Mathis Son Septic Service
We used this company for an inspection for a home in Kissimmee, FL. Their report stated that we had 1-2 feet of sand at the base of our tank and that the leach lines were in need of replacement - thousands of dollars in repairs needed. We obtained 2 other licensed inspections, both independently concluded that there were no issues with the leach lines and that there was no sand in the tank. We have been in the home for over 2 months with no issues whatsoever. From our experience, company is either dishonest or has incompetent workers. Although this may be an isolated incident, please be aware of such practices.

Total Enviro Services Inc.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! I think after dealing with Total Enviro for the last month and things ending the way they did, my husband might possibly have a heart attack. The stress it has caused him and the rest of our family has been awful. He and I both own our own businesses and would be out of business if we treated our customers the way they treated us. Something that was supposed to be a simple drain field installation done in 48 hours turned into hell. The company told us the permit would take 4-5 days and it ended up taking 3 weeks. Then once we got the permit it took 6 days even though we were told 48 hours. The GM Jeff told my husband that he was a liar and that he would no longer be taking his calls mid-job. Then we were told the the next day that GM Jeff was fired. Then we were told the next day by another worker that Jeff was not fired but had put in his 2 week notice 1 week prior to doing our job. 2 of the workers refused to come back to our house because my father who knows a lot about septic tanks was questioning some of their work and they couldn't handle him watching and correcting their work as necessary to get the job done right. Our drain field failed inspection the first time and we were told later by Phil that he knew it would fail inspection because it wasn't even close to the right size for the square footage of our house. My husband called the county several times throughout the process to make sure that he knew the new size it had to be and when a different inspector (a good ole boy like Phil) came the next time from the county he didn't even measure anything and just told my husband that it just had to be bigger than it was the first time. The first inspector was here for 1 full hour and this second inspector was here for only 10 minutes and did not even measure anything. In retrospect, I am 100% sure that Total Enviro paid off the inspector to get us to pass and finish the job. At the end of the job, we were so dissatisfied everything and expected them to give us financial compensation for all of the headaches they caused included being told "You are a liar" by the general manager and being told by another worker that the general manager refused to talk to my husband again. My husband demanded to talk to the owner, "Mr. Lapin" as everyone calls him, and was told that "Mr. Lapin does not talk to customers because he pays people to do that." Then instead of getting financially compensated, my husband was told that he would owe the full amount PLUS the $200 credit that we had overpaid for the deposit for an unnecessary part on the down payment would not be honored and that we had no proof that they never installed the part. My husband was fuming and was told that he would be given zero financial compensation and that if we did not pay within 24 hours that we were getting sued. THIS COMPANY SHOULD LOSE THEIR LICENSE AND SHOULD BE PERMANENTLY SHUT DOWN. How they have been in business this long baffles me and I strongly advise you to use anyone else BUT NOT THEM.

All Florida Septic
I had a backup in every bathroom in the house. When I called All Florida Septic, they had a service person at my home within 90 minutes. He was professional and very knowledgeable. He located the tank, dug it up, and had the problem fixed quickly. He gave us advice about how to maintain our system in the future. Very impressed with the service provided, and the rates were very reasonable for what they did. We highly recommend this company.

Ace Discount Septic, INC.
Service provider arrived early. A company representative appeared ahead of the truck to locate the tank. Then weirdness occurred. The provider arrived in a truck labeled with another company's name. Then a worker announced fulshable wipes were noticed in the tank and for another $75 the unnamed solution in an unmarked Hawaiian Punch-style.bottle he had would dissolve paper. He added that he spoke to my wife, but neglected to say my wife said I should make the decision. He asked I write a check to him personally and did not provide a receipt. He did not get his $75 "tip". Hopefully, no one else will fall for it either.

All Florida Septic
I had company coming when my drains backed up. I called another company and they made an appointment for the next afternoon but the guy on the truck called me and said he might not make it. So I talked to All Florida Septic and they were here in an hour. Took just minutes to locate the tank and dig it up. The person then talked to me about the tank; who had manufactured it and when it had probably been built and installed. They got right to work and promptly pumped the tank out, sealed and covered it. Before he left, he talked to me about the drainfield. He said it was probably okay but told me what to look for that might be causing problems. And he charged me less than the original company quoted me. Extremely happy with their service.
Tips & Advices
Though your tank can handle many gallons of water, too much water at one time can overwork the system and cause solid waste to enter the drain field.
To prevent pipe damage, call 811 before you begin any project that would require you to dig. A professional can detect which areas you need to stay away from. Remember, there could be more than just your septic system beneath your land - wires and cables may also run through your property.
A number of factors can cause baffles, lines, and pipes to break or crack, including:
  • Digging in the wrong place
  • Sulfuric acid or rust deterioration
  • Tree-root infiltration
Using a special camera, a contractor should be able to locate the crack or leak and replace the part.
Clogs or backups are usually caused by improper or too-infrequent pumping. Your tank is completely full, and solid waste is being forced through the outlet tee baffle and clogging it. Some signs that you have a clog include:
  • Wastewater backing up in your drains in your home
  • Foul odors in your home
  • Water draining slowly
Preventing septic system failure also involves keeping the drain field clear. Never drive or park over the drain field, and don't allow livestock to walk over it. Heavy equipment should also be kept away from this area.
