My children have attended this center from infants to school-age. As school-agers, they are now only there on school holidays and breaks, since we live on the other side of town. I have to comment that this center has been fantastic and I feel that they have helped to raise my family. As we have moved through the age groups I have seen many teachers help them to learn and grow while feeling safe, secure and loved. The classrooms are divided into specific age groups, so their activities are geared towards their level. When my son was in the infant/toddler classrooms we bonded closely to all of his teachers, especially Ms. Nikki! We love to visit their old teachers, except my son gets embarassed to be called his nickname, lol:) When each of my kids went off to kindergarten their teachers were pleased with their knowledge of the alphabet, basic sight words and other skills that they hope for in a new kindergartener. I feel confident in my choice to bring my family to Kids R Kids Olathe.
Our son is in second grade but spent the first five years of his life at KRK. After a friend pointed out some reviews that are OBVIOUSLY for some OTHER day care, I just HAD to write one myself, because I call KRK the best day care on the planet. This child was born to me late in my life, so putting him in day care was very difficult for me. I never had used a day care before as I had lots of family around in the past. So I shopped, believe me, I SHOPPED!!! What made me choose Kids R Kids? The day I was there for my tour I saw a little girl of about 3, maybe 4, interacting with the girl at the front desk. I noticed how comfy and at home that child seemed and how natural the interaction was. SOLD!!! My son was there from eight weeks to five and a half years, and has dropped in a time or two since. The ONLY reason he isn't there after school NOW is because we live on the OTHER side of Olathe and they don't pick up at our school. I am here to tell you I could not have loved and cared for my child any better than they did. And I have been a mom for 26 years so I think maybe I might be qualified to comment on child care. From the first day he was there, I never had any qualms about any staff member. Sure, there are going to be different personalities, but the people who took care of him LOVED him. Never had a diaper rash, except a couple times he was teething, and he was always clean, fed, and happy when we picked him up. I dropped in unannounced in the middle of the day on lots of occasions when he was a baby...they encouraged that, and he was always happy...the curriculum was excellent and I loved the toy stations in each room. Potty training went well, and I don't ever remember seeing anything but happy kids when I was there. I liked that they served home cooked lunches, I liked that he could have another helping if he wanted. I liked the kid-friendly snacks they served. I liked that I saw the owners of the biz nearly every day for five years. We loved the fall parties, Russ even did a hay ride in his truck one year we attended. I love that the owners are hands on and actually INTERESTED in the families who attend their day care. I have known many others who have used KRK in Olathe and not one time have I ever heard anything but glowing recommendations, just like mine.
We also were very happy with the menu, all the flesh vegetables and the fruits that they served. Sometimes he would get three helping of something he really liked. And if we had special needs, the staff was more than willing to help. We never had a bad teacher. Most of the teachers are state certified and it shows. We especially liked being able to watch our child's classroom on the internet system. Sometimes it was hard getting on it from work but that might have been because of the system there, It can get backed up.Kids R Kids also is very family oriented. They hold about four events a year where parents can come and spend time with children in the classroom -- and there is no extra charge. There is an anniversary party in the spring, a barbeque at the end of summer, there is a Halloween party in each classroom, and a Thanksgiving luncheon for everyone.
