These people are completely incompetent. For a company that advertises "24 hour emergency service" I can hardly get someone to pick up the phone during normal business hours. I should have seen the red flags, but we still hired them to do a video inspection of the sewer drain pipe on a house we're trying to buy. The "report" provided was a hand written couple of sentences, barely legible, with little to no detail except a recommendation that the whole thing be replaced. The sellers would not accept this as proof for negotiation purpose. I asked several times for more specific detail and a copy of the video, with no response. Finally they sent me a second report, which was basically the same but typed up, with the street name spelled incorrectly! I have asked several times to speak to an actual plumber, but had no response from Deanna, the office manager. We have had to hire another company and are trying to get our money back!!

Active Sewer & Drain Cleaning Service
Absolutely great company. They worked hard and solved the problem I had with sewage backing up into my utility sink. Another company gave me a crazy analysis of the job and estimate. I called Active after an Internet search for a second opinion and I am extemely happy I did. They did the job, the right way, and saved me a ton of money. Honest professionals all the way!

Please do not rely on below good review rating as they are fake. Check the Philadelphia Court records to see cases against them.

Superior Plumbing, Drain Cleaning
We used Superior to do the plumbing for a bathroom that I was remodeling. They removed old tub, and installed the new one, as well as did all the rough-in work for the shower. I was given a fair price, and on time service, and will use again.

Superior Plumbing, Drain Cleaning
i found this company under the yellow pages while my basement was flooded with sewage on a Sunday night at 8 pm i called Superior Plumbing, Drain Cleaning & General Contractors they came in with about an hour. they pump my basement out, unclogged my drain, clean and disinfected my basement, and charge me a reasonable price for all the work they did.considering the time they were done was on 10 o clock at night. thank god for a decent plumber.

Superior Plumbing, Drain Cleaning
After several attemps to fix a pipe in my basement and not resolving the problem, a friend suggested Superior. They worked around my schedule, and found the real source of the problem was outside and didnt hesitate to repair it. They worked smart so the pricing was resonable. I will definitely use them in the future.

Superior Plumbing, Drain Cleaning
Mike from Superior came and repaired my curb trap a few wks back and did an excellent job. He came promptly to do his work and was completely professional. I researched plenty of plumbers before committing to Mike and he, by far, had the best price rates. Would highly recommend him as a plumber to anyone and will be using him for future jobs.

Tips & Advices
The following tools and common household objects can be used to clean drains at home:
  • A plunger
  • A drain snake
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Grease-fighting dish soap
Homeowners can mix boiling water with any of the last three products to break up grease and grime.
The main ingredients in clog removal liquid products are sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, both break down into relatively harmless components when it comes into contact with water or soil. However, both substances cause mild irritation to skin and internal tissues.
Also known as a drain auger, a drain snake is a coiled device around ┬╝-inch thick. To use a drain snake, put the end into the entrance of the drain. Turn the handle to force the snake deeper, using extra pressure to force it through the bend in the pipe. Keep turning until the snake hits the clog, then either pull the snake and remove the obstruction or force it through. Once the snake is out of the drain, run the water on full blast for a few minutes to ensure the obstruction is completely removed.
Plungers don't damage residential pipes, but the force created by the act of plunging weakens the seal between the toilet and the floor.
Many plumbers, both local businesses and nationwide chains, offer emergency or same-day services.
