CONSUMER BEWARE!!! A sales representative from Aptive visited my home recently and I told him we were happy with our existing pest service. He offered $89/quarter and, since we had been paying $60 every two months with no issues, I said there wasn't much reason to switch. At that point, the sales rep (Brandon in Phoenix) indicated that the first quarter of treatments was FREE. Ok I figured - that is at least a small cost savings and I decided to give them a try. Fast forward to today - one month after the initial treatment, still the same quarter - and I get charged $89. I go back and check the paperwork more closely and turns out we're on the hook for four $89 treatments, one each quarter. The initial treatment was the only free part. So basically, their scam is FIVE quarterly treatments... and you get to pay for four. Last I checked, a quarter is one out of four, not five. Now we're out $89 this quarter that we were not planning on spending. We've also seen bugs again (never did over past two years with previous pest service). When I called and spoke with a manager, he more or less said "oh it was a miscommunication, but there's nothing we can do." I asked for a refund of the $89 and the manager said they could credit my account by the money would still be owed. Then he grilled me about why I hadn't noticed until now. What in the world?! I feel scammed by their misleading sales pitch - and even lied to after discussing with the salesman Brandon that the free quarter was the only reason I could justify switching. Upshot: If Aptive knocks, just say "thanks but NO thanks!" I had the above experience and on the top of that they can not stop my ant problem. Came out several time. I am still waiting for the results. They said it is hard to take care of ants and they lied during our first interview and said it is not a problem.

I recently signed up with Aptiv not having a reference, I really liked their offer. It's been hands down the best experience I've had to date with pest control. Johnie Camara is absolutely phenomenal and accommodating. I strongly recommend Aptiv Environmental!! -Brian R

I recently received my first quarterly service with Aptive. While the front office communication wasn't stellar, the technician (Colten Roscoe) who completed the service WAS! He was professional and took the time to figure out the miscommunication and educate on what was taking place. This restored my faith that service was being performed as stated. Thanks Colten!

I have been using Aptive for a couple of months now and am very pleased. We are getting so much more for our money than our previous bug service. We no longer have birds coming into our house or ticks climbing our walls from the neighbor's yard. We also have put a great dent into our mouse problem. I love how Aaron Obrien took time out of his busy schedule to not only make sure everything was sprayed correctly but to also make sure that all of our mouse traps were working properly. He did a great job!!

Tips & Advices
Ask your pest control company about no-kill traps you can use if you want to get mice, rabbits, opossums or other furry creatures out of your house without harming them.
Many pest control experts now offer environmentally friendly treatment for your home and yard with insecticides that aren't as harsh for the ecosystem. Check with exterminators around your area to see if they provide these kinds of services. Also, keep your plants free from harmful chemicals by spraying cedar oil or soapy water on your flowers.
  • Dispose of garbage regularly.
  • Don't ┬áleaving food or drink out.
  • Clean up after spills as soon as you can.
  • Drain any standing water in your house or yard.
  • Regularly mow and rake your lawn.
If you find insects and other animals trying to get in through cracks or openings, use a caulk gun to fill the gaps. You'll also want to either use traditional bug spray or a citronella candle to keep bugs such as mosquitos away from you during the summer months.
The price for exterminators can range broadly since they can charge for a monthly inspection and treatment. The final bill also comes down to the square footage of your property.
When pest control technicians visit your home or place of business, expect them to first identify what insect or other animal it is that's causing trouble. After identification, they will inspect your building to see where the pests are coming from and locate their hive or nest. Then the exterminator will spray or set out traps and bait according to which pest you have.
