“Where's Customer Service? Beware of Hotwire.com...”Yesterday, January 5th 2014, my girlfriend booked us a reservation through HOTWIRE.COM at the Extended Stay in Peoria, AZ, using my credit card. I had an afternoon meeting to go to, so I checked in so my girlfriend could get ready for a second meeting wit me early that evening. When she went to take a bath, there was no hot water at all. Apparently, if the water in the whole hotel was ice cold, then that property's maintenance department is not reliable. Not having any hot water in a brand hotel can cause unsuspecting guests some real problems. We missed the second meeting and I called the clerk Kim to complain. I told her that we were not staying the night and requested a refund. She said that she understood, but before giving me a refund, I would have to call Hotwire.com to notify them of the problem. I was on the phone for almost an hour and I was in disbelief when Hotwire.com would only authorize me a partial refund. Then I spoke to a supervisor named George. He said that he would issue a complete refund, upon confirmation of a rebooking. I've stayed at countless hotels over the years, but had never used HOTWIRE.COM and will NEVER use them again. I asked George, if I booked another hotel room, except through Priceline.com , would I still get me refund. As I expected, he said no, the refund would only be valid through HOTWIRE.COM. This is a big SCAM and would never happen using Priceline.com. When I pulled up to the hotel, my girlfriend had already checked out and was standing out front. Hotwire .com, is apparently keeping the money I paid for a room I didn't even stay in. We drove back home and stayed there

Hampton Inn Phoenix/Glendale/Peoria
I usually don't write reviews, but I feel I must in this case. When I pay over $100 for a room I expect it to be in good shape. I was visiting from out of town for a wedding. This hotel was close to where the reception was being held; staying at Hampton Inns before I believed it would be a good choice.The problems: The carpet leading into the bathroom was completely frayed and worn out for at least 18 inches, with torn threads and cement showing.; There was a black grease stain on the arm of the coach; One of the pillows smelled like smoke (not the pillow case, but the pillow); as I have COPD I removed it from the bed quickly; Last, when I went to put my socks on (I had been walking on the carpet barefooted after my shower) and my feet were all dirty (dirty carpet). At $100 a night for a room I expect it to be clean and not smell.On the plus side the bed was very comfortable. I did not try any of the other amenities --the pool or the breakfast. I just wanted to get out of there.
