Pets-R-Us
Stay away from this deceptive business! I purchased a puppy from Pets R Us and was promised she was an Ausky (half Husky, half Australian Shepherd). Our vet told us there was no way she was an Ausky so I purchased a canine DNA test for confirmation. While waiting for the results, I contacted the breeder who was listed on my dog's paperwork. She was furious when I told her Pets R Us was marketing these dogs as Ausky puppies. Her husky mix got out and impregnated the mutt down the street from her. She said she basically gave the puppies away and told the store owner these were nothing more than mutts. Our canine DNA test confirmed this dog was 62.5% a mix of three or more breeds, 12.5% Coonhound, 12.5% Labrador Retriever, and 12.5% Husky. There are multiple reviews of this store stating similar experiences where the customer was later told by their vet that the puppy was not what they were promised by Pets R Us.

The Dog House
DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!! After my groomer retired, a friend did recommend. I called and finally, after almost a week Mark ( the owner) called me back. FLAG #1. In this conversation he said, "Bring your dog on Friday" and hung up. This was the another indication of how weird he is! FLAD #2. I brought my dog in and picked her up. Since I needed to get back to work I did not do a complete inspection until I got home. I will note that when I saw her it did not look like she had been groomed very well. However I paid my bill and even left a tip. When I got home that evening I started inspecting my dog a little closer. The grooming was done very poorly and not complete. I called the Dog House and left two very nice messages. Finally, after three days Mark called me and said that we just disagreed about the grooming. I said that was fine and that I would like to take my dog in again to finish the job. He told me Petsmart has kids that do grooming and go there. ( I will note that I have used Petsmart in the past when my groomer was unavailable and the individual there did a much better job than the Dog House!). Mark was rude, disrespectful, and really a jerk! While I was waiting to pick up my dog, Mark was at the front desk and noted that he had been telling people he was out on a medical emergency that day, but in reality he was at a deposition. He then spoke about black people and how unsafe this world is and that So many of "them" hang out at Walmart. He was just babbling on but I found it quite offensive (considering my family and background) and this was my FINAL (FLAG #3) clue that this was not an establishment that I would go back to!

Pets-R-Us
I had the most worst experience by going to pets R Us here in Omaha Nebraska I found the most cutest little girl to replace my little girl that I had just put to sleep 3 weeks ago I only had her a day and a half and had to take her to the doctor she was tested for parvo and had history in her jeans from her mother and they still put these poor puppies up for sale to have people get attached to spend more money on them I would not recommend ever going to pets R Us

Pets-R-Us
If I could give zero, I would. Puppies in bare cages with hard floors, no stimulation, one was bleeding, several showed signs of behavioural issues (circling, staring a at wall). Appalling. Staff uninterested in dogs and in serving. Worse pet shop I have visited in 4 countries!

Downtown Hound
Took Brutus and Lady to the groomer at Downtown Hound and this is what I discovered. I specifically said not to cut her Papillion ear hair and they did. She had a total of 6 spots where the clippers left a mark on the skin and one spot that drew blood. Brutus had two spots where the clippers left a mark on his skin. When I called them they told me that they would get back to me. They said the groomer borrowed someone else's clippers and the blade was shorter and that is why the clipper cut them. She reassured me and said that he had 20 years experience. Why didn't they tell me when I picked them up. She said that the groomer offered a free grooming next time. I told the lady would you want to take you dogs back to a groomer that did that. They asked me what I wanted to make this right.

Abcd Dog & Cat Grooming
Do not take your dog here. I concur with JSColdwell08 but did not see this rating page until after the fact. In my case it took over five hours and the dog was not given any water or potty time. Overcharged for hurting the dog and awful grooming.

Abcd Dog & Cat Grooming
I've been taking my dogs here for years. They are very knowledgeable about dogs too. I missed that one of my dogs needing a teeth cleaning...they were great in pointing it out. They always ask me how I want my schnauzers cut because that's what groomers are suppose to do! I groomed dogs for 20yrs....It's nice to have someone that knows what they are doing groom my dogs! It's a treat! I'm picky and I never have to cut any 'wild hairs' that pop up either. I live in Iowa and it's worth the drive over the bridge!
Tips & Advices
Many people fear that their pet will be injured at the groomer, but incidents of serious injury are infrequent. For minor injuries , it is appropriate the groomer pay the vet bill, and can usually be worked out between groomer and owner. For moderate to severe injuries, you can attempt to activate groomer’s liability insurance to cover medical expenses. However, be aware that most groomer contracts stipulate that the business does not assume responsibility.
Staff at groomers know that there is inherent risk when handling animals, and they are familiar with being snapped at or bitten. However, it is not a normal occurrence or something you should ignore. Many people choose to cover medical expenses or pay extra--at minimum, apologize and get the dog into behavior classes. It is a given that  you should sedate or muzzle the animal for all future grooming sessions.
It is always recommended to make an appointment to get your pet groomed. While some groomers, especially in the larger pet stores, can accommodate with short notice, popular neighborhood groomers are often booked out two weeks out or longer on weekends.
If your pet has sensitive skin, let the groomer know when you set the appointment. But be aware, all dogs have sensitive skin by human standards--their skin is much thinner. Therefore, you should be on the lookout for signs of sensitivity, and reduce it through regular grooming with gentle, natural shampoo and conditioner. Oatmeal shampoo is a favorite. Daily brushouts and omega oil supplements are recommended for every day at-home care.
For various reasons including insurance clauses and pet-owner relationship dynamics and behaviors, groomers prefer owners don’t stay with their pets while being groomed.
