YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

9.Humane Society Of Ventura County
402 Bryant St
While the primary mission of the Humane Society of Ventura County is to provide a safe, temporary home for unwanted animals while they await adoption, it also provides many other services to help ensure that animals throughout the county are treated with the love and respect they deserve. Among the Humane Society's most important work is promoting low-cost spay and neutering at its Spay and Neuter Clinic in Ojai. It is estimated that for every human birth there are 15 dogs and 45 cats born. These numbers show that there is no way to provide homes for the country's pet population without an aggressive effort to cut down on the animal birth rate. Spaying and neutering as many animals as possible is the answer. While the Society's low-cost Spay and Neuter Clinic is making a difference, it is too small to handle the number of animals that need to be altered. The Society is currently accepting donations that will allow for an expansion of the facility to serve even more pets. In addition, Shelter employees are prepared, 24 hours a day, to help with the rescue and transportation of animals during emergencies and natural disasters. Because pets are not allowed in Red Cross evacuation centers, the Society's Shelter is also a drop-off point for animals following a natural disaster such as flood, fire or earthquake.

Great experience from start to finish! Rescued 2 dogs, and they are the greatest dogs ever! I searched all over Ventura county for dogs like mine, and Camarillo, Ventura and Westlake shelter did not have a great selection of animals. I am so glad I went to SPARC and would recommend them to anyone! Ask for Rae and tell her "Coach Eddie" sent you :) ...you'll be glad you did!

My healthy, loving, yet very exited and high energy dog was taken to this shelter by my mom after I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. At the time I was in a wheelchair and my home life had been turned upside down! Keeping a sweet, yet hyper dog like her was just too much for my husband, myself an our kids for that time. Well, sadly to say we went back to see what ever happened to her, and they told us she was euthanized!!! I'm very sad because she was not vicious AT ALL!! I'm in remission now and my prayer was that I could just maybe see my baby again, but thanks to them, never! I think it was all because she was a pit bull mix and they just do it as protocol! If you ever are in a bind, and for some reason can't keep you dog, ESPECIALLY A PIT BULL!!! Always look into rescues first! Wish I would if known of these places before my baby got taken for no good reason! I feel so guilty!!! Bad rep!! Please Adopt, don't breed!
