Bowling in Pittsburgh, PA
1.Pines Plaza Bowling Lanes

Not sure I can say enough about the new owners. Took a run down beat up place and turned it into a wonderful bright cheery welcoming place. \r They are always making updates and trying to make the place better. \r This is bowling the way it should be. Bumpers and ramps for my kids, great snack food. all the employees are friendly. Just feels like you are welcomed here. \r \r My daughter has had two birthday parties and will most likely have a third. Super easy party for me and all the kids had a great time. \r \r My oldest come here on friday nights for cosmic bowling. He has commented that they keep putting in new effects, something about cool lasers and crazy fog. Not sure about all of that but he and his friends almost beg me to take them.

Staff still took time to show us to lanes, tell us about specials. my son is in a wheel chair and i was suprised they had a lane he could use his wheel chair on , plus they provided bumpers and a ramp to make it eaiser....free of charge ! The food came out fast and hot. the egg rolls and wings were great and the pizza was good, but not as good as the other food. Great time, nice lanes, nice bar and pool room. will be back

My friends and I are casual bowers and enojoy going as much for the social aspect as to work on our games. Not that we are excessive drinkers, but while bowling 5 or 6 games at other local alleys the bar bill starts to get a little pricey. Here it is nice to be able to bring our own beverages with us, and still be able to enjoy ourselves and not feel like we are being gouged on the pricing. The place is very clean, and being smoke free is a definite plus! We will definitely be heading back.

$2 a game and $2 for shoes is a very average price.you either have 22 kids or you're used to bowling with the flintstones or you're a liar.or maybe you're just retarded.\r go back to watching queen latifah movies and leave reviews to the people with brains.

Forwardlanes is my home away from home. It's a beautifully maintained local alley. I love the owners. Reasonably priced beer and food. Great selection of house bowling balls, comprised of dozens of donated balls that are much nicer than the average house balls.

I recently took my two small children ages 3 and 5 bowling at Arsenal. We had such a great time it was so worth the money for the memory of my girls honestly out bowling their father. It was rather pricey but I didn't do my homework. As it turns out they have so many great specials to help keep the cost down just check out the website or call before you plan to visit.

20080622 - Dave Iglar Band at Paradise Beach, Neville Island. Any day on the beach is better than a day anywhere else. Even if that day happens to be on a river beach. Paradise Beach is a combination, bowling alley, bar and restaurant with outdoor activities such as a volley ball court, horseshoe pit, BBQ pit w/ covered eating area, an outdoor bar with a stage, tables, lighting complete with sand. You can pull up in your boat dockside, get off, eat, drink and enjoy some fine live music. Speaking of that, lets get down to business, music business that is. The Dave Iglar Band happen to be playing this sunny afternoon(at least it was for a while) and Dave on guitar, his daughter, Andrea, on Sax, got right down to it. The band plays a mix of rock, blues, rhythm, some classic southern rock etc. While I enjoyed the blues tunes the most, they played all equally will. I have to tell you, Dave is a very animated performer, he gets off the stage and literally right down to your table or stool, this I like, not too many performers do this anymore, not sure why? We had a great time, you need to get out and see them perform. Local talent like this is where the actions is so get out and see them and you will not be disappointed. Check their web site, www.daveiglar or www.pittsburghbluesconnection or the BSWPA calendar for their upcoming gigs.

Came here on a Thursday night for a few frames with my work friends. The name kinda threw me off, I didn't know what to expect. This place was clean, cheap, and the staff was great. I didn't eat from the snack bar so I can't comment on anything the menu. I got a soda for 2.50 that was free refills! Overall a great experience ensuring my return.

I bowling alley is located upstairs, so you have to carry all your equipment up a bunch of stairs. its out dated, as far as computer systems go, and as far as ball returns go. there are, i think, eight lanes, and four ball returns, but its not set up the traditional way. although small, they are still nice lanes to bowl at if your going with a small group.

I don't play often or well, but when the Wii is abandoned for more physical things - Coral Lanes, here I come! Saturday afternoon with the $2 a game special, the place is perfect -- it's clean, the help's friendly, the scoring automatic! On nights they have league play, the place is packed, other times, look for the open sign or call ahead. This is a local business, not franchise, and is nicely done.
30.Sports Haven Bowl
143 Carol Ave
Sports Haven, in my opinion, is one of the best places around to go bowling. While the general atmosphere of the place is more retro than most places nowadays, they have managed to keep up with the times while keeping prices affordable. They keep the lanes in great condition, oiling them at least once or twice a day - more if several leagues are running that day. The food they serve is great as well - they have a large variety of local favorites, and not just the standard fare. Sure, they have pizza and French fries; but they also have sausage, Philly Cheese steak sandwiches, eggs, chicken, and a vast array of beverages. Even the food is moderately priced as well. \r \r The biggest downside that Sports Haven has is its size. They only have 14 lanes, so if you show up during Cosmic Bowling hours, or just any busy time, you're likely to be made to wait for a little while. The bowling is well worth the wait though. Also, due to their size, they don't have very much parking.
