARGE! EASTSIDE AUTOMOTIVE SOLUTIONS IS THE BEST COMPANY!!! I recommend to my friends and to anyone who is looking for installation of Smart Start Interlock System and calibration! GREAT SERVICE NICE PEOPLE !

Wow! Scott Gallagher is a miracle worker! I hired Scott to detail both the interior and exterior of my car. My car has seen better days and there was all these water stains on the paint and it looked really dull. Scott made my car shine like new! And, it’s totally weatherized for the winter, which is especially important since I don’t garage my car. Then, there is the matter of the interior. I was embarrassed at how far I’d let my car go. I put on 25k miles a year because I’m in sales and I spend a lot of time, including eating, drinking and generally trashing out my car on a daily basis. Scott was so polite to tell me it wasn’t that bad (I know better) and gave me a super deal on cleaning which included shampooing the stains out of the seats and carpet. I vow to do a better job of taking care of my car and bringing it in to Scott a regular basis. I’ve had other companies detail my car and I can say with certainty that Scott is the best!

The Offroad Shop & Automotive Service
i recently took a risk and drove 3.5 hours to portland to get my husbands 2006 chevy truck lifted. I had never seen the place or met the owner before my trip. I had just spoken with Eric, the owner over the phone. When I got there i was impressed with his knowledge and his shop! He did a great job on a 6'' lift for us and fit it in within our time restrictions. His customer services was outstanding. We did run in to a minor issue before i left town, it was a fluke mishap and Eric was quick to make things right and correct the situation as fast as he could. It was out of his hands but he went above and beyond to accommodate our situation! My husband will be back to shop with Eric at the Offroad Shop in a few months for a few more accessories. It was good to see a small business who is ran by an honest person who knows what old fashion customer service is. I would recommend anyone and everyone to this place for their off road or accessory needs!

goin straight wheel alignment
My 1988 Toyota truck was hit while parked and the frame was bent along with some quarter panel and tail damage. I had a heck of a time finding a body or repair shop that could or would fix it due to the age. It actually spent almost 2 years sitting at a body shop. Not wanting to just give up as it had a new engine, transmission and more, I was then referred to John's after calling around and spoke to JJ who was very helpful. Well they were happy to take it on and they did an incredibly great job. I just wanted to make the truck drive-able and didn't care at that point about aesthetics or body work but John went the extra mile and fixed up the tail and quarter panel a bit and even straightened out the mashed bumper so I am pleased beyond belief! I have my truck back after thinking all was lost!This is the best mechanic I have ever used and you will feel the same. Thank you John and JJ!

What stupendous service! I have a 2007 Ford Escape that I purchased when new and have taken pretty good care of it since then. I decided that it was time to get my car detailed and waxed, so I called Gallagher Auto Spa because a friend had recommended them to me. Scott Gallagher explained the different services available and helped me make a choice that fit what I needed. I took my car to them first thing in the morning and they gave me a ride to work about 10 minutes away! They worked on my car all day and picked me up from work when I was off at the end of the day. Once we got back to his shop, he explained all the work that had been done and made sure I was satisfied with the end result. I think my car looks better now than when I got it new from the dealership! Thanks so much, Scott!

I came in to Goin Straight to get a second opinion on my brakes. The Dealer told me that the fronts were at 3mm and the backs were at 4mm and we should probably do all of the brakes and just get it done for $580. After about a 15 min inspection at Goin Straight, JJ told me I wouldn't need brakes until probably FEBRUARY and not only that but my front brake pads had less wear than my rear. She even took me to my car to show me with my own two eye that my brakes have lots of pad left on them. They told me come back in 3-4 months and they will help me when I am in need for brakes. In the mean time the dealership has called and emailed multiple times in the past week letting me know that my brakes failed "their" inspection and I need to get them replaced before my next service.

went to meineke last Monday to get an alignment waited for 2 1/2 hrs. then went to drive away and my van still pulled hard to the right. took it right back to meineke waited another 45 mins. for them to tell me that there was something wrong with the back of my van and they couldn't fix it..at this point I was kinda frustrated but,I remembered johns frame shop from years ago when I took another vehicle there and was happy with the service.I called at 4:40pm and they told me they could fix it right and bring it in. got there at 5;10pm and was out the door by 6pm with my van driving strait.these guys went above and beyond to get things right for me.I highly recommend johns frame shop [goin strait alignment.]

I gave up on buying tires at America's/Discount Tire and Costco because of the long wait times. For years, I've been buying tires online or from friends in the performance car industry, and this is where I go to have them mounted on stock/factory wheels.Honest guys who won't charge you different rates or pressure you into buying tires from them. The thing that stands out the most is how fast they work while maintaining a high level of service. I was the only customer one morning, and they were still working at the speed of a Nascar pit crew. They are careful with your car, wheels and tires. Five minutes to patch a tire and 15-20 minutes to mount and balance four tires. You'll be on your way in no time.
Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires.
