Avanti Italian Bistro and Bar
First off, the ambiance was amazingly beautiful. It felt like walking into a super expensive restaurant (but prices were very affordable!). Loved the decor, the chandeliers, and there was even a fireplace in the back. Went on a Friday night with a big party and we had no problem with our reservation. We we seated and the waiter were very attentive and always checked on us and asked if we needed anything. They were all very friendly!OMG then the most delicious garlic bread rolls came. We could not stop eating them. And I quote my friend, "these are dangerous!" The rolls came with a soft flat bread which was good too. Drinks were amazing- they had a nice variety of wine and cocktails. I got the Nutella Martini and it tasted exactly like drinking hazelnut chocolate!y The table everything from pasta to calzones, to pizza, to salad and everyone said they enjoyed their food. One person commented, that although the sauce looks heavy, it's actually very light and the dish is flavorful. I ordered the Chicken Tequila Fettuccine and it was very flavorful with peppers and chicken, with the pasta cooked al dente.It was my birthday so they brought me Tiramisu with a huge firecracker candle just like in the Yelp pictures! The Tiramisu was one of the best I have ever had, best I ever had (in the words of Drake). There's a parking lot in the back, and lots of street parking if the lot is full by the way. Overall, great feel, great food, great drinks, great dessert, great service. Will be back!

Avanti serves delicious American Italian food: Pizza, pasta, salads, and Italian desserts. The complimentary bread is delicious. The wine list is well ranged. The parking lot is small, but there is plenty of street parking because it's not crammed among other businesses and restaurants. The sound level inside is moderate. The decor is a mix of modern and traditional, making it very pleasing to all. The staff are always super welcoming. The owner himself is often there. We usually have lunch there on Sundays, and occasionally dinner during the week after a hectic work day. My husband and I love their risottos and pizzas. The steamed clams are a favorite appetizer, when available. We enjoy their beet salad, their kale and quinoa salad, and their caesar salad. The spumoni is a perfect dessert for summer. I have taken co-workers there and they have also loved it. I have been there at least 50 times and never had one bad experience.

What an absolutely pleasant surprise! The food was delicious and very authentic, the dessert fantastic, the service was just wonderful, and they have a full bar! My husband and I both had the chicken piccatta which was divine; the chicken cooked to perfection and tender and juicy. Better than I make! The salad was super fresh and their house dressing which is a lime base is just the perfect amount of flavor. The bread before the meal were garlic knots and a very crispy flat bread for dipping in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The tiramisu was just incredible with just the right amount of sweetness, chocolate, and rum. Everything was flavored and spiced to perfection. Our waiter was super attentive without being pushy or in the way. The busboy was just as nice. I was so impressed I am planning on having my husbands 65th birthday dinner here. This is definitely going to become a regular stop on our restaurant repertoire!

My husband and I discovered Avanti's months ago and have been regular customers ever since. The ambience is wonderful, the service is impeccable (Enrique is the best!), and drinks are fantastic (Bob is the greatest bartender and makes the best Vespers!). We were there last night and had the best dinner ever. Marco, the chef, frequently prepares specials for the evening. I ordered the special for the night - freshly made Pappardelle pasta with a fabulous Bolognese sauce. It was absolutely delicious! The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was amazingly delicious. Marco is truly a fabulous chef. We frequently dine at Italian restaurants - Avanti's has quickly become one of our favorites. By the way, my husband ordered his favorite Avanti dish - Fettuccine Alfredo. He loves it and orders it every time we dine there. Kudos to Marco!

I'm not too familiar with restaurants in Pasadena so we were looking on Yelp to find a good mid-range place for a last minute birthday dinner for my mom and we came across Avanti. I must say, it was a delicious dinner for a spontaneous choice. Their corkage fee is $12, which is a good option if you want to bring your own wine. The server was nice and the atmosphere was lively but not too loud to where you can't hear the person next to you.I got the wild mushroom rigatoni and it was surprisingly light with a decadent truffle oil flavor. My sister got the fettuccini and when I tried it, I thought it was pretty darn good. So simple yet so wonderfully executed. Overall it was a great dinner, will definitely return again!

We came here for late night happy hour (8:30-close) on a friday night. We luckily didn't have to wait at all for a table and picked a table in the bar area. calamari: very fresh, crispy, no fishy taste, not rubbery at all...I think there was some baby octopus in there too, which was equally as good cheese pizza with tomato and basil: fresh, crispy thin crust, addicting, big enough to share garlic knots: covered in olive oil/butter, garlic and salt They also have $5 well drinks and beers, and some wines on the happy hr menu.FYI, this is a semi-fancy place (folded napkins, table clothes, candles, dim lights). We will definitely be coming back if we get a craving for some good thin crust pizza. ;)

The food quality is as good as it gets in LA ,Chicago, NY or wherever I have been.The owners are as gracious, and generous as there are in the restaurant business or in life for that matter...They do not have one cheap or argumentative bone in their bodies. They do not spare one expense to be sure that that customers get what they pay for or if there is some mistake that the customer is made to understand that their business is appreciated. I have been a customer at Avanti Cafe and now Avanti Bistro for many years and I am not all that gracious or generous. I have been all over the world and the US. If they did not meet my expectations I would have not come back a long time ago.

We were very excited to see a new, non fast food restaurant open close to our house. We have been here 5 or 6 times since the opened and have always had a good experience. The food has been consistently good. We've had everything from fish (the Branzino is amazing!) to steak to pasta (try the lasagna) to pizza. We have always been happy with our meals. We have had one experience with slow service but the other times the service was perfectly fine. They did a beautiful job with the decor. It can feel upscale yet family friendly at the same time. We have 2 young kids whom we have brought with is several times. I highly recommend Avanti Bistro for a great meal and experience!

Amara Chocolate & Coffee
My husband and I had our first chocolate con churros in Spain a couple years ago at the famous Chocolateria San Jines. I thought I'd have to fly back to Spain to experience that scrumptious dessert. And now we find it in Pasadena?! We are so happy to discover Amara, its delicious desserts at a reasonable price (6 churros and hot chocolate for $7.05), and the amazing and comfortable ambience. Tonight they had a live guitarist/vocalist and sitting here on the couch in front of candlelit tables was the perfect way to end the night out. I'll come back again and again!

We come here a lot because they have the best plain cheese super thin crust pizza we have found outside Pisa! If you want it, specify it exactly as stated above. The Eggplant Parmigiana with the Italian sausage is our favorite if we are going to splurge. Start with incredible Minestrone soup or the house salad made with all romaine lettuce and end it with spumoni ice cream. Wines include Kendell Jackson Chardonnay and Justin Cabernet, two classic California wines, by the glass, or bring your own and they will even decant it if asked.
