Starr's Mill Academy Inc
Dear Parents If I could put zero in rating I would do it If you are planning to enroll your kid in this place, Please be aware that based my experience with Starr’s Mill Academy that it may seem very nice place and very nice management, but it is not. It appears to be very well kept, but quick I found out that they have zero interest in the well-being and safety of your child. They only care about money and how much they will make with getting more kids trapped in there. They have a HIGH turnover of teachers and this is definitely not healthy for the kids. When you pick up your kid they are full of mucus all over the face and haven't been cleaned. They brag that kids have so many activities and we sadly found out that most of the time they are watching TV. They abuse the use of the TV and cartoons very rarely take the kids to play outside. My child was hurt so many times by being bitten or hit because teachers don't properly pay attention at all. Many of the teachers don't have the passion and patience in order to be caregivers and should not be taking care of our kids if they don't have these qualities. Per my experience my kid was not treated equally and so many times he was discriminated against. Please, take the time and the decision to skip this facility and place your baby/ kid in a place where area capable so as a parent you will have peace of mind. Att. A hurt kid and parents.

Stopped me from spending good money on overly damaged hard drive, instead we upgraded my new computer with parts from my old failing PC. Never happier! Thanks to Nick and Brandon for the quick support.

I shopped around a lot of pre schools beofre deciding on this one. It was worth the drive. The owners are fantastic and truly care about the children. For the most part the staff is excellent as well. All the children seem happy and my child is doing very well. I love the security, the clean environment and the large classrooms

I'm new to the area and checked out many other preschools before settling on Starr's Mill Academy. I liked their academic curriculum starting at a young age, great security (cameras and unique access code just to enter building, then a staffed front desk before you get to classrooms), and that the husband and wife that own it are present and involved in daily operation. My 3 year old has thrived there over the past 4 months and we've also been pleased with the Winter vacation camp for our elementary-age son.Only con is that it is located slightly outside of town, but the facility offers more outdoor amenities like multiple playgrounds and swimming pools than in-town options so I think the drive is well worth it.

This school and the owners have security and integrity issues! Last week I found out that my 2 children can get picked up by anyone who has a code. This is NOT a unique code it is the same for the kids. Anyone can use this code, if they know it! The school and the owners refuse to give me (the parent) information about my kids. And they have been lying to me about me kids and questions I asked on the phone and in emails. Once I started looking into the school and the owners more, I found they are in a nasty lawsuit that they refuse to do as ordered and they were involved inlawsuits in florida. I also found pictures of the school's buses interrupting DOT road crews intentionally. PLEASE beware!!!i would not trust my dog in their care!
Tips & Advices
  • Talk about specific consequences of their drinking.
  • Choose a time soon after the person experiences a drinking-related problem (missing a shift at work, for example).
  • Do not threaten, guilt, lecture, preach, or use negative labels.
  • Do not try to discuss alcoholism when the person is intoxicated.
Therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists who specialize in the condition can all diagnose and treat alcoholism. People with alcohol-related concerns can also consult their general practitioner, who will refer them to a specialist.
Detoxification is a medically supervised period of alcohol withdrawal to allow the body to purge itself. A doctor or treatment specialist closely monitors a patient to ensure the symptoms of withdrawal do not cause harm. Side effects of alcohol detoxification include:
  • Sweating
  • Vomiting
  • Elevated heart rate
  • High blood pressure
  • Tremors
  • Nausea
  • Sleep issues
  • Paranoia or anxiety
  • Hallucinations
  • Seizures
The cost of addiction treatment varies depending on the type of facility, amenities offered, treatment provided, and size and length of the program. Detoxification ranges from $1,000 to $15,000. Inpatient facilities cost anywhere from $6,000 to $30,000 for a 30-day program and include detoxing. Outpatient programs can cost $500 per session.
Outpatient alcoholism treatment is a part-time form of rehabilitation. Patients continue their normal lives during the day and return to the treatment facility several times per week. Outpatient treatment is generally cheaper than inpatient and can be helpful for people with less severe addictions. Inpatient treatment programs require patients to stay at the facility 24/7 until the completion of the program. They provide a highly controlled environment for patients to overcome their addictions without the distractions or temptations of everyday life. These clinics provide round-the-clock medical care and often include hours of group and personal therapy. Inpatient programs are beneficial for people with severe addictions or those who have overdosed.
