A & M Tire Company
I bought my tires here in late 2011 because they were close and had good prices. But I have stayed with them because of their dedication to quality & satisfaction. Like others said, they are very fast, usually get right in and they get right to work. I have never felt pressured, and their advice has always been correct. This last time I stopped in because of a shimmy/shake that Firestone failed to diagnose during a previous oil change visit. A & M checked them and found a tire with a 'trifecta' of issues: screw in the tire, cracks around the tire bead, and an area of separation. They offered me an awesome deal on a set of high quality trade-in Continental tires. My car drives like a dream.I will continue to go there, even though I have moved to a different part of Portland. It's well worth the trip!

St Johns Tire Factory
The service my husband and I get here is unbeatable. We have tried so many other companies who have either offered horrible customer service or were looking to make an extra buck. At St. John's Tire Factory, you will get an honest answer, they will make sure you are happy & give you the best deal that they have to offer. We have become such loyal customers that we actually drive from Vancouver all the way to Lombard even for simple things like a tune-up or alignment. I highly recommend that you swing by and witness for yourself their excellent customer service and prices!

I was going to pay $500 to get my bearings and Hubs done at one of the most popular places in the north west, but my sister told me to compare prices, look up Google reviews and then make a decision. I decided to go with tire factory, Mark's tire factory best idea I've ever had thank you so much for the great service and thank you so much for the great prices $154.00! It does pay to do your homework. See you again next time I need help Mark!

Always very helpful and went over and beyond to help me out. I have a big SUV and low profile tires on 22 inch rims and he did all the work and found that my leak was not a hole in the tire but in fact when we got our tires put on they did not do it correctly. He ( with a smile) told me no charge! Seriously great guy and I will for sure be back. Thank you very much. Stephanie

A & M Tire Company
Great service (while I waited), fair prices too. Bought tires for my car which they price matched the lowest price I could get but for a better quality tire. Beat internet prices, owner is super fast and professional too.

Affordable Tire & Brake Co.
Quality customer service! I went in to replace two front tires, and one of the back tires I had put a quick patch on they took it out, cleaned it and put an innerliner patch free.

Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.
