The owner was on time and very professional. He showed me his license and insurance. The price was very reasonable. I was very impressed with the clean up after the debris was removed. I will use them again.

This company did an outstanding job. Cleaned up all the trimmings and carried them away. They had to postpone the appointment due to the heavy rains, but called me several times updating me with their status. I recommend them very highly! I would give them a 10 if there was an opportunity to do so.

Horrible company and owner! Palm bay tree provided tree removal to our neighbors. My husband and I returned home to see that they had set up their equipment in out yard which had dug up rather large portions of our sod. They had also left softball sized chunks of wood in our yard which broke our brand new lawn mower when my husband went to mow (he did not see them as our grass was overgrown.) I called Palm Bay Tree and spoke to the owner, Mike. He said that I needed to take my issues up with my neighbor. He would not come lay new sod in the area he ripped up or replace our lawn mower. It is not my neighbors responsibility to fix these issues so my husband and I had to pay to have new sod laid in the area and luckily our lawn mover was still under warranty so Lowes replaced it for free. Mike is a horrible business man and should not be parking his tree removal equipment on others lawns, if he does he should leave the lawn as he found it and if there is damage he needs to fix it.

I cannot recommend this tree service. Mike, the owner, came out to give us a quote on trimming our trees. He explained everything that would be done. However, when the crew came out, Mike was not there and the job was not done the way Mike had explained. Also, the crew left a large pile of branches at the side of the road for the city yard collection to pick up, which is a violation of city code regarding tree services. I will not use this company again.
Tips & Advices
Do your due diligence and always ask for proof of insurance and certification before agreeing to any work. You will also want to be on the lookout for telltale signs of scams and be cautious of any company that:
  • Will not provide you with a certificate of their insurance policy or only has general liability coverage
  • Declines to give you a written estimate for the job
  • Gives you bids that either seem very low or very high
  • Contacted you out of the blue to see if you needed their services
  • Has complaints against it from business bureaus in your area
  • Asks for payment before starting work
  • Doesn't have a fixed physical address
Tree service companies are also great places to get your wood if you happen to have a fireplace. Many tree businesses offer free delivery and stacking of hardwoods, such as maple or birch. These can make for the best firewood because they burn slowly and don't produce as much smoke as other types.
If you want to add to the greenery in your yard but you're concerned about the right species to plant or where to put it on your property, seek the advice of an arborist.
If a storm hits and damages your residence, a tree service professional is usually on your list of people to call for help after first responders and your insurer. A professional service can completely remove a tree or just prune and saw off its branches if a storm damages a tree. After sawing or destroying the tree, professionals can then remove any of the dangerous debris from your yard by hauling it off.
Some bugs burrow through the bark and damage hardwood and softwood trees. Depending on the species of trees in your yard and the region of the country you live in, aphids, the infamous emerald ash borer or other pests could destroy your healthy trees.
