Venables Pest Management
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I used them for 2 years I lived in 2 stated traveled 90% of the time. I thought I stopped my service in March of 2014 and never heard from them again until I was buying a house in Aug of 2015 where they had reported me to a collection agency Armada, that could not do business in Utah. They had my account for 1 week and then reported me to collections even though they could not collect in Utah. When I finally heard from an agency I paid the bill that I never knew I had right away. Now the bill is paid and all I am asking them to do is remove it form my credit. Veneables is REFUSING to help so far.and ARMADA is also, because they broke the credit and collection laws. Be careful Veneables for 123.00 on a bill that was paid as soon as I knew about it has but a huge ding in my credit for the next 7 years. I would never do business with someone who treated good customers like that.

Action Pest Control Inc
Hide your wallets & don't bother calling to request a free estimate! Mathis Exterminating/Action Pest Control decides their prices depending on how much money they think you have. I know this by calling a few different times for quotes, every time I got the same Office gal (I believe her name was Rachael) which gave me a different price (large difference, mind you) each time for the exact same pest problem. The only thing I did differently was describe my personal situation a little differently. Rachael is also the gal that actually turned me away when I requested one of their technicians to come out for a Carpenter Ant problem I've been dealing with for some time. She proceeded to tell me they were some other insect and what I needed to do to get rid of them. I found it a little disturbing because she did not see the insect or situation I was concerned about so how could she possibly know what she was talking about! After hanging up I immediately called Orkin Pest Control (which I should've done in the first place), they came out right away and found I did in fact have a pretty severe Carpenter Ant infestation, needless to say I hired them on the spot. I have 15 rentals in the Puget Sound area as well as, 4 of my own personal properties that will all get pest control service......just NOT through Mathis! -As long as Mathis Exterminating has Rachael in the office I will NOT give them my business and will continue spreading my negative experience with everyone I know! I gave 1 star because I had to but honestly they do not even deserve that!
Tips & Advices
Ask your pest control company about no-kill traps you can use if you want to get mice, rabbits, opossums or other furry creatures out of your house without harming them.
Many pest control experts now offer environmentally friendly treatment for your home and yard with insecticides that aren't as harsh for the ecosystem. Check with exterminators around your area to see if they provide these kinds of services. Also, keep your plants free from harmful chemicals by spraying cedar oil or soapy water on your flowers.
  • Dispose of garbage regularly.
  • Don't ┬áleaving food or drink out.
  • Clean up after spills as soon as you can.
  • Drain any standing water in your house or yard.
  • Regularly mow and rake your lawn.
If you find insects and other animals trying to get in through cracks or openings, use a caulk gun to fill the gaps. You'll also want to either use traditional bug spray or a citronella candle to keep bugs such as mosquitos away from you during the summer months.
The price for exterminators can range broadly since they can charge for a monthly inspection and treatment. The final bill also comes down to the square footage of your property.
When pest control technicians visit your home or place of business, expect them to first identify what insect or other animal it is that's causing trouble. After identification, they will inspect your building to see where the pests are coming from and locate their hive or nest. Then the exterminator will spray or set out traps and bait according to which pest you have.
