This place has a nice ambience; the treatment was good; food was tasty. Definitely try the world famous chicken dish - it was great. The Bollywood Dreams cocktail was good too.

I used to work in Palo Alto and go to this restaurant all the time! It was one of my favorites. I absolutely love their tortillas con pescado (fish tacos) and their grilled chicken breast sandwich. The cumin aioli on the sandwich just made it that much more delicious!

I went to lunch at the new St. Michael's Alley on Thursday. It was amazing. The new space has a bar, and casual tables, the colors are warm and inviting. The owners are were there to answered many questions my husband had about the 300 yr. old walnut tree made into the bar and the beautiful farmhouse windows. We started with the Wild Mushroom Cake with creamy garlic herb sauce. Fantastic, I had the Tossed Baby Green Salad with warm walnuts, and warm herb encrusted goat cheese, dried cranberries. The salad was delicious and filling. The cold crisp greens with the warm goat cheese was perfect. My hubby had a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. A bit different than usual with a bacon taste, big clams and potato, very good but different. He followed with a grilled chicken sandwich with prosciutto and fontina cheese on sour dough. Again, a mixture of texture and taste that works. We look forward to dinner next and having drinks on the new patio. Well worth the wait St. Michael's Alley. Good job we will be back with friends.

My boyfriend and I read a few reviews about Thai restaurants in the Palo Alto area before deciding on this one, and we're glad we did! We started with the shrimp spring rolls and they were fresh and delicious and came with 3 great sauces. For dinner we had the red curry and green curry, both flavorful and the perfect balance of vegetables and chicken. A word of caution, we both enjoy spicy food and ordered our entrees ""5 star."" Even for heat-lovers, this was a bit too spicy for us. We were sweating bullets. If you enjoy spicy, I would recommend ordering 3 star. It is still spicy without overpowering the food. The service was also friendly and prompt.

We've been there for dinner and breakfast and were very impressed with both the quality and selection of the food as well as the service. On a busy Sunday morning, the restaurant was packed with people waiting yet the service was prompt and very attentive. Dinner is a nice mix of classical bistro dishes as well as dishes with a middle eastern flair. The house smoked salmon and smoked trout are wonderful! Prices are more than reasonable. This is a regular for us now.

Four of us had an early dinner on New Year's Eve and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent, the service attentive, and the atmosphere festive. We appreciated the fact that we could order from the regular menu, even on New Year's Eve. They also had a special 7-course meal and we could order any of those selections a la carte. Our only minor complaint was that the wines by the glass are pricey.

Il Fornaio is very popular and often very busy. It can be quite noisy and service may be slow. We go for the food. Try the veal scallopini and a Ceaser salad.

Truly a landmark spot in Palo Alto. In the middle of Unviersity Avenue, both the exterior and interior represent the Stanford University avenue scene. Great food, service and crowds of students and professionals working, meeting, and chatting. This hotspot uses the AeONsafe secured WiFi, which is faster than AnchorFree and fully encrypted wireless. Since it is secured, I work there more frequently.

I recommend going during lunch, they have seriously awesome sandwiches. I was pretty sad when I went for dinner once and they didn't have all of the sandwiches on the dinner menu. I also really love how there are mirrors lining the walls, even when you are sitting facing the wall you still can see everything that is going on around you (and you can make sure you don't have anything on your face!;)

This location is the worst Neiman Marcus I've ever been to. I've been ignored on numerous occasions whether I'm waiting for a dressing room, a shoe sales person, etc. The last insult was when the sales clerk asked me whether I would accept a used bag to carry home my goods. She was too lazy to walk over to another register to get more bags! I will never shop there again. You get much better service at the S.F. location, or Saks.

Food was good but servers were rude. We will never be back to the place!\r \r We ordered an appetizer and two crapes. First server messed up our order. He let me repeat every single word I said. I already felt uncomfortable being there. He brought the appetizer and one crape only. We told him ""This is an appetizer."" He said ""When do you need your crape?"" with attitude. No apologize, no re-make the first crape. We had to start with the appetizer and waited for another crape. \r \r It took too long to bring the other crape. While we waited, other customers on the other table ordered, received and gone. Another table got their appetizer (Yes! They could do it for them but not for us!), then got their crape plates. It took that too long! We knew we were not welcomed customers any more. He almost hit me with the hot plate when he brought the second crape. The first crape already got too cold, appetizer was still not finished, the small table got full. We had to eat 2 crapes and the appetizer at the same time. We didn't want that way.\r \r We tried to order something more. He saw us but ignored. OK! They lost our additional orders and big tip! When I took a paper napkin from the next table (Only 1 paper napkin per customer is their default. Cheap people!), he immediately replaced it with loud noise. It was obvious he saw and did it. Is this the ""French"" way? \r \r The other server came to our table and asked how was the food. We tried to answer but our mouths were full, he walked away before we made a comment. Another thing I had to mention was, he talked to my friend only. Not to me at all! He didn't look at me, the question was asked to my friend only. He did exactly the same when he brought us the bill. So arrogant French attitude!

I had been searching for a great Indian restaurant. I usually presume that the 'hole in the wall' places have the best food, yet when it came to Indian places, they were OK - average. When someone told me about Amber on Santana Row I thought I would give it a try. I expected it to be pricey and ok, yet I was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent - next best thing to home cooking. The dinner prices were reasonable and definitely worth it. The service was impeccable. Lunch time buffet is the steal however. I highly recommend it.

Exceptional service. We recently had our anniversary dinner there. The duck was juicy, tender. We were seated promptly and great house wine. Our friends came later to join us and a table was set up right away. The food came promptly. The atmosphere was a real French Bistro without flying to France. Tasty wine. Tasty food. More than satisfying portions.
