While visiting the Monterey Bay area and looking for a good seafood restaurant, we looked on Citysearch and found Fishwife. The reviews looked good so we headed there. We were not disappointed in the least. Each of the five of us declared this the Best meal of our trip. I personally had the crab ravioli and swordfish. Just excellent! The service was superb. As stated in prior reviews, the owner also visited our table to be sure all was to our satisfaction. It most certainly was. Would not hesitate to reccomend to all.

when we were first seated, we were in a small room with four other tables. i thought this was going to be a long night, but when the food came, i totally forgot about the claustrophobic room. sanddabs and calamari steak were fantastic. althought not recommended by the waiter, the pasta with beef and sausage was fantastic. scampi servced on pasta was good but the wild abalone was heaven.

This was a great place to go with our tween daughters. The atmosphere was kind of classy, but not so much that we felt uncomfortable (we are not classy folks!). Great food and great service. Will definitely return on our next visit to PG.
7.Victorian Corner Restaurant

Charming little place in a charming town. The food is close to what I'd rate as four stars; the service a strong four stars. I highly recommend going there.

Their burgers are delicious. Kids enjoyed drawing on table cloths. Nice restaurant.
14.Vito's Italian Restaurant
1180 Forest Ave Ste A
My partner and I wanted a nice Italian restaurant, so we found this place on line. The place was virtually empty when we arrive about 7:30 on Saturday. We were greeted by a guy with blue jeans and a white T, he told us to sit at a table in the corner farthest away from the windows up against a service cabinet. The waiter was friendly, took our order for two Lasagna, no problem with adding sausage to one of the order. The waiter was the only reason I give it 3 stars. The lasagna was mushy; not much difference between the texture of the pasta and the cheese. The sausage made it just barrable and I could only eat about half before it became unbearable.
15.Vivolo's Chowder House

Delicious breakfast and lunch entrees in a cute and quaint cafe. My favorite is the grilled cheese! Located near the beach and shops in Pacific Grove.
19.Fifi's Bistro Cafe
1188 Forest Ave
This is my favorite French restaurant ever. For the food, price and the portion, it's the best yet. I've been here quite a few times already and tried many dishes: duck, coq au vin, beef bourguigon, filet mignon, lamb chops - they are all superb, never disappointing. Not to mention their French onion soup - the best I've ever tried, lots of cheese. The place is a ""mere-et-pere"" restaurant who also bake their pastries fresh daily. Make sure to try their dessert, esp. the Napoleon - always fresh as the flakes are nice and crisp. And if you get there before 6:30, you can catch the early-bird dinner special which is a real bargain. As I mentioned earlier, they serve up good portions as well, can't believe tonight was the first time I have packed leftovers from a French restaurant and I am a big eater too. :) Had the coq-au-vin tonight and they gave me half a chicken that was just too much for me. This place is comparable to other fine French restaurants in SF.
20.Pizza My Way
1157 Forest Ave Ste D
Best pizza ever ...the salad and the chicken wings are sooo delicious plus the garlic bread and the sauce are sooo good definitely my no 1 pizza store in town

22.Taste Cafe & Bistro
1199 Forest Ave Ste 5
This is a true town mechanic. I took my 1991 jeep wrangler there due to it running poorly, and I myself had no idea why. He made an appt. for me the day I called and sounded eager to help me get it fixed. When we got to his shop there was alot of vehicles getting fixed but he still tended to mine right on time and he was very prompt. I left and got a call 1 hour later to let me know that he looked over my jeep and couldnt find anything wrong with it except one small exhaust leak and the fact that my heater and temp gauge werent working properly. Very honest, hard working mechanic with reasonable prices. Definately not like larger chain mechanics that like to charge you $300 for zero work. If you are looking for good service in your mechanic this is the place.
Ocean Monte Verde
I have been to Italy and I can safely say that there is no difference in the food you will find at Il Fornaio and the cuisine of Italy. PLUS as a bonus the service is better. The staff is warm and friendly. A must. We had the Capellacci di Zucca. A butternut squash ravioli with a sage-brown butter sauce. You also have to try the Zuppe di Pesce. A fish & shellfish stew (in the same vein as Cioppino) in a savory broth with tomatoes.
543 Lighthouse Ave
Great place for a snack or light fare with kids. Very friendly staff. Kids love to get a drink in a glass bottle.
518 Lighthouse Ave
The freshness of the roast beef sandwich put me right to bed, far flung from the sandwich that melted away as I dozed off. The other sandwich was years back when I had time to walk around the block, makai to the marketplace. The exhaustion of an entire afternoon and evening to and from a ball game struck me out. In the morning I felt like a winner! Mahalo to the simplicity.

1184 Forest Ave Ste G
This was my first experience. on pupu platter ribs over cooked, chicken on stick like cihicken jerky, maybe that's how it's done but i don't see the attraction. shrimp fair. i think the noodles are suppose to have chicken since it's called chicken chow mein. orange crispy chicken good flavor but a little dry. mixed vegetable delight was perfect. if i try again it will be in house. not worth $37.00 plus tip.
