The dark lady at the font desk with the dred locks is very ignorant. They are very unclear about their order of operations.

No stars for you. I WAS a patient of this practice. I now find this Dr. To be impatient condescending and rude. He literally tried to bully my son into getting a flu shot and when we refused he proceeded his bullying by trying to make me sign the form stating we decline the shot. Then if that wasn't bad enough he went on a complete tirade about how we were costing him money for not meeting his quota. I mean Really? Your quota? My son said he was rude, abrasive and showed no empathy. Now they are trying to stall giving us his test results I don't have a problem reporting you to the AMA, ARIA, THE STATE BOARD and wherever else I need to. Shame on You!

Today I needed to see my Doctor due to swelling, redness and pain in leg..and guess what was told COULD NOT SEE MY DOCTOR, FILLED UP. Why do I have a doctor, but when I need to see I can't! Frustrated! Told either go to ER or Emergency care. I am 78, a diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, knee replacements, heart stents. I didn't know what was wrong, but I was hurting and got absolutely no help in getting to see MY DOCTOR, or any other that might be open to see an emergency. Guess I'll have make my problems happen when I have a SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT....I am pissed off. Good news people I did get to see Dr. Dees at EPIC emergency at Rhawn & Frankford....have an infection in leg (thought maybe blood clot)...she understood my concern and took care of me. Thank you Dr. Dees....and boohoo to Einstein Mayfair for not coming to the aid of a registered patient who needed you in an emergency. When I do see my Doctor in person next time I will tell her. On another note had back xrays in July and STILL NEVER GOT A CALL ON THOSE RESULTS, even though I've asked a couple of times..think they should get NO STARS

Rakel, Birgit MD: Birgit Rakel, MD
If I could give a negative star review I would. I found Dr Rakel to be lacking in diagnostic skills and short sighted in her approach to treatment methodologies and clearly did not listen to her patients feedback. The so called integrated approach used in her office fuels this attitude as information shared with another doctor there in confidence (counseling session regarding patients past) made its way into a tirade from Dr Rakel when her frustration mounted. Unprofessional? I'd say a breach of doctor/patient confidentiality. Beware of this office, this practice and this doctor in particular. Steer well clear.

An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
