My House Restaurant
I do recommend My House, as it has a warm friendly staff and unusual menu items. We started with the fried veggies appetizer, which is like tempura. You can ask for a teriyaki sauce, which I did. $4 and you get a lot of them! Then we had the soup, which was either fish chowder (cod), unrolled stuffed cabbage soup (which I had) and a veggie soup which was a little bland. My friend added salt and pepper, and I added some of my tomato and cabbage, and it came out better. My soup was cabbage, meat balls and tomato sauce on the sweet side, like in stuffed cabbages. One person in our group ordered the sweet potato wedges appetizer, and they passed it around. It had smokey maple syrup and marshmallow sauce on it, and dusted with brown sugar and spice with a side of smokey bbq sauce. Very tasty! Some had the fried chicken, which they said was like most fried chicken, but the waffles it came with had some rosemary in them, which made them great. The smoked pork belly was good but a little salty. They give you a large portion. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were excellent, as were there little corn breads which came with the soup. They brought extra for everybody. The filet mignon was excellent. Their special was mahi mahi, and they had an ahi steak that I will try next time.
