Nov 30, 2015- DebbieDebbie Pouncey Moulder reviewed Passport Motors — 8 mins · I recently purchased a 2006 Volvo S40 for my 16 yr old son at a great price from an individual but it needed several repairs and I had no idea how expensive these repairs could be. I live on a very limited income and I called at least 30 service departments that work on luxury cars and phoned the dealerships, only to get exorbitant quotes and very mixed information on repairs. Even the places I took it in to were giving different information on what needed to be done and the prices were all very high. The last call I made was to "Passport Motors Service Department" and I spoke with the kindest man, Arthur Pena in sales and service. I spoke with him about all the mixed information and high priced quotes I was given and he said to bring the car there and leave it with him for a couple of days and he would diagnose the car and get back with me. The very next day he phoned and told me what needed to be done and it was almost half the price of the other places. It turned out that many of the repairs I was told by the other service departments and the dealerships were completely unnecessary and way over priced. Please try them out. They were so nice and had the work done in no time! I don't believe I have ever dealt with a better service department. I highly recommend Passport Motors for repairs!

The Auto Shop
My husband & I have been taking our cars to the Auto Shop for 14 years and couldn't be happier. We have trusted them with everything from a classic 1980 Mercedes 380SL to our current 4Runner and their repairs have always been well done and their service is second to none. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and customer-service focused. When they tell me a repair needs to be made, I know for sure it needs to be made. I've even taken my car in for something and they've told me it doesn't need it. Again, I trust them. Even when my mother-in-law moved to Missouri, she would drive all the way here to bring her car to the Auto Shop for routine maintenance. We recently moved from Richardson, making the Auto Shop too far out of the way in most cases. When we asked them for a recommendation for a mechanic shop in this new area, Jerry the owner researched, talked to the shop and emailed a recommendation to us. Talk about service! I can't recommend them highly enough!

Speedy Collision Repair
Hugo S. 9/15/2014-10/04/2014I was referred to Speedy for my collision. Not knowing them I trusted God that everything will be ok. After all, once I met Mr. Martell he told me not to worry at all that he will take care of me and my car will soon be ready. After taking his word, he was completely correct. He saved me a lot of money and when my car was done he also gave me a full car detailed worth $130. Mr. Martells goal is to save people money and of course help people out with deductibles. I highly recommend this auto shop not only because Mr. Martell kept his word, but because they left my car feeling like I just bought from a new car dealer! I really appreciate everything he and his staff did to get it done as quick as possible and definitely will be referring people to his shop!

Speedy Collision Repair
I brought my car into Speedy Collision after someone hit my husband and I head on and took off. I had a alot of front end damage. The accident happened during the week of Christmas, not fun! I did however manage to get through the holidays thankful that we are still alive. We went in and spoke with Alfonso about our damages right before Christmas, he was very courteous and professional. We decided to bring in our car after the holidays. From the the time we first spoke with Alfonso and his team, until the time we picked up our car, we couldn't have been more pleased. Our car turned out beautiful, much better than before! They even worked with me on my deductible. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car back if we ever needed to again. Thank you Speedy Collision!!

Visible Changes (inside Collin Creek Mall)
So on Saturday night I got off work late and everything was closed so I went to the mall to find a place to cut my hair. I go to this barber shop next to sears and my hair was assaulted and did not fair well. I looked in horror and thought as this man is attempting to cut my hair and just stood up and asked him what are you doing. Yes I paid, I just wanted to leave. I do not recommend going there. So I role into Visible Changes freaking the hell out. Though it was the end of the night and they had not much time they still took me in, An angel named Alexys sat me down and fixed it the best she could. She did great, I appreciate her for doing this for me so late and I appreciate her managers allowing her to. She had a great personality as well and it showed :)

Samstone Auto Repair
I passed by here for a much needed oil change for my husband's car. Mike, the manager, was very helpful and greeted me with a smile. He pulled up my car to the garage and worked on the car immediately. Most of the time, whenever you go to these oil change places, they upsell you with other stuff and they seem insincere and pushy. Mike came by to tell me three things that may need to be changed eventually. He wasn't pushy and he wasn't rude. I've been to a lot of garages that have spoken to me rudely because I am a woman or thinking I would fall for their overpriced upsell. Mike thereafter just typed in what oncoming maintenance needed to be done. I am going to give this a five star because of the service and for doing a great job.

