Ed's Automotive
I have a 1997 Ford Expedition that my family calls "The Beast". I had to have it fixed because the check engine light that turned on and off at times finally turned on and stayed on. My registration is due so I had to get it fixed. Also The Beast lately seemed to have much less power than before and the steering shook badly when braking. Ed's Automotive fixed the check engine light by diagnosing which of the many oxygen sensors was bad and replacing it and while checking out my front brakes they found some bar that needed to be tightened. (That loose bar must have been loose for years and years! Dang!) The car now has lots of pep. The gas mileage has improved dramatically which I think goes along with it having more power. The shaking during braking is reduced 90%. They didn't even charge me to find and tighten the loose bar. I wish I would have had it fixed a long time ago.I went there because a friend told me that it is where he goes. I am so glad that I went there. Well, that is my story. To make it a bit more interesting I thought I'd share that I made my petite little girl drive that BEAST around for the first 2 years that she got her license. If she got in an accident I figured she would fare better than if she were in a Miata. Also, I didn't want my nice cars smashed. Well, she was never in an accident but at least I slept well at night knowing I was protecting my baby girl as much as I could. -- Old WordPerfect Tech Guy

Dave's Canyon Auto
I've taken my car to Dave's a few times for various things when I lived in Orem and always had honest service. This last time, I drove down from Salt Lake (I've recently moved) for something else and needed to take my car in because it started overheating. They were slammed from the recent holiday but still made my car a priority since I had to drive back to Salt Lake. They were upfront and honest about what the diagnosis was and what the repair results would be. I was texting people I know about the issue while I waited and asked some follow up questions to make sure they weren't missing something. I asked and Dave even took me back into the shop to check on what the mechanic was doing, look at the clogged radiator, and make sure all of the information was clear. The whole time I was there, people kept coming in, making it busier, and they were still attentive to everyone, even sometimes fixing little things in the parking lot since the bays were full. I've always felt like they give honest service and pricing and always seem appreciative for business, even though they're often busy. Thanks for the great service, guys!

Medallion Motors
My van alternator went out on our way home from picking up the 12 High school kids only 2 miles from my home. As I nursed the vehicle to a parking lot directly across the busy State Street from Medallion Motors in Orem. In literally minutes and without a call from me, Darren Peper and Bill Bateman from MM showed up without a call from me!. The battery was quickly jumped and then diagnosed RIGHT THERE in the parking lot. They offered to charge the battery long enough to get me home. By the time I got the van across the street, Bill was on the phone with the second location finding an alternator that would repair my van. While he was telling me what options I would have and the costs/warranties available, Darren grabbed a bucket with some solution and began to restore my headlights from a dull haze to shiny and new. On this holiday weekend Bill and Darren had my van fixed by noon the next day!! Quick service, fair price, and an overall awesome experience!! THANK YOU

Dave's Canyon Auto
I went here because it was close to my home. The first time I took my car in because it was vibrating a lot. They replaced an engine mount very quickly which was great! It still vibrated though. I took it back one morning. A couple hours after I dropped it off, I noticed that the window on my car was rolled down. I ended up calling them to tell them to roll up the window. 3 hours later it was still down. So I took the liberty of rolling the window up on my way to work and they had LEFT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION! They weren't getting to the car till two days later on a Monday. So I knew they just left it that way all day. Needless to say, I took the car back and will not give them my business again. They were pretty rude all around and were terrible at explaining what they were doing to my car. I do not recommend this mechanic.

Dave's Canyon Auto
My daughter rear ended another car. We called a repair shop down the street from Top Notch and they told us to bring the car in at 11:00 AM that day. (I was at work). My daughter took the car in and was told she couldn't be seen until Monday. She googled repair shops near by and Top Notch popped up. Best google Search EVER! They took the car with no problem. They kept us up to date with how the repairs were going. Every time I called whoever answered the phone was kind and very professional. The repairs took a bit longer than our insurance thought they should and Dave picked up the cost of our rental. My car is better than it was when we took it in. Great job, Top Notch! I thank you for all you've done and am forever grateful!

Dave's Canyon Auto
I live close by 800 North, so I've been taking my cars to Dave's Canyon Auto since he opened 20 years ago...and there's a reason for that. I know that Dave gives me a fair price. Actually, it's usually the best price in town. I'll often compare, and each time I do, their prices match the cheapest in town or are usually a better price. And it happens without me asking. Good pricing seems to be standard procedure. And they don't fix things that don't need to be done. The quality of work has always been good. I'd recommend them to anyone.

The Car Doctor Of Orem
This is the best auto repair shop I have ever been to. Eddie went the extra mile at every turn to find out what was wrong with my car and to find the wisest and most economical way to fix the problem. He spent extra hours troubleshooting and even installed a couple of items free of charge. I was so appreciative for Eddie going the extra mile and for his teams honest and great service! I've never seen anyone go as above and beyond as much as The Car Doctor of Orem has and I am happy to find a great mechanic that I can trust!

Dave's Canyon Auto
I have taken my cars here for things ranging from a track bar on a Jeep Cherokee, brakes on a Honda Civic, and just recently a starter on another Jeep Cherokee. I typically knew what needed to be done every time I took my cars in and sure enough that was what needed fixing. They are honest and have a fair price for the good work they do. In my case all repairs were same day repairs. Dave is a good guy and I will continue taking my cars there if I can't do the repairs myself.

Dave's Canyon Auto
I was skeptical at first to see all 5 stars from other reviews. But I guess they deserve it. I decided to give them a try. They repaired my brakes at a fair price, and I can tell that they did a good job. I would like to find a place where I know I can take my car and trust I can be taken care of. I have not decided yet that this place, but I will be back to see.

Pro Auto Repair
I have been going to Dave at Westside Auto for 10 years. He has always treated us with respect, and tried to be as helpful as possible for a fair price. He is a master Mechanic and can treat all types of cars. He has even resolved problems that the dealer service was unable to fix. I recommend his auto shop to all of my friends.
Tips & Advices
You should change your oil filter whenever you change your oil, that is, approximately every 7,500 miles.
A oil filter is a device that helps remove contaminants from motor oil as it passes through the engine. A pump pushed the oil through the filter where it is strained and goes back to the engine.
High-mileage oil contains special conditioners that are said to help prevent gaskets from drying out and thus preventing leaks. This can be beneficial to engines with many miles on them.
Synthetic oil costs more than conventional oil, but the price is offset by the need for less frequent oil changes due to the oil’s durability.
Tools needed to change your own oil include jack stands or ramps, a wrench, an oil filter wrench, an oil drip pan, funnel, replacement oil filter, and replacement oil.
