A1 Pet Emporium
This place is amazing! The first thing i noticed when i walked in was that the place is much bigger than i was expecting based on the last review on here. Within seconds i was greeted by Trisha, the owner and pet food expert! For the next two hours she personally walked me through the store and showed me every food they offer- a huge and varied selection of healthy and great foods for pets- and she explained the ingredients, pros, and few cons of each product. The prices were better than i expected and they have a food for every budget which was great for me! They also carry a lot of different natural/real bones, toys, raw food selections, healthy pet supplements and treats, collars leashes, and so much more! My dog was in heaven and we have definitely found our new pet store. I cannot believe i hadn't heard of the store before and have recommended it to all my friends and family. Thank you Trisha for being a godsend to me and my baby girl!-Madison and Summer

Barking Dog Bakery & Boutique
This is a great dog-friendly store that is one of a kind in OKC. The dog biscuits other goodies are home-made right in the store (and smell good enough for me to eat).. My daughters love to bring the wienie dogs in for a special treat from the owner. Everything is made from wholesome and healthy ingredients that have really helped our dog allergies and ailments. They also make Pet Cakes....complete with a Happy Birthday message and dog friendly frosting....nutritious. It is the funniest thing watching our pet scarf down that cake....I swear they have smiles from ear to ear!

I had been to another major pet "Mart" type store in Yukon, but found stock very limited and aquarium plants very few and in bad shape. Luckily I came across Petco on NW Expressway in OKC. HUGE stock of anything an aquarium hobbist could desire! (And a wide array of other pets too!) I will be doing all my pet related shopping at Petco from now on, Well worth the drive!

Hidden a bit back in the shopping center. A little smaller than I expected but not a big complaint. The staff was very friendly. Great fish selection and neat smaller animal tanks/holders. Better prices than across the street. We shop here over Petco now and are very happy with our change.

Nice, new store. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Brought my dog in twice and the manager already remembered her name on our second visit. Seems like they really care, unlike the folks across the street.

I got an incredible gift basket at the Oklahoma City Obedience Club's Summer Sizzler. My dogs love the treats and they are all very healthy.

Tips & Advices
Pet owners usually sign a waiver stating that any injury or illness a dog suffers while at daycare is the responsibility of the owner. However, most facilities carry liability insurance and pet business insurance in the event of a serious incident. To prevent illness, facilities are strict about requiring proof of vaccination and general health from a veterinarian prior to accepting a dog. However, in an off-leash setting, scuffles or fights might occur. Reputable facilities will often hire vet assistants who can treat minor injuries and under-the-weather dogs.  For anything more serious, a good daycare should make it a priority to get the dog to a vet, and get in immediate contact with the owner.
