Animal Hospital At Vista Lakes
Ok so I have been going to this vet for over 2 years and one thing I have to say is they are very nice ppl. They call you the next day to find out how your pet is doing and seem to genuinely care. I have taken my mom's yorkiepoo, my yorkiepoo and my Olde English bulldog there and they were always very good to them, no complaints; But recently I bought an English bulldog and that was when everything went down hill. The first time I took her there at 9 weeks they gave her DHPPC. At 11 weeks I took her back and they gave her DHPPCLB, little did I know that the L is for "Leptospirosis" This is a shot they should of asked me if I wanted to give her but they didn't. They just gave it to her and my dog had a very bad reaction and had to bring her back to them for some anti-biotics. Got her back like 2hr later :( and had to give her benydril for the next three days for her to fully recover. Next time I saw them I was asked if I was going to breed her, I said maybe and they said was i aware that she would need a c-section to deliver her puppies and they would charge $2,000.00+ for the procedure; on the other hand if I would want to spay her it will run me $500.00+ but I should do it before her 1st heat cycle. After doing some research I found out that it is not healthy to spay your bulldog so early because they will never fully develop their head and chest if you cut of their hormones so early, I also learned that the prices they were quoting me were off the charts and I should not have to pay so much for simple procedures. Anyways, needless to say, that will be the last time we go there. Thank you and I hope this helpedOK so I went back on my word and went back to this place, maybe because I really like the ppl that work there IDK but anyways I was asked about my review that I left on here and was nicely explained about the “Leptospirosis” and the spaying them to soon, I was very happy about how the lady talked to me and explained everything to me. I def see where she is coming from and I understand everything she said, I don’t know if I’m going to keep going back there or not but we’ll see. This here is just what I think about this place and like everything else I do I try and find the best deal for my money so with that said I still think they are pricey in something’s but good with others. Now I have 2 English bulldog and will def be breeding this one but don’t think I would be getting the c-section with them , To end this I would like to say, this Vet is one of the nicest, and caring animal hospital I have been to in Orlando, FL and I am giving them a 4 star because they are good at what they do.

Crystal Creek Animal Hospital
About a year ago I decided to take my cat to the vet for her first time, my grandma was already taking her cats to Crystal Creek and suggested I take her there. I'm really glad I did because my untrained eyes didn't notice how sick she was. The first thing that I really like is that there are two entrances, one for dogs and one for cats, that way they are separated in the waiting room. This helped keep my kitty more relaxed since she's not used to being around dogs. The whole office is super clean and organized, and they are really good about explaining everything they are doing and telling you what they want to do and how much everything will cost BEFORE they do anything (which is a problem my mom has with her vet). When they examine the animals they are so calm and they do everything in such a way that its easier for everyone. I can't even describe in words how good they are with all of the animals in their care. When I took my cat in they immediately noticed that she was really jaundice and overall sickly, they told me if I hadnt taken her when I did she wouldve died that weekend. So they took her in immediately and started testing and treating her. She stayed there for about a month with a feeding tube and iv, they nursed her back to health while diagnosing her with pancreatitis. She was on the brink of death to the point where she almost needed a blood transfusion, but the amazing people at Crystal Creek saved her life which I am forever grateful for. They also were really good about my financial situation and let me pay off the bills with a payment plan. I can't stress enough how amazing they are, so if your looking for a Vet to take your pets to I highly recommend them!

Bay Hill Cat Hospital
My cat was failing despite the attempts of 2 other small animal vet offices trying to determine the cause of her condition. I finally took her to Bay Hill because I figured a cat specialist may be familiar with this specific disorder. Boy, was I right... Dr. Morford had a good idea what it was in about 5 to 10 minutes and a simple x-ray confirmed it... an impacted colon which was dealt with efficiently and expertly. I left much-relieved with a kitty no longer in painful distress and in fear for her life and a plan of action to ensure that it not happen again. Dr. Morford herself called me at home in due time to make sure her patient was progressing well.I am completely convinced that this is the place to bring my cats when they need informed, caring, and complete care. I never felt rushed while with the doctor, and didn't wait at all to see her. Every question and concern I had was answered, and the possible procedures were patiently explained and presented with their costs in a list. It was really easy to understand that way. I did not find the cost of their services more expensive than any other small-animal vet. The staff is knowledgeable and professional with a friendly touch and takes the time to attend to your needs.... it's not one of those too-busy offices that don't have the time of day to give you. I will not hesitate to visit Bay Hill again, despite the fact that I have vets much more close-by. Please give them a try!

