Southwest Ambulatory Surgery Center
They were non-empathetic to our needs, kept being rude to us and whispering to one another. We had twins having surgery back to back that just lost their father. The surgery staff were wonderful but don't expect any positive actions from the front office. They act as though they don't like their jobs. Remember that no food and drink allowed in building at all. We brought two dolls for our twins for after surgery and one lady accused us for having pizza boxes. We told her twice that they were dolls and she didn't believe us and so we had to show her up close. Ridiculous! I don't usually write reviews but our family had several unnecessary issues with the front office staff.

O'Brien Sean
I had a partial shoulder replacement Apr 2015. Dr O'Brien and staff were very attentive to my needs before and after surgery. He listened to what I had to say and I never once felt like just a number. I recommend him and the Community Hospital, which was conveniently located behind his office. I have had a previous shoulder surgery else where, and the quality did not touch how I was treated by Dr. S O'Brien, staff, and hospital. Thank you for listening to my needs!!!

McBride Orthopedic Hospital Clinic
I go to the McBride on N. Lee and Ive seen a few of the doctors there. All of them have been wonderful except Dr. Margo. While a good surgeon, he has a HORRIBLE bedside manner! Ive heard this from many of his patients. He doesnt seem to care at all about your pain or issues resulting from the pain but generally, just very bad bedside manner in general! The rest of the doctors here are absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend McBride, just dont get Dr. Margo!!

Southwest Orthopaedic & Reconstructive Specialists
Read the other reviews and don't understand the attitudes of the negative ones.... I'm currently recovering from shoulder surgery performed by Dr Levings and my experience with this business has been beyond outstanding. From my first phone call till today everyone has been professional, caring and friendly. They've never hounded me for money nor have I waited for more than 15 min at any appt. I highly recommend SOS for any orthopedic problem you have! !!!

Southwest Orthopaedic & Reconstructive Specialists
This place is amazing! It is very busy, so the wait time can be a little lengthy, but the excellent staff and medical care make up for that. The girls in the front are always so polite and helpful. If you ever have an orthopaedic issue, I highly recommend this place!

I see Dr. Khan and Janie Rorick, PA-C. I know I am in excellent hands. They have both answered my questions, explained what is going on, listened to me, and made me feel like I mattered. I highly recommend them.

Boeckman, Matthew J, MD
Extremely knowledgable and patient. Took the time to listen to my concerns and I never felt rushed. I highly recommend Dr. Boeckman to anyone with chronic pain issues. I haven't felt this good in years.
Tips & Advices
Scoliosis is a disorder where the spine curves sideways. Most people develop the condition during the growth spurt before puberty. The cause of scoliosis is unknown and most cases are mild, but the rare severe instances can disable a person.
Orthopedic surgeons attend four years of medical school, then four to five years of orthopedic residency in a hospital. They must also be licensed and certified in orthopedic surgery by the state in which they practice.
The terms "orthopedic doctor" and "orthopedic surgeon" refer to the same profession. Related specialties include podiatrist, a doctor who works with the bones, tendons and ligaments in the feet, and a sports medicine physician, a doctor specially trained to treat athletes.
The cost of a visit to an orthopedic surgeon depends on the type of tests ordered and treatment given. For example, an MRI costs $500-$1,300. An initial consultation costs $100- $500, while anesthesia for a procedure generally ranges from $2,000-$4,000. Overall, an orthopedic surgery can cost anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000.
During a consultation or first appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, the practitioner will ask the patient a variety of questions to understand the situation. The surgeon might ask about the patient's pain levels, medical history, and any prior injuries. Then, the surgeon will administer a physical exam and possibly schedule tests to better understand the problem. Possible tests include a stress test, x-ray, or MRI.
