Things have changed. Used to be an amazing place for cheese steaks in NE philly. Now that they are under new ownership your steak had turned into a bread fest lined with steakums meat. Will no longer spend my money here and advise you to follow in suit.

I can't believe Marra's has never been rated. It has to be the BEST Italian Restaurant in Philadelphia. Hands Down! It's not expensive, casual setting and you can get in & out quickly. Try their pizza, which is the best overall in South Philadelphia. The mussels in red sauce are the best I've ever had anywhere. Although, I've been to New York and back as well as Italy, Marra's is the best Philadelphia has to offer in Italian food. It is consistently great, no matter which night you go. Don't miss it!

Great variety of pizzas and decently priced. You could easily split a med pizza between two people. The polenta bread pizza appetizer thing IS delicious. It was my favorite thing.
13.Lorenzo & Son Pizza Inc

drfear- youre obviously a complete idiot. do yourself a favor and dont talk unless your gonna speak the truth. The owners dont work there? rightttt.. considering the owners (2 of lorenzos children now that he has retired) work their assses off there. They keep a low profile so you dont know they own it but i promise you they are there working the counter- how do i know? lorenzo is my uncle. Considering i grew up in there and used to help out I can guarentee you there is nothing cheap about the sauce or cheese you ignorant twerp- ""a laundry mat for mob cash"" youre funny and thats ridiculous. \r \r also for everyone wondering why there arent seats- there were seats for years but legally if you have seats in a restaurant you have to also have a public bathroom. When they had seats little idiots (probably like drfear) used to go in there and shove paper towels in the toilets and sinks causing it to flood. The thing that made them remove the seats was someone set the bathroom on fire one time (a drunken idiot trying to smoke in there) and it caused a lot of damage to the upstairs of the building- it also ruined the old mural of lorenzo on the front. \r \r Lorenzos is a family owned and run business. Theyve been around for decades for a reason- because its great and a great value for the amount of pizza you get.

This is the best! Been going since I was a kid. my favorite is the White spinach pie. I now live in Florida and miss Tacs. Now when I visit we call a couple days ahead and order as many as 10 pies! Can't leave without a couple pies left for morning breakfast! My husband taks about Tacs all the time like a kid waiting for Santa at Christmas! See you again soon. All our best, The Squooch Family.

Hands down, the best pizza in Philadelphia! We got a large with peppers, mushrooms, sausage and pepperoni and it was delightful! Perfect dough (im a thin crust girl)! It wasnt too thick like a pan pizza but had enough that it wasnt anywhere near flimsy! All the toppings were fresh and it was a symphony of flavors in my mouth! I cant wait to get it again! My boyfriend finally took me after raving about! He didnt let me down, and neither did celebre's! Keep it up!

Lazaro's is the best pie in the city. I am only sorry I lived in the city since I was 22 and did not find them til the age of 28. It's like a NY style pie with paper thin crust and the best sweet sauce. We usually get extra cheese, also. I have to say, I have never had bad service there. They are always very nice to the point that I thought they had great customer service, and am shocked to see so many people say otherwise. Go get this pie - you will not regret it if you like the thin foldable style pizza.

The pizza is by far the best and most authentic pizza in the Philadelphia area. The dough and sauce is made fresh every morning. They throw it in the oven and swirl the sauce around the cheese just like at the Jersey shore. WARNING: If you are a WASP visiting from the South, you probably have grown accustomed to and prefer the southerner pizza AKA pizza soft crust pizza made from refrozen dough with ketchupy Prego sauce and overloaded with bland cheap waxxy shrink cheese like they use in the less savory national chains. Alex's pizza is high quality and real-deal authentic, like the way they make in in the old country, and NOT crappy southern over-Americanized WASP pizza like they rampantly produce in the south. If you are uncultured and have bad taste in pizza, you're better off going to pizza hut. If not, then go to Alex's!

\r I am a professional food taster, and I know food! I have had the best of the best, and boy this place has great pizza! I have eaten here numerous times with family members, and the Pizza is phenomenal. Because of the use fresh ripe plum tomatoes, thehe sauce is sweet. They use fresh bufalo mozerella for all pizzas, and their toppings are great as well. The ambience is nice and overall this restaurant is great for the reasonable prices and has decent ambience. If your new to phillyy, this place is a must.

I just tried this pizza. It was evident from the business that there is a great product turnover. I have never had the cheese on the bottom before, but I liked it. My kids werent choking on the cheese like they do on other pizza. The sauce was great, not acidic. It was a little sweet. I would probably order it without the oregano next time. Vince told me to say ask for no greens next time. I liked the service. They were efficient for such a busy place.

My husband and I were visiting ol' Navy buddies over the weekend and asked our token Philly-Native what was the best pizza in town...he rightly steered us in this direction. Unfortunately for us, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs...we promptly ate up all the delicious hot-out-of-the-oven bread, dipping it in their infused olive oil...then we ordered mussells and the fried goat cheese, followed by a large pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza. There were 3 of us. I don't know what we were thinking. Everything was so good, we were stuffing ourselves as we were walking out the door! If there's any suggestion I can give, don't eat for a few days before you go! You'll want to consume everything on the menu! Terriffic!!

Lorenzo's Pizza at the Italian Market makes the best cheese steaks and pizza we have ever tasted! The crust on the pizza is thin and crisp and done just right. The cheese steaks are loaded with the most tender steak on a delicious roll, and if you top it off with cheese and fried onions you'll be in heaven. For all those Philadelphians trudging to Geno's and Pat's you are soooo mistaken. You can't compare the quality of their steaks to Lorenzo's and the price is so much cheaper too. There are signs all over the shop saying Lorenzo's won best cheese steak in Philadelphia Magazine beating out Pat's and Geno's and they also won best pizza from Philadelphia Magazine. They have awards hung up from City Guide also so don't just take my word for it. If you don't have time to stay and eat, order one of their stromboli's to go. Ham, cheese and pepperoni are to die for.

I am from NYC. Like any true New Yorker I love my pizza. Being new to this city, I was skeptical about trying anything but cheesesteaks. I'm left an advertisement on my door and I decided to give them a try. I must say I am happy with the food and I love the price. They have good family deals. I don't order anywhere else.

While walking up the street from our last stop on a trolley tour, we were looking for a good place to have a hot lunch on a very cold and windy day in Philly. Walking into the restaurant and out of the bitter cold we noticed the wood fire oven glowing and giving the nicely decorated restaurant warmth and a sense of comfort. We passed by a table of diners who ordered 6 of the wood fired pizzas that were spread out on their table looking beautifully delicious. The menu had some great offerings and if was difficult to choose just one thing for lunch. A loaf of warm bread and a small bowl of seasoned olive oil was brought to our table with our sodas. It was a delicious dipping appetizer. We ordered the brushetta which was good but the tomato mixture was very cold sitting on the warm toasted bagette slices. I wish it would have been room temperature.. My son had a wood fired pizza, I had the gnocchi and my husband had the homemade ravioli. All 3 lunches were terrific. The tomato sauce on both the ravioli and the gnocchi was flavorful and creamy. The portions were just right for us and we left feeling satisfied at this last meal we would be eating in Philly for this visit. Wait staff was attentive and ready to refill sodas when they were almost empty. I am looking forward to visiting Pizzicato again when I travel to Philly in April.
