I have been a patient for almost a year and found the office using online reviews. I later found out my colleague has been O’Sullivan’s patient for several years. Wait times: Morning appts are the best- I’ve never waited more that five minutes for a morning appt. Late afternoon appts on Fridays never start on time and it is common to wait 20-50 minutes for the appointment to begin. I prefer later appts so I just plan ahead and use the time to catch up on emails, watch the baby kick, and chat with my spouse. Front Office: Katie at the front desk is irreplaceable. I don’t know her title or position, but I assume she is the manager because she incredible professional, she makes it her goal to know the patients and spouses by name, she uses the patient’s time wisely when scheduling future appts, and she does everything with a smile! The other women at the front desk are never friendly and seem to be put-out when I ask a question on the phone or face to face. They answer the question, but I think they prefer to be uninterrupted. Doctor: Erin O’Sullivan is my prenatal doctor and Kathy is her medical assistant. Kathy is a perfect partner to O’Sullivan. She is sweet and excitable and loves hearing pregnancy updates. I enjoy our quick encounters because she is caring. O’Sullivan is awesome. She is not sweet or giggly, but that isn’t her job. She is professional, dedicated, and passionate about her career. She is overtly honest with her answers and rarely sugar-coats. She supports natural childbirth and alternative birthing options and will give her professional opinion using years of experiences from the hospital and midwife/physician community meetings. She doesn’t give an answer to a question in hopes that you like her answer; she provides you the response she thinks is best. I will continue to visit O’Sullivan for my annual exams and future prenatal exams because although she is not sweet, I know she is passionate and dedicated to the well being of her patients. Unexpected Situations: Once, I called the office at 6AM on a Saturday because I was concerned about symptoms I was experiencing. I left a message with the after-hours rep and Dr. O’Sullivan returned my call within about 30 seconds. She answered my concerns, made suggestions, and did not rush off the phone. I could tell that I woke her just because her voice was different, but she did not seem put-out at all. She has told me in the past that she chose a 24 hour career and she embraces it. Overall, I strongly recommend this office. Staff come and go so I don’t worry about the two I’ve encountered who aren’t customer-service oriented. Katie at the front should be your go-to person so try avoiding the others if you have questions and don’t want to have a negative experience. Kathy and Dr. O’Sullivan are great! I’ve also met with two nurses, Bergdale and another- once during a last minute scheduled appt (I was experiencing uncommon bleeding in second trimester and O’Sullivan was at the hospital] and once during a routine visit [I rescheduled at the last minute]. No complaints from either appt. The medical team is incredible.

The Core Institute
THIS GROUP OF DOCTORS IS SO BIG, SO COMPLEX THAT IT IS LIKE CALLING A GOVERNMENT AGENCY. NOT GOOD.The Core Institute is has a very slick web page, fancy offices, and a great public relations company writing their ads.... they also have wonderful doctors. Where this Institute looses big time is in their inability to build a decent phone/message system to match the "World Class" image they have bought.Really they can get surgeries schedule faster than anyone. Really their doctors ARE SUPERIOR that the average doc you will bump into in the Ortho field. Really they do have very good support staff and the very latest x-ray, MRI equipment. So at it's heart the Core institute is a very good facility... but it is NOT a USEFUL facility because it takes, on average, 12 min. to get through the phone tree (the hold waiting is one long very pompous infomercial that will drive you crazy). Then you will get a call center person (yes they are that big an organization) - their call center people are very nice but wait there's more! After waiting 12 min. to get a call center person - they will then TRANSFER you to the department you wanted, then you get ANOTHER INFORMERCIAL that can take another 5 min. or more, and then you get -- VOICE MAIL - at which point you leave a message. Occasionally, you might get a real person to answer and they will take a message to forward when they can to the person you were calling. In other words, it's a nightmare. And they do answer messages - but only in an average way - sort of hit or miss. So You can't just call ask for the nurse of your doc, talk to her or leave a message, you have to Call the institute, wait about 15 min on infomercial, get a call center person who will then transfer you to either a "triage nurse" or the voice mail of the person you wanted to call, you then talk to the triage nurse who will leave a message for the nurse who works for your doctor - and maybe you will get a call back - L A T E R. So there are so many layers to get through to just have a simple conversation with your docs staff that you will need to be institutionalized after dealing with the Core Institute. It's a shame but the Core Institute is so big - it is like dealing with a Federal Government agency... and you know what it is like calling a government agency. My advice - find a nice local Ortho Doc and get to know his staff - you will be happier in the long run.

