Billy Lowery Automotive
We recently took both of our cars in for some repairs, and I'm definitely a Billy Lowery Automotive fan now. They do excellent, honest work at a reasonable price, with no unpleasant surprises. Unlike some other auto repair shops, he doesn't try to nickel-and-dime you, and he doesn't try to find (or make up?) even more things wrong with your car in order to generate more income for the repair shop. Billy and his mechanics simply do the work that needs to be done, and they do outstanding work at the lowest-priced option possible. He does check everything on the car out, though (as good mechanics do), and in my case, he did notice something else wrong with one of our cars besides what I brought it in for. Billy seemed almost apologetic for pointing out that he had noticed this extra thing wrong (I had known about this extra problem with the car also, but had considered it a relatively minor problem), and Billy didn't pressure me into having this additional repair done, but told me that, if I didn't fix it now, I would probably want to have it fixed in the near future, before it got worse. However, I decided to have that additional repair done also (to get my car back into perfect condition), and Billy did this additional repair at a very reasonable price. I am VERY happy with my new garage!

Advance Auto Repair
They are very nice, especially the owner, Danny. I've been with them for years. One time I came in to get a check on my brakes and they gave me a discount, because Danny knew I was having money probelms. They are different than any other repair shop because they care about me and my family. The owner is a really nice guy, i just want people to appreciate him more for what he does. Going there isn't a waste of time, you get to make new friends and experience a new point of view, bevause when i walk in there i see men, men who are trying there best to work for their family, men who work for Danny because they are loyal to him. Dont get me wring but, there is no doubt those employees could find a different place to work at, but they don't go to a different place because they ae loyal and its very inspiring to me. I recommend going here.

Leos Auto Clinic
It is hard to find honest, good mechanics and Leo's Auto Clinic is very fair and very good. I was not expecting this good of service after always getting up-sold on unnecessary and expensive work like all the cookie cutter auto shops out there. It might be further than the auto repair shops where I live and work, but it is definitely worth the drive to receive honest and good work.

Eagle Automotive
Eagle Automotive is an honest and reliable shop. I have several family vehicles that I take to them for routine maintenance and repairs. I always leave there knowing repairs were done right and that they will stand behind their work. I can also trust that they will not suggest bogus repairs. What else could you ask for?

Road Wrench
The guy gave me a price over the phone and when I asked him to come out he was there in less than an hour. He did just what I asked him to do and for the price he quoted me. He was very professional and courteous. I'm going to recomend him to all of my friends and family. If you need your car fixed he's the guy to call.

NTB National Tire & Battery
I just wanted to start off by saying thank you Ceasar Cordon, the Manager, for taking time after business hours and helping us by changing the flat tire on my Tahoe. We were stranded and Mr. Cordon drove by and offered to help us. He is a blessing in disguise. I definitely recommend this NTB to everyone.

Pas Auto Repair
This place went down hill too and they overlook and leave detail stuff like screws or parts out. Don't take your car if you love your car like me. I known these people all my life. Very sad. And this has happened many times not just one time. Frequently

Spirit Auto Care
Always honest work. Fair prices. Replaced transmission on 2003 Ford Taurus in 2011- still running. I do not trust mechanics! But my family has trusted these guys with several of our vehicles. They always get us back on the road.

Sears Auto Center
Very helpful, friendly and what more impressed me was how fast the service is and if it is taking longer than expected the workers will tell you why is the reason for their delay.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
