  • The BEST PET STORE....AND RUDE OWNER, Hmmmm, well read on an

    I am absolutely SHOCKED to see someone wrote rude...Let me tell you a story.
    We have been going to Stateline since they opened on Plaistow Rd.They have fed our Birds,Guinea Pigs,Hamsters,Dogs,Puppies,Cats and a few other pets...we have gotten excellent advice on food, training but most importantly, medical advice, when to seek a vet(not just try and sell us a product to cure it...)but wait, THATS NOT THE STORY...So this doesnt take all day...after a decade in Plaistow, we LOST our beloved FAMILY HOME...and times just got worse and worse. So this past week, I went in to the store(**No, I didnt tell then our name so they could see what great customers we were and that we spent alot of money there over the years). I went in, with my pride gone, sucked it up and discussed how I could barely afford gifts for my son and that if they could spare a small bag of dog food, I would be very grateful...""I was so down but had to ask for the sake of my pup. (And before the haters start, you DONT KNOW MY STORY, one of illness and death and a crappy economy and greedy realtors, so dont start with it, BECAUSE THERE BEFORE THE GRACE OF GOD GO I...everyone gets there tesrt in life, what you DO with it is how you will be judged)**Back to my story...So I was taken back to see the owner, he looked at me and said No Problem, and got my dog the biggest bag they had. I cant tell you what that meant and how helpful that was.He didnt know that we have spent probably thousands over the years, he just said we cant have her go hungry...Thats it. This IS A KIND AND GENEROUS MAN! I KNOW PETCO AND PETSMART WOULDNT DO THAT!! So, Im not sure what the problem was before...we are all human and occasionally have a really bad day, but all I know is my dog is eating for a long time because of Dana's generosity!!!

    I recently purchased a pair of dog boots for my 20 lb. Boston Terrier. When purchasing these boots I was told if they did not fit or if he did not like them they could be returned in 30 days. My dog tried them on in the house and when doing so he fell and slipped several times. . I knew I needed to return them. When bringing them back to the store on a Sunday afternoon in perfect condition and in their original packaging I was told by the store manager that they coud not take them back and that I needed to speak with the owner Dana Post. who was not there at the time.
    I decided to call before drivng another 50 mile round trip back to Plaistow. After several attempts to reach him by phone he refused to take my call. He was either too busy or at a meeting. The owner Dana Post did not abide by his own store policy and did not have the courtesy to take my phone call. I would never purchase anything ever again from this store.

  • Best place to buy pet supplies

    I love this place. Its the best place to shop and they have a great selection of good products. The reason I shop here the most is due to the fact that they do not sell or deal in animals at all. Therefore, they do not support or condone puppy mills and animal cruelty. I could shop at any store on Rte. 28 in Salem as its right around the corner from my house and very convenient. I choose to travel to Plaistow and shop at State Line in doing my part in fighting animal cruelty.

  • Customer Service is lacking unless a manager is there!!!

    I moved to Newton 6 months ago and shop at Stateline for pet supplies twice a month. I think they have a great selection but unfortunately I have found some of the employees to be rude. I was there today (Sunday, August 2nd about 12:30) and the cashier was not friendly --not exactly outright rude but barely civil. I felt she didn't want to be there. I'm friendly and I expect to be treated with respect and this is almost every time I have gone in there. I am going to go to Petco instead. Today, when I went to the register it seemed I was interupting the conversation of the two women at the register. the dark blonde is the one that rang me up. If I was the owner I would want to be told. some employees are great but overall I feel this attitude every time I go in. I tried emailing the address on the site but It doesn't take in mail --hence the poor review.
