    While we were out to dr. car started to make loud whiring noise. Got to their shop at 3:00 pm. They took my wife home while I waited.. Car was fixed by 4:00 pm. Realy nice people/. Will use them for more scheduled service work. Thank you all.

    ****I don't like writing negative things, but I want to save others from the experience I had****

    The first truck I've ever owned ('85 Nissan 720) was stolen a month after I purchased it. It was found a week later not running. I had it towed, AAA recommended this shop. Tow guy said it prob. just needed new battery and gas. It was late at night, dropped her off. Was called next day (1/24), approved them to assess my car. Told them, this was my first car, don't know anything about them, needed to get her safely running again. Was called back saying I needed new battery, battery wiring, and gas. They gave me an estimate of about $387.88. It seemed expensive to me, but I figured $100 for a battery and thought wiring might be labor intensive.

    (1/26) I got a call that my tail lights, turn signals and hazards were not working and needed to be diagnosed. I told them I'd read and ran into the problem of the hazard switch getting "stuck" in between on and off and blocking the connection for those lights to work. They said they'd get back to me.

    (1/31) Called to check on my truck since I had not heard from them. They told me they were searching for a multi function switch to fix the issue and would get back to me when they found one. Being that my car is older, I blindly assumed they are harder to find.

    (2/7)- Nothing from shop. Called again. They were waiting to hear from 3 different people about the part, but once they had it, would be quick to fix.

    (2/7)- A few hours later got a call saying they'd found one part I needed, but they were unable to locate a new hazard switch. I was given an estimate of $550-$560 for parts and labor. When I asked why it was so expensive, they said the part was about $350. In that moment I felt like I was getting ripped off. I thought I should drive it to a new shop, but thought that....

  • Terrible Experience!!! I wish I had

    Terrible Experience!!! I wish I had read all of the negative reviews on Yelp before I took my car to Stan at Art of Maintenance! He did a shoddy job, overcharged me, and was incredibly rude and dishonest.

    I brought my car here after it was damaged in a break-in. Stan gave me an estimate of what each repair would cost, quoting $300 to fix the latch that pops the trunk! I told him to just leave it, it's not worth $300 to me. At this point he told me Lie # 1: He said I would be unable to lock the trunk if it was not fixed. I knew this was untrue, and called him on it. So we agreed he would leave the latch alone.

    When I picked up the car, the latch was fixed, for which I was charged $293! Assuming this was just a miscommunication between Stan and the other mechanics, I reminded him of our conversation. He remembered, but claimed that he was required to do the repair because my insurance company had included it on their itemized list of damage. This was Lie #2. This sounded shady, so I called GEICO, who told me that they don't require that anyone do the repairs.

    Finally, when I called Stan out on this, he simply denied that we had ever spoken about the trunk latch. Lie #3. Furthermore, he became incredibly rude and defensive, and refused to give me the contact information of the owner of the shop.

    As a side-note, the repairs that they did to my steering column were pretty shoddy and now my airbag light is lit. Awful experience.

  • They once were great but things have

    They once were great but things have changed. A water pump was quoted at $800, another shop did it for less than $70. A fuse box was $811 and incorrectly diagnossed. The other shop found a disconnected wire that fixed my problem and only charged 1/2 an hour labor.. Beware!

  • Top notch

    I would say that while Art of Maintenance is not exactly cheap, their quality of work and knowledgeable professional mechanics are top notch. (and remember, it's true in life, you get what you pay for) I played around with several single owner shops in the area but I couldn't get a clear agreement. By paying AoM $99 to use their expertise to carefully examine my whole car, and then share what they found with me, they won and I won. I controlled costs while learning what I might do to repair my vehicle, if I chose to continue with any of the repairs they suggested. And they were paid fairly for their time, and for the valuable information which they found out about my car. I'm budgeting for some other service-extending maintenance they recommended after I already purchased the more urgent repairs that I went into the shop for. In my opinion, Art of Maintenance can help car owners extend the life and value of their vehicles through their technical skills and knowledgeable recommendations. Art of Maintenance is now my regular, and exclusive, mechanic!

  • The most polite mechanic shop

    If someone asked me about my experience I would say that Stan must've had daughters because he talked me through my tears like a father would've!! Also, they went out of their way to help me. Having just had back surgery they arranged for one of the most polite young employee to give me a ride home when I had to leave my car there.Also, Justin was very helpful...and polite. I have decided that they are the most polite mechanic shop I've ever dealt with. I would recommend them to anyone and feel very comfortable in doing so!!! I plan on all future work being done there,as well as routine maintenance.

    These guys are great! They got my car on the rack quickly and performed a top notch service. Most importantly, they were super friendly and helpful, explained everything simply and made me feel totally comfortable. I'm going to make Art of Maintenance my regular mechanic.

    I brought my truck into the shop because my check engine light had been on several times. They could not find anything wrong even though they took it out several times. They didn't charge me, even though they had man hours to pay. As a female I always feel at a dis-advantage when finding an auto repair shop, but I appreciate that they didn't come up with any bogus charges! I think I found my go to auto repair shop! Thank you Justin. It's nice to get good honest customer service!
