I disagree with this characterization of Dr. Majkic. He has been my PCP for 7 years and while he is not the most outgoing personality, he has always been very helpful. On my initial visit he did a thorough case history (smoking, drinking, family health history). I had a compressed nerve in my back and he was great about ordering tests and referring me to specialists until the problem was located. He referred me to a neurosurgeon at UPMC Mercy who is regarded as one of the best.Like most medical professionals now, he uses a laptop computer as a chart and he does type on it while he is talking, but I hardly think that constitutes "play".

MedExpress Urgent Care
We have been to this clinic twice. Once a couple of months ago and again today. Both times this place was fantastic! The facility was spotless, the staff extremely helpful from the moment you walk in the door. Service was prompt and professional. We spend two weeks a month in Pittsburgh and we will come back to MedExpress again if needed. By the way today the doctors felt that our duaghter needed more specialized care than they had and quickly suggusted we go to a hospital. Thank you for being professional and honest. This place offers great care!!!

Aesthetic Skin & Laser Center
The staff at the ASLC is marvelous. I got tired of having to put on makeup every day and decided to try permanent eye makeup. WOW. What a fabulous experience. I was a bit worried beforehand but it didn’t hurt at all. The eye liner is perfect and I get great compliments wherever I go. And, those extra 10 minutes in the morning were worth spending the money. I highly recommend you consider it. You will love it. A+++++++

Jennifer Fierle DO
Dr. Fierle and Aaron Difillipo took the time to find me Xanax that I could afford. Mr. Difillopo returns my calls and takes lots of time to find the solution to my problems. He is caring and thoughtful and no question is ever too much. Along with Dr. Fierle who has the same personality they make a great team. I can't thank them enough.Carol Peluso

Women's Choice Network
Women's Choice Network in Pittsburgh is an awesome source of support to those individuals who are looking for help on making a decision about abortion or parenting. The ladies really helped me through a tough season in my life. I didn't know how or what I was going to do. The support helped me make the best decision. I'm grateful to all of you.

Dominic A. Brandy, MD
Excellent experience with all of your staff. I felt comfortable every step of the way. I can call or email anytime with questions, comments, additional procedures. I have already referred to several friends. I would do this again and again, and I would certainly go to Dr. Brandy every time.

Tips & Advices
OB/GYNs learn to treat infertility as part of their standard education. OBGYNs who further their training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility are known as fertility specialists.
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment where medication is used to replace hormones a woman's body does not create naturally. Women are prescribed either estrogen alone or a mix of estrogen and progesterone. The former is given to women who've had hysterectomies, while the latter is for postmenopausal women. HRT used to be a common treatment, but doctors have prescribed it less often in recent years, as concerns of negative side effects increased.
Endometriosis is a chronic condition where uterine tissue (endometrium) grows in areas outside the uterus. This can cause extreme pain, especially around menstruation and during sex. Other symptoms include infertility, chronic fatigue, and painful urination or bowel movements during menstruation. In addition, many women with endometriosis also have allergies, frequent yeast infections, or sensitivity to certain chemicals.
Morning sickness is a common pregnancy symptom that includes nausea and occasional vomiting. Despite its name, morning sickness can occur at any time of day. The exact reason for this condition isn't clear, although most believe it results from hormone changes affecting muscle contraction and relaxation in the stomach and intestines. Another theory suggests morning sickness is caused by an abundance of intestinal bacteria in pregnant woman.
OBGYNs can prescribe or perform the following types of birth control:
  • Contraceptive pills
  • Birth control shots
  • Implants
  • Diaphragms
  • Vaginal rings
  • Cervical caps
  • Intrauterine devices
  • Tubal ligation
  • Hysterectomies
Women do not need to see an OBGYN to obtain over-the-counter forms of birth control such as male condoms, female condoms, or sponges.
