Antelope Valley Animal Hospital
While the vets are very nice, there's just something not right when they SPAY/NEUTER animals. I have rescued cats. Two of my female cats were spayed there, and it looked horrendous. Never have I seen someone do such a butcher job. One was so bad that we took photos in case it got worse and something happened to the cat. Recently I had a male cat neutered. His whole genitalia was caked in blood when I got him back! After wearing the safety cone for 10 days, he cleaned himself, but now he has a scab back there that bleeds sometimes. I've called to inquire but the doctor isn't in yet, so this cat is definitely on his way to a new animal hospital. I recommend this hospital for minor things (vaccinations, and such), but I DO NOT RECOMMEND them for surgeries like spaying/neutering~ they do a butcher job.

Palmdale Veterinary Hospital
Dr. McEwan is awsome!!! He is, by far, the best veterinarian I have ever been to. He knew just what to do for my older cat. And it was a simple adjustment to her thyroid meds. The veterinarian I was using in Lancaster really blew it and I came close to putting this cat to sleep. She is doing wonderfully now...happy, playing, eating. I thank my lucky stars that I found Dr. McEwan and the Palmdale Hospital. He took the time to explain everything to us and there was never a rush. We felt so at ease with this doctor and his staff. From now on, they will see all my pets. The neighborhood is not the best, but we were so impressed with the well equipped hospital, that it didn't matter. They even have the lazer for my cat's arthritis...she is holding her tail high now.

I am so thankful for mission Animal Hospital, my dog Patches and I have been going to them for a year now and we are very happy. The staff is friendly and attentive to my dog's care. Every time we go in I feel completely comfortable with understanding the medical reasoning and treatment plan. I trust the staff 100% with caring for my sweet Patches. I have seen about 3 different doctors, all being so nice and always going the extra mile to make sure Patches is doing great! I recommend any pet owner to this wonderful veterinary Hospital. I feel lucky to have found them!

Mission Animal Hospital
I took my puppy Dots here a few months ago because of a lump on her ear. I was scared and so was she.. but they took really good care of her and I would recommend them to my friends and family. What I really loved, is that Doctor Jkim and nurse gave me options. Amazing service. The doctor was wonderful and so caring. He even called me personally in the morning to check on my puppy. Love this place and I would recommend this place especially for new puppy owners because the doctor explains everything and actually spends some time with you and answers all your concerns

Mission Animal Hospital
Mission Animal Hospital provides quality care at very reasonable prices. The staff is caring and they all work hard to help improve animals health. They offer as many options to people in need to help animals brought in. I think this hospital makes the most available options and really strive to help owners help their animals.

Mission Animal Hospital
I found this place to be full of compassionate and caring people. My dog had a pretty bad rash and the Dr. was able to tell me exactly what he needed. The Dr. did not add any extras to over charge and they gave me free recheck concerning his condition. I was happy with my service and would bring my pet back.

Antelope Valley Animal Hospital
As always, Dr. Nyholt and his great staff took wonderful care of my little dachshunds today. He called once he was finished working on them to update me on their progress. My own "human" doctor doesn't always do that! I wouldn't trust "my little ladies" to anyone else. Thank you, Dr. Nyholt and staff

Mission Animal Hospital
Mission Animal hospital has been very helpful in taking care of my 10 year old dog. They were careful with her and the prices were reasonable. Dr Park is provides great info and knows what my pet needs. Just straight to the point and services done on the day of walk in.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
