YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

First and foremost, they recently received a health rating of 62 (October 2008). You can research this.\r \r As for my dilemma:\r \r I submitted my order to Jamie (the person who was in charge of decorating my wedding cake). I gave Jamie a picture of the cake that I wanted (3 layer cake w/ fondant icing). She personally told me, ""That will be no problem. Just pick out which icing you would like to have underneath the fondant."" She explained to me that the fondant layer would be peeled off of the cake and that the buttercream icing would be underneath. So, I submitted my order. On my wedding day, they dropped off my cake and there was NO fondant icing and the buttercream icing did not even cover the entire cake. The cake was leaning to one side because it had melted. \r \r Upon contacting their business in regards to getting some sort of refund, Jamie claimed that I only told her that I wanted buttercream icing (lie). In addition to returning half of the money we payed for the cake (thankfully), they included a letter which stated the following:\r \r ""Although I am refunding the money to you, I do not feel that you are entitled to it. As for the cake melting, any cake that is left in direct sunlight for any period of time will melt."" \r \r **Please note that the cake was melted upon delivery**\r \r I have never complained about a company in my entire life, but I have also never been so disappointed in my entire life. I will never get my wedding day back, and as far as the apology included in my refund-- that was no ""apology"".\r \r I'm begging everyone NOT to go to **KATHLEEN'S BAKERY/FLORIST/TOW SHOP**. (Yes, we later found out that there is also a tow shop in the business.)\r \r BUYERS BEWARE!!\r

I work at Fort Lee and started a Peer-to-Peer Appreciation Program - for 3 months we bought and sold cupcakes as a fund raiser for our parties. The variety of cupcakes was great and the boxes used to deliver one-by-one were great! Loved loved the carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes. This is a small business not some large crank out 100's at a time business so you have to feel good. I like small businesses as they want to know me better and really do try to give me what I want Great 8 Cupcakes is just that kind of business.

From: hobnobgulfshores dot com The big man called and said he had been told to check out Old World Bakery and Pizza in Gulf Shores. Old World started out down Ft. Morgan Road pre-Ivan when its location received a very un-welcomed bath. Around a year later Old World relocated to 132 West 1st Avenue a block from the beach. When we entered Old World the aroma of Cinnamon rolls filled the air. Now, how are we supposed stay focused on the great Italian food we had heard about when there are fresh cinnamon rolls in front of us. The restaurant was clean with a health rating of 96. We were the only dine-in customers when we arrived, so we were greeted promptly and our beverage order taken. When our waitress returned to take our order, the big man ask the waitress, how many ingredients he could have put in a calzone? She was quick to let him know that five makes it more manageable to prepare and eat. He orders, ""I would like a calzone with crawfish, shrimp, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, red onion, ""that's five right?"" Who's counting? After about ten minutes, the waitress brings out a gargantuan pizza tray with what looked like a meal for three. No, just lunch for one. This calzone was overstuffed and browned to perfection. Served with a fantastically fresh looking and aromatic marinara, it was time to eat. The first bite of this Italian Turnover, he stated it was the best in town. That is saying a lot, because there are some fantastic establishments to have a calzone in our area. He continued to talk about his choice of fillings and stated that the marinara did not have the hint of aluminum can you may taste at some other restaurants in the area. As time past, the room was filled with customers sharing pizza and pastries. The ""Big Man's"" calzone was a constant topic of conversation, as people walking in saw what was sitting in front of him. Then it happened. He ask for a to go box! Is he o.k.? Could it be because he was full, or maybe because he ate fifty chicken wings in seventeen minutes a few night before. (That's a story for next week) The Old World Bakery and Pizza lunch experience rated as follows: Ambiance - 9.1 Cleanliness - 9.6* (based on health department rating) Service - 8.7 Food - 8.5 Price - 8.0 Total - 8.78 The Old World Bakery and Pizza was a very pleasant experience and we recommend you are craving Italian in Gulf Shores. I visit Sweetie Pies every chance I get! Their pies are amazing and the service is great! You aren't waited on by just anyone either. The people at work are actually the family who owns the store. Tammy has owned it for 19 years and I must say that bringing in her daughter and the younger generation was a great idea! The lunches are great also! My favorite is the talking turkey! Everyone should stop in and give it a try!
