Huge store, great selection of products, very friendly staff. I just feel that some of their prices can be beat by online retailers.
We recently bought a computer at Best Buy. The price was marked at about $700.00, which was a fairly good price considering the features. What was frustrating is the salesman tried to sell us so many different warranties and service contracts. We really weren?t interested and he made us feel like we were making a terrible mistake. We did purchase a few hundred dollars worth of services, including their virus scan. The computer is great and the store was nice. I just was not expecting the forceful sales tactic. If you need certain services to guarantee the life of the computer, they should include it in the cost.
My Refridg/freezer is still under warranty. The Ice Maker has failed. I had an appointment set for 2pm to 4pm. I did not get any calls and at 5:30 I started tring to find out what happened. At 7:00 the tech showed. Did some diagnostics using paperword from under the unit. This paperwork had the instruction on it to run the diagnostics. I was told that parts would be orded that day and set an appointment for 1 1/2 weeks later. 2 weeks have come and gone and still no word from either the tech or Best Buy. I called and after a very long wait was told that they could not find an order and would have to do a search. I would be notified in 2 - 3 business days of their findings. This will put it at close to 3 weeks. I asked about compensation and was told no. But I could file a complaint against the tech. I asked why Best Buy does not have a tracking system to know what is going on with open tickets and check to see that service is performed timely but the woman didn't know. This was my 1st appliance purchase from Bust Buy. I am going back to SEARS. I have only had great treatment and have had great service under warranty repair and when the warranty was gone. Five stars for SEARS. One star for Best Buy (or should I say Worst Buy).
Staff knowledge and service at this Best Buy could improve. The staff was mostly friendly but not particularly helpful and had to ask each other for answers to my questions.