Dr Sand is a very good doctor my opinion. He is thorough and caring. He treated me like I was important to him. BUT, I must warn you readers to beware of his office manager. This woman is very rude and abusive over the phone and even worse when dealing with her face to face. She literally yelled at me in front of other patients. I happened to be undergoing a very intense treatment. This treatment lowered my blood count down to 4, I did not feel I could drive that particular day so I had to call a friend to take me to my appointment. when I arrived I was feeling terrible with a ferver to boot. I was 5 minutes late. This He/Woman was screaming at me to the point she made me cry. I have never been treated like this crazy lady treated me that horrible day. I will never forget her mean ugly crazy face as she berated me in front of others. The other office staff were also mortified by the treatment I was receiving from this demented person, they whisked be away into a room where the nurse profusely apologized for the crazy lady's outburst. As I said, I was very ill that day and did not have the strength to defend myself. I never wanted to lay eyes on this witch ever again, but I was in the middle of a long treatment with my Doc. I have since finished this treatment but today needed to schedule a follow up appt. and who should I be lucky enough to have answer my call... The Crazy Woman. After another conversation with her again yelling at me I had to hang up, not before I stated my mind. This "office manager" has been mentioned on many other rating sites. I see why all the other staff that was there when I started going to Dr. Sand are no longer working there. What a piece of work this horrible person is. I don't know why she is not working a job better suited for her like maybe a drill sergeant, a prison guard in Russia or someone who can club baby seals for fur. I despise this woman and I'm not that kind of person. I am tolerant and kind, but this "office manager" can really bring out the worst in anybody.

My family loves Dr Radoff! My mom & dad have been going to him for many, many years. Dr Radoff is the unique blend of being both an MD and a Homeopathic doctor. That means he knows intimately both traditional medicine as well as alternative treatments very well, so he can evaluate each patient's needs and treat them with the best tools available. He treats the whole person and he cares about what they are going through. He has been in practice for many years, so we trust his many years of experience. But he is never content with just that. He is constantly reading research studies, attending continuing educational seminars and seeking new, cutting edge therapies. He is kind, honest and very upfront with the patient & family about what he sees and what he thinks needs to be done. If you ask a question & he can't answer it immediately, he is honest enough to admit that he doesn't know everything there is to know about everything. But he also goes out & does his homework to find out the answer for you. I can personally recommend Dr Radoff very highly!

I feel so incredibly fortunate that my PCP recommended Dr. Sand for my Gastroenterology related issues. After having been seen by several other GI doctors, Dr. Sand was the only one who immediately and correctly identified and treated my medical condition. I found Dr. Sand's expertise, professionalism, compassion, and thoroughness to be exceptional and exemplary. I can certainly appreciate why my PCP refers his GI patients to this amazing physician. I also found his wonderful staff to be very kind, caring, and accommodating throughout my relationship with the office. It is without reservation that I recommend Dr. Sand for your Gastroenterology health care and needs!

How do you put into a few short lines what a doctor has been towards you? Dr. K has listened to me and gave me some of the best advice towards the look I've been looking for & has performed many miracles for me. I trust Dr. K completely with my life, and any judgement calls that he feel he needs to make. I recommend him to anybody looking for the BEST plastic surgeon in Phoenix. My only regret is that I didn't find him before I became a "frequent flyer".. so to speak. Anybody would be VERY, VERY pleased.. oh yes.. the icing on the cake is the wonderful gals that he has working for him to make sure the office runs smoohtly. The absolute BEST!!!

My 6 year old son was in an accident and shattered his femur 6 months ago. Dr Swanson was at the hospital when they flew my son there. He did the surgery that night and put two rods inside his bone to hold it all together. That was the first route he wanted to go. He also had two back up procedures in case the rods didn't work out. He would come and check on my son each day to see how he was doing. He is very nice and communicates very well what he is going to do. He just took the rods out yesterday and my son is doing great I am so glad Dr Swanson was the one to fix my sons leg. I would recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr Swanson.

Dr. Radoff has found the root cause for many of my complaints or illnesses and been able to resolve them. He is very caring, knowledgeable, and will spend as much time with you as needed. He uses many homeopathic remedies, one of which got my blood pressure under control after years on medication. I no longer need meds for HBP. He also did some genetic tests that no doctor had ever suggested that pointed out some of my weak areas that we are now addressing. I feel time spent with doctors in the past was kind of a waste of time, he's done more in 8 months than they ever did

The staff is very professional and prompt in scheduling me for my appts. The Doctors take the time to listen to me and really work to find the best treatment plan for my condition. The Doctors are experienced and very professional with their care for me. I have gotten great relief from my low back pain and can actually function in my daily activities without pain for the first time in a long, long time! I would highly recommend them to any of my family or friends.
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
