YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

For the person that lost her dog and had a bad experience with Halo, I can only tell you that is is up to all of us to correct problems instead of elevate them. Halo is the only no-kill shelter in this county and instead of you asking what you can do to help, your question was what can I do to "hurt"! Let me give you some good advice, every organization that starts and is able to survive eventually repairs all of the weak links in their chains. It is up to us, the public to support and make sure that they are able to survive, as do their animals. Halo was founded on a vision of love and caring, please understand that and give it some help!

I have never in my life experienced such a heartless, unprofessional organization. Please don't let them fool you, just because they are a "rescue" organization. There are actually a lot of rescue organizations out there who are known for being corrupt. Up until my most recent experience with them, I thought that they were actually an ethical, non-corrupt organization. Boy was I wrong... I guess the customers at HALO clearly get treated A LOT better than the people who have to unfortunately surrender their animals there. The owner and other workers at HALO were very nice to me, up until after I had already surrendered my dog to them. After surrendering my dog to HALO and after not hearing from anyone for over two months, I had called and asked the owner (Jacky) why they never called me to tell me that my dog was adopted out (like I had requested them to do on my surrender application.) I found out from her that my dog got adopted after just two days of being there, but no one bothered to call me. When I asked Jacky to tell me about the family who adopted him, she refused to tell me ANYTHING. I was not asking for an address and phone # for them, but just general information, such as, does the family have kids? Do they live in a house with a fenced in back yard? Are there other pets in the household? Etc. (Just so I would know what type of home he went to.) The owner was abusive and unprofessional towards me. She even had the nerve to yell at me and tell me that she didn't care about me or my situation, etc. In light of all of this, I obviously COMPLETELY REGRET surrendering my beautiful, wonderful dog to HALO. It was an extremely difficult thing for me to do anyway, and then to have to deal with the stress and abuse that I have now had to deal with makes it all the more devastating. Please DO NOT ever surrender an animal to this organization. They are only interested in your MONEY, and they will just judge you and treat you horribly if you EVER try to follow up on what happened with the animal you surrendered. Due to the apparent serious ethics issues involved with this organization, not only do I not recommend surrendering an animal to this organization, but I also would not recommend boarding your animal here or adopting an animal from here.

We got our cat here. She was so depressed she wouldn't move. She does still have anxiety but she is the love of our lives. Be forewarned it is very depressing here. Heartbreaking. But understand when the staff r grumpy. They see some awful things. But know that any animal u choose to adopt has a fee so they con continue to operate. Don't complain about the selection. It's a last resort. It's not a breeder it's not a pet store. It's a last stop end of the road for these poor guys. Give then a break. They only want to save animals.

They have a very friendly, helpful, and caring staff. We forgot to bring our cat's papers, so the staff kindly called the adoption center to retrieve her rabies certificate. Dr. Edwards showed us how to care for our kitten who has an upper respiratory infection. He gave us medicines to kill the infection, stimulate her appetite, and soothe her sore eyes. The clinic honored our coupon for a free initial visit. An excellent experience.

I disagree, totally with the previous review from Alexa H!! The owner and operator of this facility is wonderful! In fact, I just donated a considerable amount of money I received as a beneficiary to this great Rescue and Adoption business!! See for yourself! Don't judge this business on 1 bad review!! I know and I have seen with my own eyes when I first moved to Vero Beach, back in August of 2016. If you truly care about rescued kittens and cats, visit the Cats Meow Rescue and Adoption center.. you won't be disappointed!! Debra L Connor, USA Retired

Bark Avenue has a healthy selection of food and treats for your pet, as well as accessories and toys. The employees at Bark Avenue are great people with plenty of knowledge about food choices. If they don't have what you are asking for they will order it special for you. I shop at Bark Avenue sometimes twice a week (now that I have a new puppy), and it's always a pleasure. Bark Avenue has a sister store in Vero Beach on The Miracle Mile next to Deep Six Dive Shop and plans for future locations coming in Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie.