I came into the Samstone for a dying battery and state inspection yesterday. The manager came out to greet me after the initial tech came out, and invited me and my son to wait on the lobby. I said we'd run to the McDonalds next door for quick dinner, and he said no problem I'll come over to update you.I didn't think anything of it, but 5 or 10 minutes later the manager walked next door to McDonald's to let me know my battery needed to be replaced. He offered me a few reasonable options and didn't try to up-sell. Said it'd be 30-40 mins.Only 30 mins later the tech came back over to say my car was ready-- all the while my son got to play and eat some dinner. Great experience and I'd recommend.

Stellar Academy of Fine Arts
Love this school and the faculty!!!We visited this school earlier this year and was immediately impressed. We signed up our daughters for music classes with violin and piano. The teachers are great and the facility is built like a college music building. It's beautiful. Our daughters enjoy taking classes here and we are very happy with the results. They have learned more here than the public school private lessons. The public school lessons were just too short and they had pulled my kids out of orchestra and band class to do them! So we made a change to Stellar Academy of Fine Arts. This is by far the best music school we have attended in Dallas. Thanks!Jillian

Brakes Plus
I find this business to be professional, caring, reasonably priced and the employees seem to go out of their way to make the auto service business as comfortable and informational as possible. One of the employees returned my wallet which had fallen out of the car upon my leaving, and manager Anthony Wheeler is always professional and caring with gentle recommendations to my (the customer) benefit. I have seen him also handle himself professionally with young and old, and is courteous to both sexes. I'm a customer who brings the overwhelming majority of my car business for inspection, brakes and tires, and car repair issues to this business.

Samstone Auto Repair
Randy and Alec, and the rest of the team, saved my engine from burning up this morning! Turns out that the oil filter gasket was bad, and the oil went everywhere - including all over the engine area!. There was no oil left in the engine. The team quickly jumped into action when I pulled in with a smoking vehicle. Within a short time, they had diagnosed the problem, fixed it, replaced all of the oil and even CLEANED out the engine area. I was very impressed with the focus on Customer Service and the pride the team took in their work. Great job, Randy and team! Thanks.
Tips & Advices
Yes, many nurseries ship plants and trees, but inter-state shipping regulations are complex and strict, and nurseries must be in compliance regardless of whether that disallows a customer order. Also, even if items are allowed to ship, they might not survive if outside the proper USDA growing zones--in which case a nursery might try to discourage the customer from placing the order.
The ease of caring for fruit trees varies according to where you live, but lemon trees and apple trees are widely considered easy to grow. Pear trees are fast-growing but need to be planted alongside another pear variety to bear fruit. Stone fruit trees, especially cherries and plums, are popular in regions with defined seasons and cool winters.  In hot/humid regions, banana trees (producing small varieties of banana) and mango trees are known as “fast fruiters” that require little care.
Plant Hardiness Zones are the government-researched standard geographical breakdown of broad climate regions across the United States. The USDA has created a map of the United States, which includes 11 planting zones. This map helps gardeners determine what to plant when, based on accumulated weather data. Factors like soil quality and microclimates are not accounted for in the USDA Plant Hardiness Zones, and should certainly be taken into consideration as well.
Perennial plants and trees grow anew each spring, and are dormant in the winter. Annuals have a lifespan of only one growing season, and need to be replanted each year.
Evergreen is a term for plants and trees that keep some green foliage year-round. While the term “evergreen” is closely associated with pine trees, many other types of trees are also evergreen, including live oak, blue spruce, eucalypts, and most of the coniferous cousins of pine.
