Discount Auto Repair
They have excellent customer service, nobody can beat their prices. They did excellent work on all my vehicles. He showed me the work they did plus the bad parts they took off and explained everything in detail. Before they did any work on any of my vehicles he called me told me exactly whats wrong and gave me a detailed estimate of parts, labor, ect.. And every time I had something fixed his estimates were right on. I won't go anywhere else! There just wonderful, and very honest! They never try fixing something that don't need to be fixed like a lot of garages do. I will always be their customer! Thank you Discount Auto!

Discount Auto Repair
Best place to take your car in Oshkosh for repairs. Customer service is amazing!! Unbeatable low prices. Took my car in last week for new tie rods, windsheild wiper pump, and to fix the gas hand gauge that didn't register how much gas was in the car anymore. He was over one hundred dollars cheaper than any other estimate I had gotten and to my superpise he secured/ fixed my glove department box that was hanging very loosely, free of charge!!! I was so thrilled !! I highly recommend discount auto repair to everyone now. Thank you again mark !

Discount Auto Repair has the best customer service I have ever seen. Once we started bringing our vehicles there we never bothered to go anywhere else. They are very good at what they doing and very thorough. Before paying the bill he will show you everything he repaired and have you look at the car with him. On one of the repairs he even showed me the bad part he had removed and explained what was wrong with it. He makes sure you are satisfied with the work. This is how a business should operate.

HM & BB Installations, LLC
So far the best shop I've been to. Brian was very courteous and flexible in scheduling and getting the work done quickly. (I will say they are a small operation so sometimes it can be tough to get in, but the service is worth the wait.) He had the worn parts to show me and was happy to discuss the work completed and show the new parts on the vehicle. They are the type of shop that will assess your needs instead of just the blanket "replace it" approach found at most places.

A Plus Automotive Tire & Brake
They were attentive when I just stopped in spur of the moment, and they warned me of future fixes that I should do, but they weren't pushy about it. Given that I have a tight budget, I appreciate the warning rather than saying I need it right now. Great service and competitive prices. I will definitely be back.

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
