Christown Animal Hospital
I moved to Phoenix from Texas in the summer of 2013. I had been with my previous vet for 23 years. They had become more like family than doctors. One of my top priorities was to find a vet. I selected Christown Animal Hospital because they were just a few blocks away. I admit, I was a very hard sell. Now, it has been almost two years taking my two dogs and two cats to the hospital. I couldn't be happier with the very professional service I've received. They have successfully treated by 23 year old cat for diabetes and she is doing great. They are treating my 13 year old dog for arthritis and she is getting around great. Last March, I added a puppy and Christown has done a fantastic giving her the start she deserves and I feel confident that Christown Animal Hospital will be there for her every day of her life. For that and all my other animals, I say "Thank you" to Dr. Sandhu and all the staff for the help given to my family and all the care you will give in the future!

Great surgeon. I am a client of Dr Sandhu since year 2002. He is taking care of my 2 dogs and a cat. I always got great services with a affordable prices. This week I adopted a new cat and took her for a spay and declaw. I was surprised with the surgery it was a very small incision and cat was back to normal when I took home like she never had any surgery. In 5 days declaw and the spay incision was completely healed without any complications. I know Dr Sandhu had a great diagnostic and treatment skills with 32 year experience. Now I realized he is a great surgeon also. I always recommend my friends and family to visit Christown animal hospital and boarding.

Dr Sandhu saved my little Doxin Rorak in 2004. I tried 6 different hospital no one could figure out what is the problem. I went to Dr Sandhu on my friend's reccomendation he was working for Banfiled at that time. During the first visit he performed the blood work and diagnosed as Valley Fever. Withen a week my puppy was running around. Since than I am following him. He worked for Estrella Animal hospital, I followed him and than in 2006 he bought Christown animal hospital. I am taking all my dogs and cat there and highly reccomend every one to try Dr Sandhu. Thanks for your great review.

Went to a few places to try to get my dog Heman stitched/stapled up after a fight he got into w/ our other dog. After leaving one place near my home it seemed they were trying to take advantage of us so we came here to C.A.H and had him fixed for less then half the price quoted by other vet. Staff was very concerned about Heman & when they saw him they immediately got to work on the poor guy. A few hours later we got the call he was ready for pick up, took my dog about a month to hill and over 60 staples but he's good as new thanks to C.A.H. Thanks staff!!!!

I brought my cat in to have a ruptured tumor removed from her stomach. When I called them Monday morning (the rupture occurred over the weekend), they were able to get us in right away. I was very relieved to have to have such quick service. Additionally, the vet found a second smaller lump that my original vet missed and he only charged me half of what I was quoted for the tumor removal at my original vet. I was very pleased! My cat is doing well after her surgery and they have called to see how she is progressing. I am a fan of this animal hospital.

We would like to send a big THANK YOU to Dr. Sandhu and staff. He diagnosed our black lab mix, Hazel, with bone cancer in her front leg, after an initial diagnosis of arthritis. He advised us of our options, and the costs associated in a very honest and up-front manner. We decided on amputation, to get rid of the cancer and relieve herof the pain she was in.The surgery was performed with great skill, and our beloved dog was up and hopping around only two days afterward!I highly recommend Christown if you need an honest and caring vet!

I brought my saluki to Dr Sandu to have an infected toe amputated when another vet was unable to cure the infection. My dog is very precious to me, and he received first class care! I cannot express how grateful I am for the care and concern of both The veterinarian and the staff. The surgery was three weeks ago and my dog is walking on that foot again for the first time since October. He is happy and playful and pain free. Thanks to everyone at Chris Town animal hospital for this wonderful outcome.

Thank you Doctor for seeing our prego cat today and saving 3/5 babies! Not only did you save our cats life, but managed to save three babies that were on their way out. This place was great. They allowed to come in at the last minute, charged us 50% less than three other vets in the area, and the doctor followed up personally to let us know how our cat was doing . I would highly recommend this practice - he is in it for the animals and not necessarily the money. Thank you so much!!!

Christown Animal Hospital
This is the man to see. Little family business that has only one doc--who is kind-hearted, honest and way more interested in seeing an animal be safe and healthy than in squeezing the owner for money. Prices compare to the Humane Society's low-cost clinic and are excellent. He took the time to teach me how to give my cat subcutaneous fluids rather than have me have to bring her back in repeatedly.ALL my pets will be brought here as long as I remain in Phoenix.

I have been coming to Christown since 2006 and consider this a great place to bring your pet... I have been consistently bringing my large dogs, small dog and cat here, and my pets are always happy and well taken care of. One time my big dog was really sick, and they took him right away with no appointment. It is also an excellent place to board, really affordable prices and I know that my pet will always be loved here while I am away.
Tips & Advices
Bring medical records and medications that your pet is taking. Also, you should bring your ID and a form of payment.
Yes, there are veterinary clinics that only deal with emergency cases. They generally take walk-ins and referrals from family vets.
Yes, emergency vets treat dental emergencies and dental trauma. Freshly fractured teeth are the main category of dental injury that vets consider an emergency.
To prevent health emergencies, experts recommend supervising one’s pets, and trying to make sure they don’t get into emergency situations. A majority of emergency vet visits happen because animals were struck by cars, bit by other animals, or ingested toxins. Otherwise, the best way to prevent emergencies is by having a go-to vet you can call with any questions, and being vigilant about potential symptoms (i.e. runny stool, or trouble walking) as they appear but before they become extremely serious.
Experts say that the conditions that necessitate an emergency veterinarian visit include collapse, seizures, inability to walk, partial paralysis, and any difficulty breathing (non-stop panting, constant coughing, hyperventilation, or elevated heart rate). Gum color is often an indicator that something is wrong--especially blue gums or very pale gums. Excessive vomiting or a distended abdomen should be considered an emergency situation. Signs of any trauma or excessive bleeding should send your pet straight to the vet. Lastly, for cat owners, urinary obstruction is fatal if not treated, and generally occurs in male cats.
