Lanza Pediatrics Pl
I recently switched Pediatricians because of the nightmare clinic we previously went to. My son was due for emergency surgery and had to have a preop done immediately before the surgery. Of course Dr. Aflacks office(previous dr) couldnt get me an appt...which they NEVER could when any of my children were sick. I called everyone in the surrounding area and no one would help me. I finally called Dr. Lanzas office in Cantonment and they were happy to work us in the following day. The office staff seemed to be very helpful and courteous and I really like Dr. Lanza. She was very good with my young son and was very thorough with the exam. The only suggestion I have is that they create a separate waiting area for sick and well patients like most Pediatric offices.

Altenhofen Dean MD PA
I love Dr. Altenhofen! He has great bedside manner, is very professional, makes time for you, doesn't rush you through appointments and his staff has always been friendly and great. The one thing that impressed me most was the fact that he was there the entire 3 hours and 43 minutes that I pushed. I mean what OBGYN really does that? None from what I've heard! My entire pregnancy I stressed how important it was to me to not have a c-section unless my son or I were in serious danger. He could have easily said to do a c-section after an hour or so of pushing but didn't. I can't say enough great things about him. I will use him for any future pregnancies along with regular female check ups etc.

Dr Altenhofen is the best obgyn I have ever met. Unfortunately for me I didn't find him until my last pregnantcy because I would have used him for all 4 of my deliveries.he has the best bedside manor I have ever seen in a doctor. Being I was on my fourth pregnancy I was so scared he wouldn't make it to the hospital in time to deliver but luckily only being in labor and delivery for 8 minutes before I gave birth he was there. You can count on him. I can not say enough good things about this wonderful doctor. I gladly recommend him to anyone who needs an obgyn.

Andrews Robert MD
I saw Dr. Roberts for my entire pregnancy of my second child and couldn't ask for a better Doctor. He was kind and humorous. He always answered all my questions. I never felt rushed out of his office. I was always seen quickly and his staff made me feel at ease. He's very easy to talk to. He gave me straight forward answers and didn't try to sugarcoat sensitive conversation. His utmost concern is "Healthy Mommy, Healthy Baby". Yes, I highly recommend Dr. Robert Andrews!

EXTREMELY inconsiderate of my personal time, spent literally 4 hours in the waiting room without even seeing a nurse. Not only that one time, I arrive early atleast 15 min and I have do not get seen until atleast 45 min AFTER my scheduled appointment time. This is not acceptable at all. The first Year I seen her she was Amazing always considerate of my time and feelings.... since the new year she is NOT even doing the bare minimum. Will be Switching Doctors TODAY.

Hopefully when you go you don't have anything else to do afterwards. Your appointment means nothing. You'll wait for at least an hour, even if they're not too busy. The Dr always seems preoccupied. The nurse practitioner is great though. The front desk people ignore you when you go to the window. They act like they can't see you standing there. People are not seen in order of appointments or arrival. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Hoffman, Julia G, MD
Dr. Hoffman is a highly skilled surgeon. I have been amazed by my quick recovery time and by how gentle the actual surgery was on my body. While I was admitted in the hospital, even my nurses were impressed with Dr. Hoffman and commented on it. Her bedside manner was impeccable. She is always so caring and optimistic. I never once felt like just another patient. I am very thankful to have her as my doctor. I highly recommend her!

Cartee Wayne D Md
I found Dr. Cartee to be very friendly and courteous. He came in and introduced himself after his assistant took all my information. Said everything looked good and did I have any questions. He then said he would see me before my procedure and he did and saw me afterwards and gave me the results of my colonoscopy. I was very happy with him.

Donna Corder Medical
My husband had eyelid surgery with great results with Dr. Corder. His vision has improved and he looks 10 years younger. His sagging eyelids was impeding his vision and he needed to get it done. She was great and the results could not be better. Only complaint is he should have done it years ago.
Tips & Advices
A child should see his or her pediatrician frequently during the first few years. Once the child reaches age 3, parents should schedule a doctor's visit at least once per year. Before that, however, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests parents arrange visits according to the following schedule:
  • 2 to 5 days old
  • 1 month old
  • 4 months old
  • 6 months old
  • 9 months old
  • 12 months old
  • 15 months old
  • 24 months old (2 years)
  • 30 months old (2.5 years)
No, parents should call 911, an emergency physician, or a pediatric emergency physician if a child suffers an acute illness or injuries. Doctors in these fields are more qualified than pediatricians to handle emergency situations.
A well-visit is a routine visit with a pediatrician to track a child's development, discuss medical or emotional concerns, and receive immunizations and medical advice.
Yes, pediatricians provide immunizations for infants and children up through 21 years.
No, pediatricians do not have to be board certified. They're only required to have a state license. However, certification indicates a dedication to studying pediatrics beyond the requirements.
