As a child I remember Cookies & Kool-Aid and wondering why VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL wasn't for the whole summer. Chuck & Karen McKeag made it FUN, unlike other churches where it doesn't seem enjoyable to hear "The Word of the LORD." Now, many years later my youngest daughter is a Sparks in the Awana. They meet every Wednesday night from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. It is so refreshing to hear her tell EVERYONE that on Wednesdays she gets to go to 2 schools. Then from the time I pick her up after school until 6:15 pm all I hear is "How much longer until we leave for Awanas. Is it time yet?" The church is beautiful & the members are also. I have never felt pressured to do anything for the church to benefit from the church. They appreciate anything you give to them or help them with very much. I am not an early bird, so Sunday Morning Services & Sunday School is not my thing. I would suggest that they might have a Saturday Night Service with Kids Saturday School for an option. I would seriously think about driving elders & others who have no transportation, to Saturday Night Services (and Grocery Shopping after Service) for those who are in need. My husband & I had the ability of doing that for my mother & 2 of her friends, until the passing of 2 out of 3 of them just this year. Open your Hearts & Let the Lord in at Calvary Lutheran Church. This church has an exceptional choir with other hidden talents. The band is very good : ) The services are passionate and full of life and energy. One small, but minor drawbac; it's just too loud : ) In all honesty, I'm sure that they are not aware about the damaging effects high frequency have on long term ear damage. In the utmost respect, if they could just tune down the music and the loud service, I'll raise the bar to a five. Come for the experience. Everyone is friendly and it's multi-diversed. You'll like it : )

Why have a web site if you are not going to keep it current. If I was looking for a church in this neighborhood, nothing is listed to catch my interest.

Interesting information (though biased) and displays. Not very many original artifacts. Do not go if you don't want to be proselytized. You will be assigned a guide who is a Mormon missionary. They will try to get you interested in learning more about the Mormon Faith. It's not a hard sell but it is still pretty obvious what they are trying to do.

The church has a parking lot yet always parks on the street. Parking is a nightmare because no one uses it; we have to park around the corner since no one uses the lot. When asked about it, the church says they are free to park where they like.

Lifegate always states people report that they're so loving??? I have no, idea how anyone who spends any time there can say that... I wasted 7 yrs with the clickiest people on the planet. I don't know if the spilt caused this behavior as a way to protect themselves from further hurt? This is as loving as skin is deep! I guess you could call it loving if you only had a sick comparision!!! Most people in the world are a 100 X more loving. Pastor Les has no idea how his support pastors and board members treat people. They're arrogant and proud and wont speak to you when your alone with them even after you say "hi." I had this happen in the hall over 15X with one board member. They put on the "love" when the senior pastor is around! Then Les gets up frequently and brags about how loving his church is!!!!!

We're a congregation with a rich history, a biblical vision for the future, and a strong faith in Christ. As a multigenerational church we offer opportunities for people of all ages and stages of life. Come as you are, but also come expecting to grow. Our Vision: Everyone experiencing the love of Jesus Christ together: Everyone a Caregiver (John 13:34), Everyone a Disciple Maker (Matthew 28:19), Everyone a Missionary (Acts 1:8) What We Believe: Scripture Alone (Sola Scriptura) This declaration affirms that the Bible is authoritative as God's revealed word to humankind. For the Glory of God Alone (Soli Deo Gloria) When it comes to understanding the "why" of life, we believe that everything in creation, including ourselves, exists to know, celebrate, and honor how great God is. By the Work of Christ Alone (Solo Christo) There is no other mediator between God and humankind other than Jesus. We believe that it is through Jesus alone, through his death and resurrection on the cross, that we have the opportunity to approach God and enjoy God's love. By Grace Alone (Solo Gratia) We believe doing good works definitely has its place, but with this statement Reformed Theology declares that access to God isn't achieved through works, but through God choosing to show favor toward us out of God's mercy and grace. Our efforts and works then become our ongoing thank you note. By Faith Alone (Sola Fide) The Bible teaches that a relationship with God is free to those who seek it. Jesus has already paid the price for us. The love of God is available to us simply through faith-a combination of belief and trust.
