Vanaken Pet Hospital
Dr. Suzanne Johnsen at the Van Aken Pet Hospital is so kind hearted. My wife and I ran into financial difficulties but our pit bull got into a fight was was in extremely bad shape. She operated on him and patched him up. Whereas the bill should have been huge she worked out what we could afford. We highly recommend her and her staff because the animal welfare always comes first. I will always take my pets to her and when I can pay her the price she deserves I will make it up to her. For now, I am so happy we have Ralph back. We love you Dr. Johnsen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pet Paradise
Utilized their doggie day camp twice this week with excellent outcomes. From the organized reservations upon arrival to picking up my dog in the evening; everything went very well. Most importantly, my shy dog was very happy upon his return on the second day. This I know meant he really enjoyed his time there. Good people, good facilities! We will be going back!

Vanaken Pet Hospital
My name is Sadie and my mom took me to the hospital. Dr. Johnsen, Tony and the staff gave me the royal treatment while I was there and I healed up fast. I now run and play even better than before. I recommend her to all of my four legged friends.

Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic
I have had 2 feral cats altered here and have to say that I have not had a problem. I am now going to bring in a feral kitten that is 5mos. old also to have fixed. What other place would do this kind service for feral animals.

Tips & Advices
Pets that do not get along with other animals may incur an additional fee. Some facilities have special solitary sleeping and play animals for these types of pets.
A checklist for what to bring to a pet kennel includes:
  • Vaccination records
  • A favorite toy or blanket
  • Food and feeding instructions (if the pet has dietary restrictions or is a picky eater)
  • Medication (if necessary, in its original bottle and with written instructions)
Some pet kennels have veterinarians as part of their daily staff, while others only have vets part time or on call.
Most kennels can provide basic care such as administering medications, but owners of pets with serious medical issues should choose a facility with a veterinarian on call.
Bordetella, commonly known as kennel cough, is highly contagious, and most dogs catch it at least once in their lifetimes. As such, all dogs should be vaccinated at least 7 days before boarding.
