As a resident for 16 years I must say, things have changed for the worse. The new board members are power hungry, retired, busy bodies. Yes, the two people that used to run things were a little shady but no we live in a constantly monitored development. I am very disappointed in the ways things have changed. The president walks through the parking lot with his phone in his hand recording and asking neighbors if they know where a certain family lives. He says they are getting evicted and they were. They have spent money on cameras, unnecessary light fixtures and umbrellas for the pool. Yet, the elevator gets stuck between floors and the "vanity" security gate constantly malfunctions. The gym is pathetic and most of the equipment is old and broken. The roof is leaking into bedrooms, the patio overflows from the second floor and leaks into my neighbors' living room on the first floor. The building is old I get that, but it really needs to be kept better. Parking lot turns into a pond if it rains for more than one hour.On the bright side, I have very kind neighbors and we have dinner in each other's homes, it is very close to the highways, and the schools are graded well.

They simply don't care. Jean, Joe, Jimmy, Frank, and the others I have yet to meet just don't care. They don't have to, because they pocket HOA fees, work 3 hours a day, don't work Fridays, don't answer the office phone, don't have an email, website, nothing. The elevator certificate has been expired since 2013, none of the bikes in the "gym" turn on, and only 1 out of 3 treadmills work. Worst part, there is NO ONE else to complain to.
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORSE PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED IN. THE CHILDREN ARE RUNNING AROUND WILD AND COMPLETELY UNSUPERVISED THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY, VANDALIZING THE PLACE, TRASHING IT AND DISRESPECTING ADULTS. THE ELEVATORS GET STUCK ALL THE TIME AND THEY SMELL LIKE WET DOG, SINCE THEY ALLOW ANIMALS AND THE RESIDENTS DO NOT CLEAN AFTER THEM. THE POWER GOES OFF IN THE LAUNDRY FACILITY IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR WASH AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. CARS GET STOLEN FROM THEIR PARKING LOT ALL THE TIME. IT’S LIKE A SHOPPING CENTER FOR THIEVES. THE LAUNDRY FACILITY HAVE NO AC, NO WINDOWS, NO FANS, IT’S 200 DEGREES IN THERE. THEIR BOWLING ALLEY HAS NOT WORKED IN YEARS AND WILL NEVER GET FIXED. THE DUMPSTERS CANNOT HOLD THE AMOUNT OF TRASH THAT IS CREATED FROM ALL THE PARTIES THEY HAVE EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND IN THE CLUB HOUSE, SO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY ENDS UP SMELLING LIKE A HUGE TRASH CAN. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING OR RENTING HERE, DON’T. YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY REGRET IT. THE PLACE IS DIRTY AND SMELLS.
My experience dealing with Mar Lago Village was completely unacceptable. My husband and I moved in with our dog in May 2012 while Mar Lago was under ZRS Management. A man named Louis had taken us through paperwork and we moved in quite quickly. The apartment had recently been renovated and was a great space for us at the time. I can say that the maintenance staff was very friendly, and responded to my calls as soon as they could. That said, the maintenance request ticket system didn't work, so I would have to call into the main office every time something broke. The main issue we had with Mar Lago was upon moving out. Behania, a member of the staff, had pointed out a 4 inch x 4 inch stain in the carpet. Though neither of us can confirm that it was a urine stain from our dog, the management company made the decision to replace the carpet in the ENTIRE apartment, including the stairs and 2 bedrooms. I will note that they confirmed that the one stain was all they found. They also chose not to keep the carpet tacks in, charging us an extra $100, when they easily could have saved us the cost. Because it was convenient to them to replace the entire carpet, instead of just the portion that "was ruined", they went ahead and did so without calling us first to investigate. They also claim that our dog had eaten at the carpet on the stairs, when even the maintenance staff can prove that we had a gate at the top of our stairs to prevent our dog from going down. We now have a large bill to pay because of this. The point I am trying to make is that things look great from the beginning with Mar Lago. But the second you move out, please expect another large charge for their convenience. I would recommend finding another place to avoid the headache and unfair demands that my husband and I are experiencing.
