Also we only got one return in the 5 yrs we went to this hack.Last year was the last straw. Sorry it took that long to realize he was robbing us.

Van's Hardwood Floors
Van came in with nice attitude swearing he would do his best. He started the job on a Saturday and left that night saying he would be back the next day. He did not return for two more days. The tiles in the kitchen are so uneven that you cannot walk in there barefoot! The ceramic tile were never sealed as promised. He left holes in the room with the hardwood flooring and after at least ten calls, he will not answer the phone. There is molding not put in place. The worst is the kitchen. You can get hurt walking on the floor, on the sharp exposed edges of the tiles. All I wanted was for him to fix it. He bluntly told me he was not coming back to fix any of the problems. Please go somewhere else if you want work done. Van is very unprofessional and a terrible contractor. Carole in South Philly

Burke Plumbing & Heating Inc
They did a horrible job the workers were very unprofessional and rude. They even smoked cigarettes in my home while replacing my bathroom. They constantly tracked my through out my home. They also tore up some concrete and did not lay it back correctly. Also the did not cement around my railing causing it Not to be secure.

Nelson's Plumbing and Heating
My parents just called to set up service for a rental property that they have my father doesn't speak any English the receptionist had an attitude problem and told my father no... so when my mother got on the phone and explained that the website clearly says that they speak Spanish she said ( The receptionist) we only have one person and did not want to help my parents. Please take off that you speak Spanish on your website because really you don't. And please hire a different receptionist who actually wants to answer the phone if you don't like your job get a college education and maybe you wouldn't be answering phones for $10 an hour.

Green Heating, Cooling, & Electric
HIGHLY RECOMMEND GREEN HEATING, COOLING & ELECTRIC; Our service technician was extremely knowledgeable, quickly identifying and correcting the problem, and we felt that their pricing was reasonable and fair; Having often experienced poor and unreliable service in the past, it was a pleasure to interact with this Company

Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
