Ahwatukee Commons Veterinary Hospital
This place is the best. When another vet told me my cat had 3 to 7 dies to live, i was distraught. 5 days later, my cat was a little slow, but didnt seem she was about to die. So i called here and they had me bring my cat in right away. They confirmed my cat had kiidney problems, but they were positive about her future. They have had her on an iv for the past 3 days and her blood levels are returning to normal. And my 7 year old best freind should be home in a few days with a healthy future. I know cats live short lives, but with the help of this vet, i may have several months, if not years with the best kitty i have ever known. The whole staff is very caring and concerned. I will never go anywhere else. If you are new in town or looking for an animal clinic, please try here first. I never write reviews, but i don't know how i can ever repay all of the wonderful people at this clinic.

PAWS - The Modern Spay Neuter Clinic
I had a wonderful experience in every aspect of getting my dogs spayed. I made the appointment online for the following week. I received a confirmation email and phone call the following day, explaining pre op instructions. Both of my dogs were scheduled the same day. I was greeted with extremely friendly and helpful people from the beginning to the end. They obviously have a love for all of the animals that they meet, and treat them like their own.The final cost was less expensive than it would have cost one of my dogs to get spayed by our vet. The incisions are tiny and healing quickly. They even include post op pain meds for no extra cost. The Dr. Followed up with an email the next day, "just checking" on how they were doing. I will recommend family and friends to PAWS as well as taking all of my future pets to them. Thank you PAWS!!!

I would highly recommend Dr Fisher and the staff at PAWS. Everyone was very professional and kind. The waiting area was large enough to keep pets separated if needed. No frills in the exam room but the focus was entirely on my pet and me. Dr Fisher went over some other maintenance recommendations for my young Boston Terrier and took his time examining her. When I picked my pooch up she was not groggy just a little quiet. Her incision was small and beautiful and the sutures were under the skin so there were no stitches to take out later!! I was given 3 days worth of oral anti-inflammatories. The total cost was $85!!!! I was quoted $360 at BF! Check this clinic out....they are conveniently located at the 101 and Cave Creek Rd.

This was the most amazing experience I have ever had with either if my dogs. I took Jazz in last Friday to get fixed. I got an appointment in a very fair time for a very fair price. Once arriving I was treated so nicely and given answers on my numerous amounts of questions. The wait time... I wait, there was a two minute wait!!! I have never had that before. Upon picking Jazz up ( which was the exact timing told) I was given great detail of the steps following. Receptionist, veterinarian, everyone was so amazing. I do not have one negative thing to say!!!! Great job!

I called to see about getting my dog spayed I was worried that she had just gone into heat and she was an older dog. The price was good. They had a cancellation so I got her in the next day. When I dropped her off I also checked the boxs to get all her shots longs she was rescue I didn't know were she was on them. They told me she would be ready around 2. They called me at 10am that she will be ready at 12:30pm. I picked her up and they explained everything. The price was cheaper than I had added in my head. They even clipped her nails. I would recommend this place.

Very friendly staff!! We were able to get our cat an appointment within the week where the vet went over all of the options and explained what we realistically needed based on him being an indoor cat vs. an outdoor cat. They called to check up on our newly-fixed male twice. Two separate phone calls to make sure he was okay!!! Amazing! Wonderful service and great pricing. I've already recommended them to anyone I know in the Valley looking for a budget-friendly vet.

PAWS - The Modern Spay Neuter Clinic
Dr. Scot Diskin came to Yuma and altered hundreds of animals in our community. Because of Dr. Diskin we were able to save thousands of lives with his exceptional surgery skills. His professionalism and great personality made him a pleasure to work with. The Humane Society of Yuma would be happy to have Dr. Diskin come to Yuma to alter pets again in the future. We are very confident in his ability to be a great Veterinarian for your four-legged friends.

Just had our almost 5 year old Boston Terrier in to be neutered and get his shots. The front office was very friendly and the check in process was quick and simple. The doctor was friendly as well. I felt like they truly cared about my pet. The cost was very affordable. Clinic was tidy and clean. We were sent home with pain meds in prefilled syringes. That is working perfect for us. I will definitely go back and recommendations do them to anyone. Thanks PAWS!

Village Animal Clinic
I have been with this clinic for several years, and they have been fantastic. They are always willing to help, very kind and nothing is ever too much. They return calls very quickly. I have 2 special needs dogs - who love to go there, without any fear. Their prices are very reasonable and that is very important to us as we have 3 dogs and 1 cat.Thank you, Ingrid & Klaus
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