Universal Animal Clinic
We consider ourselves lucky to have Dr. Khanna as our vet for past 14 years. His experience and knowledge is excellent. He has always correctly diagnosed problems with our pets Max, Sam and Tyson. He answers phone even during middle of night whenever our pets had any issues. We lost our son Max to cancer last year and Dr. Khanna was there with us during that difficult time. Sam is 14 years old now and had stroke like symptoms last year. We rushed him to Dr. Khanna and he told us that it was vestibular disease and treated Sam successfully. There have been numerous incidents where Dr. Khanna's correct diagnosis and treatment saved our pet's lives. He is honest and believes in long term relationship. You can be rest assured that he will only do what is needed for your pet instead of charging for different tests as some of the clinics do. Thank you Dr. Khanna and your wonderful staff for helping our pets. Regards,Vikas and Tina

Animal Hospital At Vista Lakes
My regular vet was off the day my dog was really sick and needed to be seen. I took him to Animal Hospital at Vista Lakes. He was seen by Dr. Morales. Dr Morales was great. She was so good and very gentle with him. I really like her. She took a lot of time with him. and explain everything to me about what was going on with him. I like her so much I decided to stay with her and not go back to the vet that I was going to. Staff was very pleasant and very helpful. Place was very clean. Prices were same as every other vets services. Which I had no problem paying because of the great service I received. I highly recommend this place and highly recommend Dr. Morales. She sure knows what she is doing. She did more for my dog then his regular vet, He is responding to treatment much better then the treatment he was on. He seems a lot better now. I'm so glad I picked this place to take him to.

Banfield Pet Hospital
Your pets will get excellent care at this hospital--my only pet peeve is the pricing. My former vet in NY never charged me constantly for everything separately the way Banfield does. I took my cats for rabies and distemper shots, and they gave the rabies shots, but made me come back for a separate visit for the distemper shots, meaning a separate visit fee, as well as the fee for the shots. And I didn't bother to sign up for the "insurance plan". I have cats--they stress easily and hate being out of their familiar surroundings--they hate going to the vet. Constant vet visits shouldn't be necessary---I saw my NY vet once a year as long as my cat's blood tests came back normal, or unless the vet saw something that he felt I should address. The care is good, but start saving--you'll need it.

Animal Health Center of South John Young Parkway
AKC Grand CH Le Glorious Lombardi du NOLA's Caniche Rouge will have his next show this upcoming weekend. His leg injury is healed and the stitches left only a tiny scar. Thanks so much to Dr. Young and his staff, who provided the Best care to my special boy! We were in town for the Eukenuba Dog Show and located Dr. Young and the Animal Health Center using The receptionist was personable AND knowledgable when I called with questions. Dr. Young took time explaining our care options and did a wonderful job with Lombardi - who is my pride and joy and my heart! We'll be returning for the Eukenuba Dog Show in 2013. Hopefully we won't need Dr. Young and his staff. But if I ever need a vet in Orlando, FL. It will be Animal Health Center I call.

Universal Animal Clinic
I went to Universal Animal Clinic for the first time last year after a friend recommended Dr. Khanna and I got sick of the long wait times and obnoxiously high prices at my old vet and had a great experience. The location was easy to get to from anywhere in Orlando, right off 1-4 and the staff is very attentive and kind. Dr. Khanna is absolutely terrific and any pet owner who's looking for a wonderful and experienced vet should try this Vet. My Peek's teeth and breath had become unbrearable (since he was a nightmare to try and brush) and another vet quoted an outrageously high price for cleaning and several extractions, but the pricing at Universal Animal Clinic was significantly less and the job he did was remarkable! Great vet!!

Sand Lake Animal Clinic
I can't say enough positive things about the veterinarians and staff at Sand Lake Animal Clinic! I have been a client for nearly 20 years (and 5 dogs). Today was a reminder that I sometimes take for granted how much they care. My older Frenchie has a congenital spinal deformity causing progressively weak hind legs. Dr. Rodrigo Rivera has been following her for quite a while, and let me know there was a "doggie wheelchair" in the back that she could try when the time came. Today, he spent nearly an hour fitting her and making adjustments until it fit just right. Drs. Spurgeon, Nash, and Rivera, along with many of the techs and office staff, witnessed her maiden voyage and seemed almost as happy as I was when she ran down the hall!

Eastwood Animal Hospital
The vet at Eastwood Animal Hospital was able to cure our cat with a chronic sneezing & congestion problem. We had been taking our cat to the Waterford Lakes Animal Hospital and the vet there kept asking us to order alternative remedies and herbs online. After 2 years with no results, we switched to Eastwood Animal Hospital. The vet ran a thorough series of tests and gave us a prescription. In just a few weeks our cat's health issues have cleared up (after 2 years of no results with Waterford Lakes Animal Hospital). The prices are higher, but our pets are members of our family and we are willing to pay for their health. Eastwood Animal Hospital is the best place to care for your pet in East Orlando.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
