Old Mill Apartments
This is a disgusting complex with very nasty management. The apartments were built in 1970 and have never been updated. My unit was FULL of toxic black mold that the management refused to fix (blamed it on me) and after paying on time for 7 years, sent me a bill for carpet cleaning and painting. The place was a mess when I moved in- in far better shape when I moved out. The manager is a teenage girl who is very nasty and unprofessional. Nothing gets fixed here, buildings ARE NOT SECURE- as in anyone can walk in your building without a key. The place smells like cheap marijuana and dog urine. I would not recoomend even looking here.

Royalwood On The Green Apartments
Rude management! Kelli (manager) won't return your phone call and when she does (4 days later) she is rude and won't help you. I waited for my deposit for MONTHS! I gave Kelli (manager) my forwarding address when I turned in keys and claims that she sent the deposit statement to me but I never got it. She said, "Well I sent it so there is nothing I can do," and then she hung up the phone on me.Don't move in here because Kelli (manager) is rude!

Cartie Apartments
Lovely apartments, although some have a more interesting floor plan. Both on site management and realty office are easy to work with. Manager is willing to answer every question you can think of and maintenance issues are dealt with promptly - though there have not been many in the 3 years I've lived here. Generally quiet community, nice people. Manager is very friendly and helpful.

Beacon Hill
DO NOT APPLY HERE! DON'T DO IT! I got two money orders. One for the credit application fee which was non refundable and another for $300 for the deposit. The manager Chris told me not to fill it out to the apartment complex in case I was not approved, so I left it blanked so that I could get it back if my application was not approved. He also told me to keep the receipt for the money order with the actual money order and I did. They told me today that I was not approved. When I went in to get the refundable deposit of $300, they told me that they sent it up to another complex on 108th and Maple. I drove up there and they told me that they never recieved the paperwork and Beacon Hills had been broken into and all the deposits were stolen. They wouldn't write me a check for my money so I went back to Beacon Hills and complained. The girl I talked to at Beacon Hills got mad at me for wanting my money back and told me she wouldn't write a check for my money and I should call the number on my receipt. Since they had the reciept with the deposit I obviously couldn't get my money back from the money order company. She told me it wasn't her fault that the office got broken into and I was out of luck. They should have told me when the break in happened that my deposit was stolen. They didn't contact me to tell me that and they didn't tell me what had happened when I called to check up on my application today, yesterday, and the day before. Don't waste your money to apply at this place. The managment is rude and don't care that other people's deposits were stolen too and tenets' packages. They are not refunding anyone. Don't risk it. If this is how they treat peopole that aren't even living there yet, how will they treat their tenets? On top of all of that, when I looked at the apartment I was going to rent, you could here the neighbor's dog barking. The walls were not very soundproof. The lawn wasn't taken care of. It was all dead. They never watered it. The outside appearance of the complex is good from afar, but up close, it looks like it is going to fall apart. There aren't laundry hook-ups inside the units and you would have to walk outside to another entrance to get to the laundry room. This would be very inconvenient during the winter time when there is ice and snow. A current tenet told me that the swimming pool is closed every other week because of broken water pipes and such. They also have lots of spiders and bugs in their apartment (they live on the bottom floor). Not all of the units have been upgraded. The one I was going to get had a dishwasher, oven and refrigerator that looked like it was from the late 80's early 90's which made me wonder if they still worked. The garages also looked like they were falling apart and had no power garages. I don't think it's even worth looking at. Please don't waste your time or money.
