Remax Van Lines
I needed to get out of my home by 11/26, the day before Thanksgiving. I had submitted my request for a quote on 11/21. I was contacted by a gentleman named Anthony and he was very helpful with helping me with a quote along with answering my questions. He was patient and took time to explain the process of moving to me, as well as helping me research his and other companies which i was revieving quotes from. He was able to give me a pickup date of the 25th and provided me with storage for 6 months. I was very worried going with ANY mover due to online posts about companies and how they have hidden agendas when they give you a low quote that seems to good to be true. I told him IF and only IF he did a satisfactory job that I would share MY experience and hopefully put another persons mind at ease that may have the same fears. When the truck arrived, Gavin and Courtney were very polite and professional. They packed all my electronics with care and made sure they put all the hardware to my furniture in a certain section so they wouldnt be lost (my biggest fear). They worked with on my storage rates, and allowed me to pro rate the last month. I decided to bring my whole home instead of the minimal things which i put in the quote, so it was a little more then i planned on spending. Never the less, they let me split up the payments and gave me time to pay it off, which was a very nice gesture to someone who's on a fixed income. When they arrived in Va, unpacked and assembled everything and they left the new place looking great. I do appreciate the fact that a company can still do things the right way, even as great as Remax Vanlines was, i hope I never have to move again! I am exhausted! ;-) Thank you Anthony and Christine for all your help and working with me.

Moving Buddies Inc.
I just moved a rather big home from Boca to Parkland. I had a lot of expensive things and was afraid to hire the wrong moving company. At the same time, there was no way I was going to move all of this stuff myself. I received a post card in the mail from Moving Buddies and just thought that these guys might be the right fit. Their ad was very professional and looked like a very friendly moving company. When I actually did call, I was helped by a man named Johnny. He set up for Allan to come to my house and give me a guaranteed price. Both Allan and Johnny were very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. I was so comfortable with them that I didn’t get any other estimates. On moving day, I was moved by 4 polite, hardworking movers headed by the crew leader named Eddie. Before these guys even moved one thing, they protected my whole house by putting down floor protection, padding my staircase, padding the doorways and they even wrapped all of my furniture in blankets. At the delivery, these guys put everything back together perfectly and helped me arrange the house the way I wanted it. It took Eddie two hours longer than Allan estimated, but they didn’t charge me anything extra. Eddie said that I had very nice things and he didn’t want to damage anything. I really appreciate what a great job everybody at Moving Buddies did and will definitely recommend them to anybody that I know is moving.

Nurizon Van Lines
I never move before to state to state move, is my first time. My brother recommended me to Nurizon Van Lines this company helped him about two months ago before. The sales rep David, was detailed, and seemed like he was going through everything about the move. After I provided the list of items, explained all the materials needed for the move, and guaranteed the price based on those items. His price was considerably cheaper than other company( I have online quote from other moving company also), so I booked the move with David. I have heard bad stories about moving companies but I needed to move . But I think this team knew how to coordinate the move pretty well. The dispatcher called 24 hours prior to the move as I spoke with David. They did a good job wrapping my furniture and pack my fragile items. For delivery I had to wait a few business days for my delivery to North Miami,FL. About 48 hours before delivery the dispatcher called me that the truck is on the way, two days later, I had my items!! I received my shipment as arranged and with only one item damaged( a lamp shade, but that isn't too bad!) . I would recommend Nurizon Van Lines, as they exceeded my expectations. #y212599

Nurizon Van Lines
I called Nurizon Van Lines after finding them online and the rep was very helpful and knew what he was talking about. He was going to come up and give us the estimate but he was couple hours away. He asked if I was comfortable with the price or the amount of time it would take and everything was good. I called a few times because I was nervous and wanted to make sure somebody was going to show up but they answered and knew what was going on each time I called. During the move, the weather was calm. The crew was good and careful with all our stuff. We had a little scratch on our couch because it was pushed through the door. That was the only negative part and I should have inspected everything a little more closely before they took off but overall, I was pleased with their job. 3 stars. #243102

American Van Lines
I felt bad for the movers because they had to take my things down 3 flights of stairs since the elevator was broken (as always). I warned them about the elevator long before my moving day so I didn't have to pay a dime extra. 2 of the guys were upbeat and professional the whole time but one of them did nothing but pout and drag his feet around my apartment. Maybe he was a trainee or something. Anyway, despite that one lazy mover, they got the job done in about 3.5 hours and none of my things were broken or stolen en route either. This company was good because I got cheap movers (I didn't have a lot of money at the time) and they were always standing by to answer any questions that I had. If you're stressed out about moving and you don't know what step to take next, I recommend these guys.

American Van Lines
Booked this company and expected great things. The lady in customer service kept going on and on about how they book hundreds of moves per month and never let their clients down. So I guess I was a rare case. To be completely honest about things, they did have the most affordable rates out of all the companies I called. That was probably the main reason I decided to hire them.Unfortunately, I think they book so many moves that they are unable to pay attention to each customer the way they should. It was hard to reach my customer service agent just to get an idea of where my furniture was. The movers who delivered my items were pleasant and professional, but that didn't make up for all the frustration I endured from start to finish. Thank God none of my furniture was messed up!

Nurizon Van Lines
I wanted to take a moment and write a review about Nurizon Van Lines. When I first started searching for moving companies I was very nervous, especially since I read so many horror stories on the internet about moving companies. I chose Nurizon because they were the only ones who offered a visual survey and their customer service was really good in the initial stages.Nurizon was a bit more expensive than other companies I was speaking to, but I didn't mind since I was looking for quality. The movers from the start were on time and handled partial packing on the day of pick up. The delivery date was accurate and the off-loading at destination went smooth. I'm very happy with my choice to pick Nurizon Van Lines and I would use them again for my next move.

Arrowline movers Inc.
Needed to move my son from Coral Springs FL to Lakeland FL. 4 Hours away. Called Uhul, Ryder, Penske and all were over $1300.00! Then remembered I used Arrowline Movers Inc before. Called up the owner Todd. What a wonderful man and professional team. Price was so reasonable and so much better than moving myself! Less than all of the rental trucks without the hassle and someone else loading and unloading. I used Arrowline Movers, Inc. before to move my dad into Assisted living. It was a breeze! I was overwhelmed with my father's move. Todd came in and boxed everything and moved my dad within the same day! No hassle, courteous, prompt and reliable.Any type of move, Arrowline Movers, Inc. seems to be there for me! Couldn't do it without him!

Remax Van Lines
I cannot say enough about how wonderful the Florida division of this company conducts business. Remax Van Lines of Pompano Beach Florida are simply the best! The driver we had, Vince Merendo, was just wonderful. Professional, courteous, prompt, caring and efficient. The load arrived as promised, at the time promised and was unloaded here in Philadelphia with no damage. The crew in Pompano was amazing, I am a glass artist and had 18,000 lbs. of equipment and glass to move. They worked incredibly hard. They were careful and respectful of our items. Here on the Philadelphia side, the crew was just as good. All three were just wonderful. I will absolutely use Remax again as we will be moving within 6 months.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
