Kool Smiles of Orangeburg
Kool Smiles of Orangeburg is a great place to take all of your kids and even go for yourself. It's clean and all the staff are super nice and patient with children even when they get a little upset. We took all 4 of our boys at the same time and they were patient and nice and we were in and put of there within a hour and a half after they all had their teeth cleaned! I highly recommend anyone going to Kool Smiles of Orangeburg. Thank you.

Not often you go to a busy establishment and still be treated like VIP. I went to Kool Smiles with my girlfriend and they were cleaning her teeth. I started coughing and instantly Ms Kala bought me some water and gave my girlfriend a warm blanket. Now what's special about this is we didn't have to ask she instantly notice our needs. That is extraordinary service. I will cone back to get my teeth clean. Thanks Ms Kala

Our wait in the waiting room was very short but once my child was put in a chair in the back he sat for over an hour before a hygienist came to clean his teeth. She was very nice however. After she was done the dentist was supposed to be right over. 30 minutes later no dr. I gladly got my child and left. The kool smiles on forest drive was not this way at all. We was there 2 and a half hours and never saw a dr.

Normally the wait time is good, but on my recent visit my daughter waited in the chair for almost an hour and then I was informed that I could not bring my 6 year old son in the back to wait any longer. So I had to leave both children unattended while I went back and forth from the waiting area to the dental area to monitor both children. That was extremely frustrating!

Orangburg Kool Smiles is one in a million. The staff is extraordinary! My daughter played up front with the toys with the Brightest smile on her face. Then they called us in the back she got her teeth cleaned and Ms Kala gave her a coloring book and crayon she was so excited. Then before she left she received a balloon. This was the best day ever. Thank you

Today was an extraordinary day, I bought my daughter to Kool Smiles with the expectations of being there all day. Boy was I surprised! We were in and out quickly! The staff was friendly and Kala was stupendous! She took my daughter xray and read a book to her. And before we left Kala gave her a toy! Kala has a best friend for ever! Thanks Kool Smiles!

I really appreciate the staff at Kool Smiles. My schedule is very hectic and getting my kids in for dental appointments at other places is a headache. A friend told me try Kool Smiles and I'm glad I did. Not only do they work around my crazy schedule but they get my kids in and out as quickly as possible. I definitely reccomend them.

I went and it was great. This was my first time going and it was a very nice first experience. The dental assistants were very nice and The dentist Dr was very nice and could tell he was excited to see me. He checked my teeth and told me I have a cavity and she'll see me tomorrow. I am actually looking forward to going back.

I love Kool Smiles!!!They are so nice and put children at ease and my son was not afraid. He went yesterday and he came home and he said I'm ready to go back cause they don't hurt and they gave me stuff to clean my teeth and toys. That's amazing for a 6 year old to love a dentist. Thank you Kool Smiles!!!!!
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
